Thank the left wing tree huggers for OBD3 (On Board Dianostics 3rd Generation). There are NO user accessable diagnostics. An owner used to be able to (OBD1 and OBD2)jump a couple pins or switch the ignition off and on several times to get a "code" from the check engine light.

Several proposals are on the books to "lock" the hoods on newer vehicles, ie. go to dealership for everything from filling the windshield wash on up. It's only going to get worse.

Treb55, I saw those acres of Kubotas along 99 a few times and almost bought my BX23 there but ended up buying in Nevada and saved a few hundred in sales tax plus the dealer seems to want to keep me satisfied. They seemed to have the ultimate selection.

DRanken thanks for the good advice. I've got a home in Pine View Estates just south of Garnerville and my 3 acre property is in Holbrook Highlands at the juction of 395 and 208 witch is 16 miles south of Gardnerville. I will heed your warning on going with the 7000 lb trailer as I don't need any surprises when hauling the new family member. Carson City is a great place. We hang out at Fandango's when we want to gamble. Is that the trailer place btwn CC and Reno on the east side on you way to Reno? Went by there Saturday and almost stopped to check it out. Any particular person I should talk to? What model of tractor do you own and what do you use it for? Thanks again.

I just took out a 1/4 inch shim and a little tiny (hair diameter) shim from the relief valve. Noticed no dif.

looking to purchase 1987 JD 950 4x4 with front loader and rear 7.5 hoe. Tractor is in exellent cond. paint still shine runs and operates exellent, hoe is JD in good cond except paint left outside faded and a little rust.Would like to know fair value for this tractor before purchasing at asking price of 14,500.00,sounds a little high but tractor looks new what do you think?

Around here in Michigan you can also opt for a solution thats made from beets that weights in close to the Cacl solution -no rust -slight problem with leak is those wonderful bees love it. I'm still investigating details,pro and cons

I was contemplating the same idea about building a set (or buy them) and move the stuff around in my barn (10ft ceiling) but got to thinking after I moved my boat trailer into the corner using those car dollies (about $40 a set) and thought why not put all my implents on those dollies and move the stuff to and from the tractor instead of jockeying tractor around... they WORK great

I love real wood! My wife loves it even more! There is NO WAY in hell that I will ever go thru what you are. LOL Your a good man!!! I will be building my next new house in less than 6 years from now and I am praying that in that amount of time they come up with a really great looking viynle that looks like the real thing. I stained my garage the other weekend with a sprayer (again) Second time in 2 years this one will last a few (I hope) I cant imagine all the work you are putting into your place. Although I love the way your place looks, when I see it thru my eyes I see alot of staining (tranlation, work) LOL. Hey when you get some experiance want to come over and do my 450' of shadow box fence? LOL I feel "some" of your pain!

There is no way to hurt the engine on those tractors by over revving it. They are governed to only allow so many rpms. Do not be afraid to give it all shes got you're not going to hurt it. Just as long as you maintain pto speed when running an implement.

I probably will go with a dual axel ASAP but for now I'm going to SQUEEZE it on mine.I can take the sides off to haul it and with it tied down I should be OK for a while.
When I get the backhoe for it I'll have to go the larger size. Does anybody know how heavy the FEL is?? I appreciate the help. God Bless ! Don.

thanks for the info jarndt and art ,I thought the same thing, but these dealers I spoke to do not think much about the mx5000, I told them all I want is to replace my old tractor with the same size but add on 4x4 and independent pto,all they want to do is steer me away from the mx5000.they said the shuttle shift is not a true shuttle and you can not shift on the go to easy with the main tranny , is this true thanks kurt

I got the SD with the foldable ROPS so hopefully I can let it down when in the woods. Can always remove it too. <br>
Also have quite a bit of open land to mow and such so the canopy will come in handy when into that or loading dirt and such.<br>

I'm not sure of the exact price difference. The 3130 may have more electronics on it. I like things pretty simple and not too many changes. The L3400 does indeed have the shuttle shift, my L2650 did too. It easy, put the tractor in whatever gear lets say 4 in low. Now you can just shift between F & R in that range. If you wanted 2 in the high range same deal. I considered the hst but decided the traditional way was right for me.

When I ordered my easy hitch from Northern it came with an adapter for the top link. The adapter is a heavy metal piece that is "Y" shaped. The U portion fits over the top link and is held with a pin. The | portion fits back into the easy hitch and is also held with a pin.
