The hot water approach sound like a great idea. I wonder if the heated pressure washers get hot enough? Northern didn't list the max temp, they are pricey and you would need a pressurized water supply to feed it.

If you go the trimmer route, I have a Sears walk behind. DON'T BUY THEIRS. Trimming up against something especially a fench is much easier with what "DR" calls Parallel Tracking. I think Troy Built has it too and maybe some others, but be sure. You need the cutter head off to one side to do a fenchline or building edge easily. The Sears unit I have can't do it. Other than that design issue, the walk behind cutters are extremely powerful. My wife trimmed around a toolbox I had sitting on the ground. When I picked it up, I only got the top 2/3. True story.

The other thing to watch is the material the "Mow Ball" is made of, either that or don't try cutting the grass in a gravel drive with it. She chewed the first ball to shreads.

I have 4 a.& 3 horses, and want a small tractor to manage my sand riding ring and my manure pile and spread manure. I will not mow lawns with it. I will plow snow, and I'm in New England.<br>

Local dealer has Cub Cadet (5000 series--4WD, diesel) and Kioti CK20 (4WD diesel) with quite a difference between prices. Any suggestions?

I kind of do part of what you suggested (I think). I usually ring the pasture a few times then start carving out long thin rectangles to cut, and only cut the long sides. This makes the turns more gentle, but the cutter still tries to dig in. Now I think this is primarily related to 3pth leaking down.

I don't think I can easily "Lift the 3pth a little to turn then set it back into the stopper...". The B7800 doesn't have a position control on the 3pth. Thats one pretty good goof I think I made and why I'm telling anyone that asks to pay the difference for the 2910.

Wish I found this site before I ordered the tractor, not while I was waiting for it. One day I may attempt a modification or tractor swap.

Hi guys....I went to fire up my bx2200 tonight and it barely turned over and started. I threw the volt guage on it and it was under 12 volts- around 11.8. When I put the lights on it dropped even more. I shut it down and then it wouldn't start, just one turn and clllliiiiccckkkkk. I put the jumper box on it and it started. I charged the battery for a few minutes and tried it and it started but still under 12 V. Am I safe to assume it's time to spend the $169 at tractor smart and buy an alternator? I kind of ruled out a bad cell in the battery seeing it took a charge and will start it with the jumper box. Is there anything else on these that would prevent it from charging? As a side note- I used it yesterday and went to the firehouse to do some clean up down the street. I had the flashers and headlights on when I came home. I could very well not have been charging for a while and this drained it down. Thanks for anyone's suggestions...Jim

Here is the history.

I bought a used massey 1010 with a massey 1014 loader on it. The loader is weak.

I drained and refilled the hydro fluid and changed the filter.

I took off the relief valve and cleaned it.

No serious improvement.

The loader will not lift more than 175 or so lbs.

The loader will pick up the front of the tractor if you put the bucket flat and then tilt it forward. The loader will not pick up the front of the tractor if you point the bucket down and drop the loader and force it down. It takes weight off, but does'nt clear the ground

I have an it manual but it does not cover the loader.

I tried testing pressure from the block in between the housing (where the 3pt hitch is located) and the relief valve, and got no pressure, but I think I'm doing something wrong since there has to be pressure to lift the loader empty.

I did not alter the shims in the valve.

The 3pt seems fine.

Is there something I can do at the loaders controls. Is there a seperate relief valve in it? This is quirky. There are many things on the loaders relief valve that are tempting to take off (to see if they are stuck) etc but I don't want to end up with a yard full of washers springs etc. because I don't know what I"m doing.

PLEASE HELP.

Our CUT use is not typical of what the average (if there is such a thing) user does with them.

We rarely use the FEL's (on our CUT's so equipped) for anything heavy, when we do we always use 3pth mounted ballast. It's the down'n'dirty siolution for us. It's cheap, fast on & off and a variable amount of weight in some cases.

I think for the user who, like us, spends a lot of time on turf, it is important to be able to lose excess weight fast & easily. In a lot of cases a box blade or other heavy implement is just as good as anything else. If the need for traction occurs while the box blade or other takes up the 3pth, then I think wheel weights are the next best thing.

It's interesting that you mention that "it took the bounce out of the ride", that was one of our big complaints with it on the machine we experimented with it on.

The other problem was we use the machines all year-round for a wide variety of tasks and so need to be able to vary the air pressure in the tires, the foam prevents that.

Flats are a very rare occurance for us, if we had a lot of SSL's on construction sites, etc., it would probably be different.

BTW, one of our customers did, however, fill the tires on the little Toyota 4x4 they have as a utility & snow plow rig, they were very happy with the results.

Grasgod, you should be able to connect a cable between your camera and computer, software usually comes with the camera to move the pics to the computer in the form of a jpg file. I have a Kodak camera with ezdock - I just push a button and the pics download to my pc. I have a 3 megapixel camera - I stretch and skew the pic to 15% of normal (using the "Paint" program) to get it within 30KB limits set by Dennis, then use Dennis's upload function to move the pic onto Tractorpoint web site.

Although a little more pricey, wheel weights tend to be more convent and practical on the sub-CUT size tractors. JD�s weights are very pricey, however there are other systems out there.

My B7800 can lift my attitude without even using the FEL or the 3-point. That leaves room for my personal problems in the FEL, digging holes with the rear pto, and the tea.
