i have a takeauchi 1.5 ton digger with a yanmar 3 cyc 3n engine i have tried everything to start the thing i am being polite <br>

fuel glow plugs ect has any body got any ideas compresion seems ok there is a lot of pressure from the rocker cver vent /<br>

You can look at my pictures to see what a properly setup Jeep Grand Cherokee w/ V-8 4WD/AWD can do...Its rated as a Class 4 which is 6500 trailer weight or 10500 combined...it has the tow package which has stiffer springs<br>

The enclosed trailer I have is a 6 x 12 and its heavy. The machines add 1,100- 1200 additional weight...I regularly go up to New England 6-10 hrs of windy hilly roads with no problem..The jeep is full and the A/C on..<br>

Would I like a true tow vehicle? of course!! I will have a trailer soon to tow my smaller(no BH) JD 4100 for 50 mile one way trips...I'm not quite ready to scrap my 44k miles 1995 excellent condtion jeep quite yet :)<br>

I think in this case 5000lbs isnt a problem if the limited has the tow package, and up country suspension, and class 4 hitch, tranny cooler - should be standard on the limiteds or orville's..<br>

Looking to buy a reconditioned Yanmar in the next few weeks or so. Is anyone familiar with Liberty Tractor out of Mississippi the prices seem pretty reasonable and I am told they do good work on the reconditioning process, and all reconditioned tractors come with a 2 yr. drivetrain warranty. They have 2210 listed for about $4600.00. What are the better models to look for? 2cyl. vs. 3cyl.? Thanks in advance.<br>

I am considering buying a 4201 4WD. It has been "fully reconditioned" has 90 day warrenty.

My concern is the garage that rebuilt the engine and finding parts.

any advise? Where would you find parts?

Yes, SkidSteer Solutions actually calls it their E-Z Spade. Bobcat calls it the "Digger." Could you tell me a little about the quick attach option. I have a JD4115. Would it work for my FEL? Thanks.

If you are interested in a plow, Northern Tool sells a Howse brand. A single bottom 12" sells for $229 plus $80 for the coulter and another $80 for the Depth gauge. Truck shipment would be extra for 365#. Its shown on page 68 of their latest catalog. The 14" is another $20.00. I'm a frequent shopper their because of convenience, their prices are always the cheapest. Some people prefer tillers to a plow. I have several of each and use them all depending upon the application.

I just got a LandPride 1660 60" rear discharge mower on Monday for my JD 4110 gear. It then rained for 3 days HARD, and my grass hadn't been mowed this year, so it ranged from 12-16" high and was soaking wet. I was expecting the worst when I finally got to run that sucker yesterday, but it worked GREAT!

I mowed in 2nd gear/low range, with the deck almost all the way up -- about 4.5". Wondering if your problem was speed or height?

Thanks for the advice but nothing has worked. When I went back the bucket also became "Jerky". The fluid level was a little low so I added some clear Hy-Guard but I over filled it. When attempting to Drain a "little bit" out, the drain plug fell into the funnel I was trying to use to catch the fluid into a clean Two gallon container. I did not realize this until after a frantic search- ever try to stop tranny fluid from flowing while looking for a drain plug that you "KNOW" fell into the catch basin? Well my arms and gloves got wet as did the ground as did my back cause I was laying in it and I didnt even cuss that much!:)
There does seem to be a leak from the one inch return hose behind the filter, possibly the original problem but at this point I have decided discretion is the better part of valor and called the dealer. He is coming out on Tuesday. I will keep you informed. Again thaks for the advice.

Grinder, I guess following your logic, you think everyone should only drive Japanese cars? (By the way, KIA is S. Korean not Chinese) I try to find the best price on the car that meets my wants and needs. In the 70's I bought a new Mazda GLC because it was cheaper than a used car. I bought a Plymouth Sapporo in the early 80's (sort of American like some US tractor companies selling Japanese tractors). Traded that on a new, little known brand called Acura, an Integra, and in 1989 I traded that on a Legend. Since then I have bought GMC Suburban, Dodge Intrepid, Mercury Mountaineer, Volvo S90, Ford F150 Lariat, Mercury Mystique LS (still have that) and a most recently a Dodge Ram 1500. To tell you the truth a Huyndai (another S.Korean make) came close to edging out the Mystique LS, both had V-6, Leather, 5 speed, etc, but the Mercury had a better net price. As I recall Kia didn't have a "loaded" sedan at that time so didn't really consider them, although they sell a lot of their Sportage SUVs.

Since you seem interested in my theories, and we have somehow gotten this into an automotive mode, I will share that I have long held that a major reason low cost cars fair so poorly in longevity and resale is that they are often sold to first time buyers who having bought a new car, feel they do not need (or cannot afford) proper maintenance. During my short Volvo ownership experience, I suspected the reason they last so long is somehow tied to the expnese of maintenance. I spent well over $500 a year just on scheduled maintenance at the Volvo dealership. I think if a Hyundai or KIA got that type of pampering service, they might make 500,000 miles too.

I've always enjoyed sports cars as well as my tractors. Back in my college days I got a Maserati. I've had it ever since............. but unfortunately it is only a bicycle. That's all I could afford then and things haven't changed much since.

Corrected values age =41 CI =93 I forgot a car I inherited several years ago from my uncle a 1962 coupe DeVille with 31,000 original miles on it. I forgot it because its not at my house and I never drove it. It is interesting my uncle was loaded and kept cash all around his house when he died at age 90 he had a 37 year old married girlfriend. We found out she had already got 1 $100,000 CD put in her name and had an agreement of sale on a $750,000 property. We know she got all the cash in the house. We were told that he also kept cash in the car. I went to check on it yesterday and noticed that the driverside rug was pulled up and broken razor blades were scattered around (one of my uncles boobie traps.)We never had a key for the trunk so after seeing the rug I called a locksmith I should have a key today or tomorrow. Knowing my uncle there could be more than a spare tire in the trunk.

There is a book out there that does have all the break downs of oils. I can't think of it's name at this time but it is put out by the oil industry. The fact that an oil can does label to fit a companies application doesn't mean the manufacturers oil isn't better for your unit then a off brand. In the late seventies IH tested and designed oils for there engines and I know that nobody ever tested there oils the same. Some diesel engines would have trouble just getting to 3000 hours much less doing it at full throttle and full load without an oil change. We see engines day in and out that the problem was the oil or I could say the oil might or was not changed often enough for it's quality in those conditions. I've rebuilt engines on synthetics so I feel there is little saint hood for any oil. Right now we are down to an oil change on an engine to 100 hours to fix a oil consumption problem when the manufacturer says the changes are supposed to be at 250 hours. If you have an oil you like go for it, worst case senerio you will get to meet your dealers service deptartment.

They are good tractors, but there are some front end & pto parts that are no longer available. Parts are a little pricey.
