I have been lurking for some time and I think I need to come out of the shadows. This forum has guided me to what I hope will be a whole lot of fun. I closed the deal on a new BX23. The 0% financing was up today and I made it with 20 min to spare. Got a BX23 for $16k. Not a great price but as I see it my dealer showed a professionalism and concern that I think will turn out to be a good partnership should I need service in the future. He has been extreamely informative and eager to answer all my questions. Its just a mom and pop dealership so they have to survive somehow.I have 3 acres with alot of sage brush (western Nevada) and I can't wait to get at it. The wife (Finacial CEO) had only one condition for the purchase and that is to landscape the vacation house back yard. Bend my arm will ya. I may need to trailer this thing someday to my empty lot and was curious if anybody knows what size and type of trailer is needed with the BX23? I guess it would be a equipment trailer but how long? Thanks for all your great info on this forum.

There's a debate on this subject warming up in the John Deere forum. I use a 18' car hauler to transport mine because it is what I have. I like to have a safety factor when to this type of work. Brakes and 15" truck wheels are mandatory for me.
The argument is mainly between single and tandem axle trailers. With the Hoe and FEL on your tractor I would think that your rig would be to the high side of 3000 pounds. In my OPINION this is more than a small utility trailer can handle, no matter how its rated. ....

As AV8R suggested, check out the discussion on trailering a 2210 that is raging on another thread. There are plenty of opinions to sift through there. I agree with the previous post, get more than you need. A 5000lb net, 7500lb gross tandem axle trailer with brakes will comfortably handle you machine.
Make sure you vehicle wants to pull it. ....

Your new tractor is just an inch or two shy of 15 feet long with everything resting on the deck. You will need a 16 foot tandem axle trailer with brakes.
They come in two basic configurations.... 5000 pound GVW and 7000 pound GVW. Of course you can get them even heavier... but that is beyond the realm of towing a BX.
Anyway, don't waste you time and money fooling with a 5000 GVW like I did.... spend the extra $200 bucks and step into the 7000. I had to trade up when the lighter trailer wasn't doing the job.
Where is your property in N. Nevada? I am in Carson City. BTW, there is a guy just up the road who can get you the trailer you need without gouging.

DRanken thanks for the good advice. I've got a home in Pine View Estates just south of Garnerville and my 3 acre property is in Holbrook Highlands at the juction of 395 and 208 witch is 16 miles south of Gardnerville. I will heed your warning on going with the 7000 lb trailer as I don't need any surprises when hauling the new family member. Carson City is a great place. We hang out at Fandango's when we want to gamble. Is that the trailer place btwn CC and Reno on the east side on you way to Reno? Went by there Saturday and almost stopped to check it out. Any particular person I should talk to? What model of tractor do you own and what do you use it for? Thanks again.
