I have a KingKutter behind my 7800. It works fine. It isn't the best looking piece of machinery, but for the price it does what it is supposed to do, it mows a nice looking lawn. I have never had any problems with it, and at this point find no reason not to recommend it to someone else.

yes, this is the tractor that is owned partially by ford. That is one of the reasons that I bought it. To be honest, some of the problems may have resulted due to what the dealer did or didnt do. Still, a new tractor should be a hassle free machine that you shouldnt have to wonder if you can use it through a tank of fuel without a break down. I have lost all confidence in this tractor.

Removing the top link pin to dump is a great idea. Thanks. I looked through the TSC online catalog and couldn't find anything other than a regular carry all. Is this something that is only in their print catalog? To clarify, I am basically looking for something to effectively replace a little utility dump cart. The lower links on my BX hit the front of the dump cart when turning because the drawbar on the trailer is too short. Additionally, I hate backing that little thing because the wheelbase is so short. A dumper that attaches directly to the tractor to carry light loads would be ideal.

HuckMeat; yes I can understand your problem. In a year of use you probably would'nt consume a hundred gallon of fuel, so it hardly seems worth the effort to put up a permanent storage tank, but yet packing it in in 5 gal cans is a pain and messy too. Long term fuel storage can give you problems with water condensing on the inside of the tank and there is a mold of somekind that can live on fuel, I don't know much about it tho. I don't know about other states but in Iowa farm fuel is road tax exempt off the delivery truck and is dyed red. Once in a while the State DOT will set up a sting and wait along the road near salebarns, impliment stores and other places the farmers with diesel pickups frequent. Soon as the farmer pulls out onto the public road the DOT will pull them over and dip the fuel tank. If they find red fuel there is an awsome fine something like ten grand. Far as I know farm delivered fuel and truck stop fuel are the same stuff only during cold weather you can get winter blend probably easier at the truckstop rathere than the small amount you'd need for winter from the fuel truck. Brokenarrow: Sounds like you had a great weekend. Most anytime you're pulling a heavy drawbar or 3pt. load use the 4wd., you won't hurt it, that's what it's for. during road transport or light mowing low draft type work turn the 4wd. off. Having the 4wd. off while mowing or other tight quarter work that doesn't require the extra traction makes tight turning lots easier. We must be kids at heart yet, I spent Sat, and Sunday after church with the 4310 and the hoe cleaning up old fencerow rocks and brush. We gotta be nuts, but sure seemed like fun to me. Just a note on the serious side please fasten your seatbelt and practice working safely, these are awsome machines, but we have to respect them. Frank.

I RECENTLY CHANGED THE HYDROSTAT FLUID IN MY TG1860G. SINCE THE CHANGE THE TRANSMISSION HAS NOT WORKED PROPERLY. AT LOW RPM'S IT WORKS ALMOST NORMAL. AT HIGH RPM'S IT ACTS AS THOUGH IT DOESN'T HAVE ENOUGH POWER TO PULL IT'S SELF. I'M CERTIAN I HAVE CAUSED THIS PROBLEM IT WORKED PERFECT PRIOR TO THE CHANGE. ANY IDEAS OR SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

It isn't a problem problem if you can remember your operating time for maintence work. You might try changing your fluids or check your flow valves.

The front tie rod has not been that much of a problem as it is above the front axle. Some were behinf the front axle but yet underneath it and also actually causing more repairs.

I perfer the 4' for here in NY but you want to cut with the front as it will only cut once. When the rear is lower then you are making many cuts and using more fuel and power. Don't worry about the rear wheel coming off the ground.

What is a good price for a new 4710, 4wd, e-hydro,R4 tires, Mid and rear hydraulics with joystick control, but with no loader. So far the best price quote I have gotten is $21,200. I am in NE Kansas.<br>

I use a large 220v Miller daily at work, its a mig, and I can only speak good of it, I have an older lincolin stick welder, not sure of the model and a clarke 130 mig here at home,I got the little clarke for doing auto-restoration, but have found that I use it more often than the stick welder, the 130 works off of 110v power, I got it as a "kit" / package deal at Orschelns for $299.00, it came with the welder,cart,2 spools of wire, helmet, etc. everything but the bottle for gas, however it will work fine without gas with the "flux core" wire.
I have used it for all types of metal, light and mid gauge up to 1/4 inch.
Check with your friends / neighbors and see if they have a welder that you might try and see what you are comfortable with.
If you get a wire welder, you might want to keep a pair of wire dykes handy at first...I did, until I got able to run it fairly well, I read the owners man, and watched the video that came with it, then got some scrap metal and started practicing. Im no "expert" but thus far I have not had a weld fail.

I have a 99 790. it's 30 hp!!! of coarse it will. That tractor has alot more sack then you know of. You just need to learn how to operate it!!
