Thanks for the input - I am going to call around and check prices on the 7510. I really like Salem Farm Supply; their price is $12,700 for 7510 HST with 302 FEL and loaded R4's. I looked on the B-series price link someone posted earlei and this is a little higher than what they say is a good price. In addition to working at the school I own an outdoor gear and clothing store, so I fully understand the value of paying a little more for excellent service, and I have heard nothing but good things about Salem. That said, I got feedback from Art a while back that this is a good price -- anyone else out there have a price I can compare to?

Art why would you not seperate one from a tractor? I have one that came with the 755 I bought last year but don't plan on using it since I'll probably never have more than 1/4 acre of grass total at the most. I took it off my tractor and just have it stored for now until I get around to selling it.

I JUST PURCHASED A TC35A NEW HOLLAND BOOMER AND 5 FT BUSH HOG FROM TARHEEL TRACTOR. I FOUND THESE FOLKS TO BE GREAT TO DEAL WITH AND MORE THAN FAIR ON THE PRICE. DELIVERY TIME WAS FASTER THAN I COULD BELIEVE. THEY DID EVERYTHING THEY SAID THEY WOULD. WHAT A GREAT OUTFIT TO DEAL WITH. I RECOMMEND THEM HIGHLY.

With the lights on the ROPS, I am able to swivel the lights to aim behind me for three point work. I haven't noticed any problems from the snow, which we got plenty of this year. The bugs aren't quite out yet, we'll see.

You can also check Northerntool and Surpluscenter. They both have a good variety of welded and tie rod cylinders for reasonable prices. Clevis ends will be the most commen.

If you can't find a Maschio manual, it should match one of the John Deere Frontier models since Maschio is who makes them. JD switched to Maschio from Howard over the last couple of years as the maker of its tillers for the Frontier line of implements. Should be able to match the size and duty and order a manual from JD.

I think ISO is a joke as well. Mostly it means documenting and creating "repeatable processes". It does little or nothing to improve the quality of processes or products. In fact, it's often an impediment to improving quality. When you want to improve a system or process the paper trail and inspections and expense required are a disincentive to doing so. Once bad systems or processes are documented they tend to stay that way.

I am converting my ditchwitch from points system to electronic system. I have 2 wires from the distributor 1 red and 1 black. Can anyone tell me which wire goes where?<br>

Don't know if it's the same problem, but I used to have this problem all the time with a tractor with an electric pto clutch. To free up the coupling, I would reach under the mower deck and spin the blades a litle by hand both ways. Obvioulsy, safety is the first concern, you only do this with the tractor off. But shaking the blades back and forth freed up the coupling. Good Luck.

If the machine is off you should struggle to turn the steering wheel. While under warranty, I would let those guys fix it.

Always good to solve the problem before the cavalry arrives. Good it's a nice easy fix although it sounds like somebody either has been arguing with the engagement or stood on the shaft getting on or off the tractor. Hope nothing else breaks. My 4wd-linkage let loose inside the diff and required removal of an axle housing--thanks to a previous owner. Well I should have wondered why the 4wd lever was welded onto its collar when I bought the tractor. That was my fault, not the tractor's.

Many engines can use the timing and valve clearances checked at around 600 hours and maybe the injectors as well. It doesn't quite sound like injectors but they could be tested at a diesel shop.

Off hand I'd guess a fuel problem. First thing might be to ensure that the fuel is clean and fresh and change the filter and inspect the line and filter bowl for leaks. Some tractors have screens in the line or tank ahead of the filter. Fuel starvation often is accompanied by unstable rough operation and gray exhaust smoke. Seems like a good starting place and I imagine there'll other suggestions. It might help to say how many hours are on the tractor, the idle speed and give a little more detail about what happens. Does it start easily after it stalls? PS or hydraulic use can lug an engine at low rpm but it should happen when the engine is cold as well.

Turbo after you get this floor done I would make a suggestion. I have a wooden floor in one of my garages and my workshop and did not like the wood as a finished floor for many reasons. Many garage type floors are very expensive and easily damaged. My solution was rubber stall mats they are 4'x6' 1" thick rubber mats. They are virtually indestructable. I drive on them, lay or kneel on them (very comfy) I do wood working and welding in the workshop with no problem clean up is simple and easy. I liked it so much I also put them on my workbench top. Cost is about $1.50/sqft.
