In my opinion the largest and most expensive factor driving health care costs is the cost for treatments of personal irresponsibility and abuse. Ever stop and think about the true TOTAL costs of drunk driving/alcoholism, drug abuse, smoking, sexual transmitted disease (STD), criminal acts, obesity a.k.a. "Golden Arches Disease" ;o), irresponsible life styles and personal care, and pure stupidity, just to name a few. The list goes on out of sight. These all have costs associated with them and usually those causing this cost either refuse to or have no money to pay for the care. Consider all of these cost and you would be shocked. Yes the lawyers (more like "judicial whores" add to the cost but not nearly so much as completely preventable, irresponsible conduct. In my opinion, medical care coverage should NOT cover the above things. In most cases it was completely preventable.

The rest of it I think falls under life's unforscene occurances that none of us could foresee or prevent and just plain growing old. That is what health care is for. Kinda like automobile insurance? It is not for drunks, idiots who deliberately flout driving laws, or folks not in posession of one crumb of common sense that should not be driving.

Until common sense prevails; (and don't hold your breath waiting for it is this country) the costs will continue to spiral out of site.

I hate to sound like such a Bah! Humbug! but there is a limit to this country's resources and peoples wallet content.

It is basically the same thing but bigger, much bigger. I suspect that a 471 pound dump box of those dimensions on a BX1500 would make it a little 'gravationally challenged' in the front end.

It would be kind of nifty on a bigger machine though, I wonder what the logic of the 'skids' underneath is ?

A common fuel filling trick around here is to use an old transport truck fuel tank with a few small modifications.

Basically the tank is built into a steel frame equipped with a a lifting ring, fuel hose and nozzle.

In use, the tank is put into a pickup for getting fuel, and taken back out, using a peice of chain off the FEL. To fill the tractor the tank is lifted just higher than the hood of the machine, gravity takes care of the rest. No muss, no fuss, no power source required.

Not sure what you mean by mid and rear hydraulics, and that could affect the price by a few $k. A good way to price JD machines is to go to their web site and use the build & price option to configure your machine. That will give you MSRP. A really good price would be 20% off MSRP, but typically it's more like 10%

I think such things are available and are called shovels. I can't recall hearing of them used on compact tractors and I'm not sure one would do the job if I understand the problem. There is quite a bit of discussion in the archives about ways to remove stumps.

To answer your question properly, you need to know what lumber you will be using for the stringers and the joists, since the allowable fiber stresses varies widely for difference species of lumber. Even if you said pine, there are several different pines, and the allowable fiber stresses vary even with pines. The most common is Southern Pine, No. 2 grade. Your supplier will be able to tell you the type of lumber.

I would recommend a 200psf design load for the floor, checked for localized overstressing from concentrated equipment loads, which would give you the stiffness you need to not have "spongy" spots. This would need to be verified based on the governing building code in your area. Besides the sizing of the stringers and joists, foundation requirements and connections should be considered.

If you are able to give me a type and grade of lumber, I could recomend stringer, joist, and flooring sizing for you. All this would need to be approved by the local building department.

I had to have a meeting with BOB Mills. Do you know him?? He is from corporate headcorders. He wasnt willing to admit that they should do me right by their flaw. My loader used to "POP" off when i had material in it when I hit a slight bump while traveling slowly. It came off several times on me & damaged my hood & side panels not to mention the hour it took me to out it back on.They redisigned the laoder for 2000.My machine is a 99. But Bob basically said I should have bought a 2000. Instead of fixing the problem. So I had my dealer modify it & it cost me several hundred to replace the hood & side panels. GO Kubota!!! Kubota will be my next tractor.

