I bought a shelter king last year it went up easy and seemed to be a good deal. After about 9 months the cover started disintigrating. I called the company and they told me they were aware of the problem and that some bad covers went out by mistake. They quickly sent me a replacement cover that was obviously better quality. Now I will have to see how long this one will last. They say 7 years, but I have my doubts.

No specific help here but I have heard of cross-reference tables on-line and at various box stores. If the Allis and Massey tractors use the same engine a cross-reference table may list those tractors rather than the Hinimoto. I'd be aware that after-market filters may not have the same specs as factory filters. I have heard that no after-market hydraulic filters for some tractors can be found.

Wildman I use a york rake to do that. Here's the cool part. If you had thought about over seeding now is the time to do it.

It really makes a huge difference.

Hi Durwood,

Sorry to be so long in responding - I have been away from the computer for several days.

The Benye has been a great tractor - tough, rugged and dependable. I owned the 34HP - 4WD. The finish work is rough, but the basic structure is solid. A real work horse. I had the Benye for 5 years and put about 800 hours on the machine - sold it for a bit over 50% over what I paid for it in 1999. Hope this is useful to you.

I don't know about the 360 model. I do have a 2610. It came new with paint in the top of the fuel tank that started breaking loose soon after I got it. The paint would stop up a small strainer on the primary fuel pump. If yours has a hand primer on the pump look at the top of that pump and you'll see a small hex head bolt. If you see this,you can remove that bolt and get the strainer out and clean it. The paint ruined the pump after stopping the fuel from flowing 4 times. The dealer replaced it, No charge. Haven't had any problems since. When the strainer was just about plugged it showed some similar symptoms as you described.

Ether, I never use it now. But did back in the 70's(old Dexter). The best way I found to use ether if it has to be used is spray some on a clean piece of cloth and hold it over the air intake while starting the engine. This limits to ammount that gets in the combustion chanber. For cold weather starting I use an engine tank heater. Makes it start in Jan. like July weather and a lot easier on the starter and engine.

Most shuttle foward/reversers are on the left side of the steering column. But thats where I like them.
I could be wrong, but think the Kioti 3054 I test drove a few years ago may have had the shuttle on the left side of the seat. I much prefer it on the steering column.

My 04, has the same problem and soon the lights will be on the rops. I can get pretty good lighting when the fel is almost all the way down with the bucket curled but am installing the rops lights next month cause it seams like the bucket is too low when traveling on rough ground and also truing to see with the standard issue. I believe the new lights give more lighting out to the sides and dont help too much for forward lighting.

you are very blunt!!! (so am I) or so my wife tells me along with other. Some people dont like it some dont pay attention to it? and some appreciate it. I always say, "At least you know where I am coming from and right or wrong you will never not know exactly how I feel" You do sound passonate about your work, nothing wrong with that, You have good info and have a good knowlege of mechanical workings in tractors. Speculating on whether someone is lieing or not is always a prescription for trouble. Most of the time when you call a onion and onion most of us here already smelled it on the board and were thinking the same thing anyway!!! You know what I mean!
It sounds like you have a good heart and a consience, that makes for a generally good person!!!!! (In my book anyway)

Here is a note for anyone that gets into a similar situation. I keep a pair of high lift jacks in my pickup - have done for years. They will lift about 7000 lbs about 42". You can push and move about anything with them as long as you have something to push against. I once move a 4wd pickup about 100' to where I could drive it out. Very slowly I grant you but I had a couple of lengths of 2 x 12's to put under them. very tired and muddy when I finished but I would have to have walked a couple of miles or more to get help. I was pretty far out in the boonies.

I just bought a used Cosmo AC42 pto chipper and I would like a manual or just information about it. It was made by an Italian company that no longer makes them. Top gravity feed for brush, side manual chipper fead for up to 4". Sound familiar to anyone?

OK, I found it. The roll pin at the drive shaft universal was sheared.
