I just completed putting down 25 gallons of stain in the poolyard area of my house. Now I want to start staining the right side and front of my house (Pic 1). I need to get up fairly high to do lots of the work and would like to do this as easily as possible. I am a weighty 200 lber and am not so nimble. I don't mind spending some money but don't want to rent a cherry picker at $800/week. Any recommendations? Rent scaffolding? Purchase 2 ladders and run a plank across both? Can I get anything for my 4310 and use it as an excuse to get another attachment? Any other ideas? Also, how do I walk around on the steep roof to get to the dormers, back of the chimney?

unfortunately ALL tractors have some sort of hyd. imperfection no matter what color. Some times it is repairable warranty item other times it is considered acceptable by factory standards.

There's a debate on this subject warming up in the John Deere forum. I use a 18' car hauler to transport mine because it is what I have. I like to have a safety factor when to this type of work. Brakes and 15" truck wheels are mandatory for me.

The argument is mainly between single and tandem axle trailers. With the Hoe and FEL on your tractor I would think that your rig would be to the high side of 3000 pounds. In my OPINION this is more than a small utility trailer can handle, no matter how its rated.

I was bushogging the other day with my L245Dt Kubota.It was hot ( in the 90's), and I had been running it pretty much non-stop for about 6 hours.I hit a log or something with the bushog which made the tractor die.When I went to start it, it turned over a couple times then wouldn't start. It acted kind of like a low battery.I let the tractor sit for 10 -15 minutes and it started normally. I wonder if I got it too hot ?

so let me ask if anybody has mx5000 what are the pros and cons is this a real good tractor or what.these dealers seem to not push them instead they push towards the grand L .I think I would lean towards utility/ag I have more room as I am 6feet2" and 230 lbs.,I could also get m4900 to for less than the price of the 5030 grand L.so I guess I am asking is the grand L better than the m series tractors thanks

Hey there are tractors with two 3pt's.on front and rear. BUT the one we sell is about $84,000 and 110hp not quite a cut but are they ever a blast to drive.

Yeah there are good deals for employees out there. I could get one pretty cheap but I really have no need for one Plus that would be just one more thing that i would have to work on after I got off work from working on them. I have nightmares about wrenches driving blue tractors chasing me, It is horrible.

She would like a finish mower, and to have it cut weekly or more often. We don't live on the property yet, so I don't want all my time just cutting the pasture, so it gets a little grow time.

I think I found another source for the problem. Apparently my 3 point is leaking down. I noticed it while the cutter was attached, and I was doing a wash down. In about 15 minutes, it went from 3" above ground to resting on ground. I started the engine and repeated the test. Same result. Tractor is in for its 50 hour right now and they found a scored valve they are replacing. Hopefully that will solve my problems.

Don't be afraid to run the engine at full throttle when you start to bog it down. By now it s very well broken in.

Another issue that might be wrong with your unit is the relief valve may be set too low from the factory. Your dealer can adjust that with little problem. As far as have your tractor tore down with only 300 some hours on it, I have tore them in to many many pieces with just 4 to 10 hours on them. Some times things happen that is why there is a warranty. If you don't want your tractor tore down trade it in.

Tom - I bought my former CUT, JD 790 there, At g & h in North Haven. At the time Dave Howe owned it. I had a terrible experience with the main deere rep., Bob Mills & have become a proud Kubota Guy after I witnessed the arrogance from deere after a major warrenty issue.

Unfortunately this is a common problem with the Dodge Auto-Trannys. Knowing many people in the business, the problem usually stems from modifications and/or abuse. Big tires, hot-rod chips, overloading are all real common problems. How many stock trucks do you see? Just beacuse it looks like a T2000 Kenworth, doesn't mean it is, or can be.

As they say at the Turbo-Diesel Register (TDR) website: (Cummins Dodge Organization) If you modify your truck or abuse it you "...become your own warranty station...".

Their auto-trannies are weak, it's a known fact, thats why I bought the 5-speed.

JD, What is a 50 hour kit?
My bx23 developed a hydro leak in one or more of the 4 FEL connections. It's going to the shop. I miss it already.

If you are thinking about moving dirt and smoothing it, a rear box blade will be a must.

You may want to see if either unit has a rear position control (A quick way to go back to the same height setting over and over again). If so, I'd go for the feature over the color. I have a little larger model, but think in hind sight that would have been a good feature to look for.

If its not too late, Add one more vote for the 2910 if the price differential is just $1500.

Unless this is mainly a field/lawn mower. Position control and the rear hydraulics are the main useful difference. I keep hearing how useful a hydraulic top link is for use with box blade and similar devices.

I think the rest would be nice, but could be lived without.

AV1968,

I inquired about the same thing for my 60"MMM. They tell me that none exist....you can get a kit but apparently it will not really solve the problem....maybe that double blade thing will work. I am shocked at the lack of innovation with these decks...my dad had an old 1967 JD 110 and it had basically the same mow deck...3 blades..and get this..NO ZERTS...I would expect at least some improvements for almost 40yrs.

I had to get a new trailer too. the tandam wheel 7000 pounder was great for the 790, but the 5205 about crushes it. I went to a 12000 pounder made for haulin tractors.GET more the you need so as not to be pushin the limit each time you haul.

Your going to have to test ride some, The 790 will be way to small for a guy your size. they have a cramped cockpit.