Hello, you must think that I am being unfair to forign tractors. In reality, I am just posting the problems that I personally have encountered with this brand of tractor. I will state again, I feel I have adequate experience to speak the truth. I have had four of these in a period of less than a year. The dealer was excellent at trying to remidy the problem by bringing out his entire stock of new tractors. I feel that my farm was and still is the Lenar Tractor Proving Grounds. Every tractor has blown the main hydraulic hose, every tractor had some sort of electrical deficiency such as guages not reading right, the tail lights staying on and melting the reflective lense cover, and leaks of some sort. I do not need lights to set posts for a fence, so I over looked that defect. Leaks, well I am not parking it in my garage, so as long as it wasnt spewing out, and just a drip, and having to top off the fluids once a week, I could deal with that. Guages, well I know the fluids are good, I just topped them off, and the tractor did start, maybe with a jump, but it did start, I can still set posts, so that was over looked as well. Splitting in half, well that was a problem, I couldnt set posts, main hydraulic hose blowing, well, cant set posts with that problem either, not shifting to four wheel drive, well that can make a muddy field difficult to work in, but I could buy a wench and pull my self to the last post I set, or use the bucket to push myself backwards to where I need to go, but if I was really willing to do that, I could just go the next step and buy a good ash handled post hole digger. Ok, so I know I have problems and that this tractor could be costly to own because of repairs, so I bought a bumper to bumper warranty from Fail Safe for it. Well what good is a warranty if you can not find a dealer within 500 miles to work on it. That is a problem that cant be worked around either. I am able to work on the tractor myself, but if I was willing to do that, I would have bought an old ford 8N and refurbished it since finding parts for that tractor is relitivley easy, but I cant set posts or move manure if I am working on a tractor. Well I should say something good about this Lenar tractor, so I will. If I was to take a power washer and wash it really really good and pulled it to the middle of a field, from a distant, it would look like a really good tractor, you could see how the fiberglass shell is nice and shiny, and it is blue from the inside out, not just paint but the fiberglass is impregnated with blue pigment, you couldnt see the oil leaks or stains from the hoses or engine block, and it does say it is four wheel drive on it, with nice aggressive looking tires. For all intent and purposes, the Lenar Tractor really looks good.........Just dont start it. You can say you have a nice tractor, you can write it off on your taxes and it would make a farm look like a farm with it sitting in the field. For those uses, the Lenar tractor is an exceptional machine. Just make sure that the post hole digger, the shovel and the wheel barrel are hid, that way no one will know that you have a tractor that you cant use, or afraid to use, and that you got dupped into buying an over priced bird perch.

There are torque tables for hydraulic fittings. When new fittings are properly installed and tightened sealer usually isn't needed. Over tightening fittings makes them leak and then sealer is the only cure. If used, sealer should only cover the upper third of threads to avoid exposing it to the oil flow. It can break off and become an obstruction.

There are a bunch of installation rules for fittings as well as steel lines and hose to prevent premature failures. No time to summarize them this morning but maybe I'll get back to them.

Could be a number of things but a good guess is the air cleaner or otherwise obstructed intake manifold.

I took advantage of the 0.0% for three years, and don't have any restrictions on early payoff. It is basically same as cash, except you have to make a monthly payment on time. I ordered implements with the machine and had the same financing for the whole package. Good luck.

I have a KingKutter behind my 7800. It works fine. It isn't the best looking piece of machinery, but for the price it does what it is supposed to do, it mows a nice looking lawn. I have never had any problems with it, and at this point find no reason not to recommend it to someone else.

Brokenarrow: Sounds like you had a great weekend. Most anytime you're pulling a heavy drawbar or 3pt. load use the 4wd., you won't hurt it, that's what it's for. during road transport or light mowing low draft type work turn the 4wd. off. Having the 4wd. off while mowing or other tight quarter work that doesn't require the extra traction makes tight turning lots easier. We must be kids at heart yet, I spent Sat, and Sunday after church with the 4310 and the hoe cleaning up old fencerow rocks and brush. We gotta be nuts, but sure seemed like fun to me. Just a note on the serious side please fasten your seatbelt and practice working safely, these are awsome machines, but we have to respect them. Frank.

I RECENTLY CHANGED THE HYDROSTAT FLUID IN MY TG1860G. SINCE THE CHANGE THE TRANSMISSION HAS NOT WORKED PROPERLY. AT LOW RPM'S IT WORKS ALMOST NORMAL. AT HIGH RPM'S IT ACTS AS THOUGH IT DOESN'T HAVE ENOUGH POWER TO PULL IT'S SELF. I'M CERTIAN I HAVE CAUSED THIS PROBLEM IT WORKED PERFECT PRIOR TO THE CHANGE. ANY IDEAS OR SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

It isn't a problem problem if you can remember your operating time for maintence work. You might try changing your fluids or check your flow valves.

The front tie rod has not been that much of a problem as it is above the front axle. Some were behinf the front axle but yet underneath it and also actually causing more repairs.
