An L-2800 would be a more accurate comparison as far as price and features altough it to has more horsepower then the 790 but it is over a grand less then the 7800 and several thousand less then the 2910.

Don't know if they can get all the changes done by this fall for spring delivery! We sent them back home with a whole bunch of things to consider. They are trying hard to get them out as they know the styling is dated as much as the tractors are still very workable.

Harvey has a good point I can't tell you how many heads I've gone thru in years past. It still doesn't mean a fitting might be bad.

That is a awesome idea. If you look at the big cable layers you'd have the thought of how to do.

First you need to rig a feed tube to the back side of the subsoiler to get the cabe to the bottom. You can decide how to carry the cable or to feed it.

I would make a dry run to the project to check for obstructions (BFR's, stumps, etc) if you are happy with the depth make the real run and lay the cable feeding it down the tube to start. It will self feed after a few feet.

If you just want to tinker at splitting wood get the remote. If you need to be serious about splitting wood go the power beyond route. If you are very serious about wood 20+ standard cords get a complete seperate unit.

My remotes will operate my splitter but it is painfully slow (not enough flow, volume) to operate a cylinder of any size. the power beyond is 3X better and the cycle times are greatly improved.

I have used the pto screw splitters (1 time and only for a couple of hours) and would never use one again. I would not let my boys with in 25 foot of the thing when I saw how it worked. They are the most dangerous things I have ever encountered.

My splitter is built so I can add a little diesel engine, a 22+gpm pump and a 5X24 cylinder. But I may never do that because the powerbeyond does a great job. BUT I may come across a smokin deal...

The shaft seems solid and clean. Up until I took ownership of this tractor, it sat outside..............

I don't know about the type of valve. All I've been able to find in the control box is the relief valve (which i've been adjusting), two BIG cylinders that come out of the opposite end of the threaded rod, one of which controls the joystick play when you adjust it, and the other ?????? I haven't been able to turn yet, pretty solid and looks to be made out of a dif. type of metal.

On top of the control box are two bolt heads that are identical and about 9/16. They house a spring and a valve looking object each, but don't look like serious parts (not heavy duty or anything).

The other side has a BIG bolt head that seems to be just a plug in case something else is added.

If I took the arms off, would it need to be a massey dealer that serviced them or are these things fairly universal.

I don't know about the operation of the three pt and the loader at same time, although I have used the loader while hauling around a scrape blade and a disc/harrow for ballast. I thought that this was fairly common practice.

Again, can't stress the thanks, I paid to become premium member tonight thanks to the help and the education I've received.

johnathan..thanks for the insightful update. I've been back and forth on MMM vs 3ph RM (and side or rear dischg). You helped my decision to go RM. Now to decide Woods, Landpride or Sitrex. All have hi lift blades. LandPride appears to have a poor paint job...rust on new bodies...but dealer says units have held up "best" in his experience. I'll also have FEL and brush hoggin to do too so a MMM might be in the way.

Will be jumping in for a TC33DA soon too. Have 3 quotes with pretty similar equip.
$21,400 TC33DA, 14LA loader, block heater, Turf w/RimGuard, 60" MMM ($300 less for RM Rear dischg Woods)
or
$21,340 for same with LandPride 60" 3ph Air tunnel side disc
or
$22,270 same with 60" LandPride w/side dischg
Trouble deciding on LandPride mowers. They all look like heck with rust all over new bodies. Think I have any more wiggle room?

OK disc is around $100 pressure plate about $110 throw out bearing $30 should put in new bolts and bearing springs. With frt somewhere around $300 should put it all back new.
Hey I have shop manuals if needed. Or will fax you the pages involving clutch.

Now for time, you will use up a weekend just look it over and plan an attack with plenty of jack stands and a good floor jack.
