I too, am an electrical engineer, however, my expertise is not with tractor electrical systems. I am a utility engineer and design high voltage systems.

I've never heard of a low battery or a hot starter blowing a fuse. However, I would never say it doesn't happen, because I don't know. Electricity can do some mighty strange things, and it doesn't matter if it's a 12vdc tractor circuit or a 120/240vac house service.

Fuses and circuit breakers have a single purpose, to protect. Fuses can be referred to as a weak link and are designed to blow under abnormal current flow. Circuit breakers function the same as a fuse but are resetable.

Is there a design problem in the electrical system? I don't know, but hopefully, NH will revisit the issue. Maybe in future models the fuse block should be replaced with circuit breakers.

A dealer trying to second guess the engineers at Kubota would be disturbing to me. The fluid change schedules are there for a good reason. Any new equipment has a break-in period. The oil will become contaminated with tiny metal shavings left over from the production process and from the moving parts conforming to each other. The metal particles accutally help the break-in process... up to a point. The engineers have determined that 50 hours of use is the time when most of the break-in has occured. Much longer, and the metal particles in the oil will begin to do more damage than good. The best policy is to follow the manufacturer's instructions first.

Agreed, as far as the front weights. I have 400# of suitcase-style weights on the front of my tractor. But as far as weighting the wheels go, is it advisable to put weights on the front wheels AND the rear, or just the rear? This would be in trying to increase stability for working in uneven terrain, etc.

Ha!! Understood. I need a box scraper too, to level a woods road that gets washed out easily. I was looking at the KingKutter but with having to move each blade manually, rather than something that lets you move all the blades together, I thought it might be difficult to adjust. How have you found it to work for you? What are you doing with it?? Thanks. Bob

CD I have a Rhino 75 which is the same as a NH 757. I got it for about $2000.00 less than the same NH. I find it very easy to put on and take off as well as use. Rhino makes the NH hoes so if you want a NH buy the Rhino and use the extra money for some other impliments. Good luck.

Thanks Brokenarrow. I went to their website and saw a couple of possibilities. Dumb question...what's a roller pump? Does that drive off your PTO? I understand the 12v pump concept hooking to your battery. Which do you have and which would you recommend? Brian

Bucket forks I made work fine. visabitlity is a huge draw back but they held a 550# box scraper on a oak skid just fine. I drove 5 hours to my place left at 3am, unloaded it which was an expeiance. took of the tail gate and made 6 trips out of the seat to make sure I was aligned right. lifted it up and drove the truck away. let it down and carried it into the garage. I really dont like it though all that much. Was very worried about bending the bucket with all the bouncing it was doing. I think I waisted my time although they work I dont see me lifting anything near this weight with them again. I was all by myself and then sprayed a couple of fields packed up my stuff and drove the 312 miles hame. Was home by 6pm Sat. !!!!! Wife says I am nutz! I agree nutz about growing my crops!

Should I buy a few replaceable scarifers (I have very rocky soil)<br>
How well will it work to straighten out a field that was plowed and furrowed pretty deep. After plowing I intend to pick all the LARGE rocks I see and then go over it with the scarifers down max. to try and level off the furrows a bit to see the other rocks that may damage my disk. pick them and then disk, pick again and then plant.<br>
Also any tips for using it for what I intend it for, I also am using it to break up a round uped field that I had clover/weeds in this last spring, any tips for that using it? thanks buddy

I will switch the hoses soon. I've left the shims alone for now. When I do the switch, if the loader becomes strong, is it then a valve within the controls? If so, how do I access them (just take it apart?) for inspection and cleaning.

i've done some shade tree adjusting on the valve already. I haven't swapped the lines, but thats my next step. I did get the loader stronger.

This is the funny thing. It seems like every time I take the valve out to inspect or clean, and put it back in the loader is stronger. This is WITHOUT any adjustments. I'm not convincing myself of this, it is happening.

I can hear the valve shhhhhhhhhhhhing when the loader tries to lift the front of the tractor. Three days ago the loader lifted the front of the tractor fine. NO adjustments and about 3 hours of use lader (running pto, little loader use, and running 3pt up and down w/ various implements) and now the loader won't lift the front of the tractor again. It seems like to me something is getting stuck somewhere. This is why I want to drain ALL the hydro fluid and start new. I was going to let the loader rest int he up position against a tree to take the pressure off and open the drain plug???

PS i have a 4000psi guage but don't know where to test it on the loader or how or at what psi etc. since I don't have a manual.

Thanks to you all in the help you have given me. Tomorrow is the big day, I think I am going for the 4110. Just one more question if you please.
Today we had to move about 150 feet of mud off my camp road which was about 4 inchs. A friend of mine brought his 2910 Kuboto down it did great. While this tractor is large than the 4110 how will it (4110) stack up to the 2910. the size of the 4110 is what I need. The 2910 is to large for my town use. Has any one used both of the tractors.

I think I am not going to wait for the 3,000 s. this seems to be what I need unless it will be more meat with the same size.

Thanks BEAGLE, that sounds like that could be it. there was no lack of power but wasn't sure why it would do that.

A tractor is a jack of all trades, master of none, except maybe pulling an implement behind. That is what it is designed for. Many people cannot affort to have a garage full of dedicated machines. If you want a dedicated loader, you have skid loaders and articualted loaders as the leaders. I know of none with a clutch in this modern day. Maybe if you try real hard you may find one. My Kubota R520 articulated is only designed as a loader and it is hydrostatic. Kubota is a master of machinery. If there was a better way, they would use it. As a matter of fact, the Kubota articuated two series ago did have a clutch. That was in the 80's.
Now on to mowers. If you want a machine to mow there are many dedicated commercial machines. Many are zero turn. Front mount and mid mount are the most common. I cannot think of any off the top of my head that are not hydrostatic. I don't consider the standard riding mower a dedicated mower. Even though they were constructed to be, They are really just a tractor with a deck attached.

Just be aware that you may have to wait up to a month or more for some parts. If you are OK with that much downtime then you can save some bucks.
