Your PTO clutch needs attention. Chances are it needs to be split and it does take some talent to do this job. They are good systems and used thru out the industry. Chances are what is happening is the disc is shot and binding into the starter and driving it which is not a good situation.

What is a good price for a new 4710, 4wd, e-hydro,R4 tires, Mid and rear hydraulics with joystick control, but with no loader. So far the best price quote I have gotten is $21,200. I am in NE Kansas.<br>

I use a large 220v Miller daily at work, its a mig, and I can only speak good of it, I have an older lincolin stick welder, not sure of the model and a clarke 130 mig here at home,I got the little clarke for doing auto-restoration, but have found that I use it more often than the stick welder, the 130 works off of 110v power, I got it as a "kit" / package deal at Orschelns for $299.00, it came with the welder,cart,2 spools of wire, helmet, etc. everything but the bottle for gas, however it will work fine without gas with the "flux core" wire.
I have used it for all types of metal, light and mid gauge up to 1/4 inch.
Check with your friends / neighbors and see if they have a welder that you might try and see what you are comfortable with.
If you get a wire welder, you might want to keep a pair of wire dykes handy at first...I did, until I got able to run it fairly well, I read the owners man, and watched the video that came with it, then got some scrap metal and started practicing. Im no "expert" but thus far I have not had a weld fail.

I vote Kubota!! I own a JD. Dont get me wrong, JD is a good machine but the people of JD & i dont mean your local dealer people, Are all arrogant snobs. I had a major warrenty issue & they weren't willing to resolve it. My dealer faught for me but there was only so much he could do.

Got 11 hours on it. In those 11 hours we cut an 8 1/2 acre field, (weeds were not that thick or tall maybe a foot or so, less in some spots more in others) I played with trying to crown out the drive using my old back blade<br>
along with the fell (did not get the box scraper yet) I done a pretty good job, not perfect but it definatley has a crown to it. While picking my older equipment out of tall grasses around my place (to put everything in the garage finally) I hooked up the 2 bottom plow. Well wouldnt you know it? I decided to practice. Plowed about<br>
100 yards long by 60 feet wide area of 8 year old hay field. UNREAL, no problems at all, even pulling up rocks (some around 100 pounds!) I was amazed. When walking the plowed are latter I realized why every now and then I would feel a awefull bump, it was a few pretty large rocks that I was rolling around. Alos, I so glad I had 4wd. while bruch hogging the field I went off the main hay field to cut along the woods a bit. Well it is really soft and wet still (some areas the frost is just finishing coming out by the woods) Sunk het down fsat. Put her in 4wd and lifted the cutter and she walked right out!. <br>
Question??? While plowing, is it best just to keep it in 4wd? It was too wet to really plow the whole field but not that bad, But it seemed like I needed 4wd I did not want to strain it so I was plowing in 4wd. Is that normal?<br>
Anyway I am really happy with the tractor, cant wait to get back there with some new impliments and get some fiels going soon!

I have a 99 790. it's 30 hp!!! of coarse it will. That tractor has alot more sack then you know of. You just need to learn how to operate it!!

with a rfm i'd recomend rear discharge do the the fact that it will be earyer to get around objects with out the chute getting in the way.

How do most of you fill your tractors? Right now I'm building my house and only have a small shed, so I bring up a 5 gallon diesel can as I run errands. It works ok for filling my kubota, but there must be better/easier ways. What options do you guys recommend for stationary tanks, and what drawbacks/advantages are there?<br>

Also, I suppose the diesel I use in my tractor could be tax exempt if I was using it in the tractor for agricultural work on my 50 acres. Is that the case? How different is this diesel from the diesel that comes out of the filling stations? Do I have a farm/fuel delivery stop by and top off my storage tank, and buy it without the excise taxes? Would that diesel work in pickup trucks/etc (farm related of course :)<br>

muletrain, I like your answer. I'm thinking my deal will be about $25K, and I plan on putting down at least $10K. Were there any restrictions with the financing that I should be aware of? such as:

a - Were you able to order anything you wanted for the tractor or were you limited to "in stock" items?
b - Can you make extra principal payments to cut the loan time down (not a problem if 0.0 financing)?
c - Can you pay off the loan early without any penalty?

I am considering a BX-23, even though it's really over-budget right now. Plan to do landscaping on 2.5 acres, plus snow removal. Doesn't seem to be much market in used BX-22/23s here in eastern Mass. <br>

One of my main jobs is lifting out fair-sized trees and shrubs for transplanting. The backhoe is way too small to go over them. Has anyone ever heard of mounting a bucket backwards so it scoops away from the machine? <br>

Other questions, if anyone here knows: What's the largest bucket that the machine will mount? 16" would be more useful to me than the little one that seems standard. Also, I need to shape a bunch of slopes from beneath. How far up and out will the backhoe reach, and can it push good-sized rocks (say 300#) up-slope? What about pushing rocks sideways on level ground by swinging the BH?<br>

Make sure that your revenge is subtle and part of your normal daily routine. Don't be hasty. Think about it for a while. Make sure the payback occurs over a period of months or years. It can appear to be vindictive - that's OK as long as you have a dual purpose for what you are doing. Trust me - I have years of experience in these matters.

I'd said I'd stay shy of the design part of the floor, but perhaps the use of torsion box structures to span the joists would add an imense amount of load bearing strength. Peters; I'm sure your familiar with torsion boxes, they simply two sheets of 3/4 ply with a 2x4 frame spaced on 16 in centers sandwiched between them held together with construction adhesive and deck screws. We used to mount some super heavy shop machines on them with heavy duty casters on the four corners to make them portable. I honestly think you could park a pickup on one without hardly flexing it. The stronger it needs to be you simply use 2x6's or 2x8's then with full inch ply instead of 3/4. Please understand I don't have any idea of the load bearing strengh in actual numbers of these boxes, we just built them till they looked twice as strong as we needed and never did break one. Just another thought. Frank.

I just bought a Bushhog Razor Back 60" cutter for my B7500. I have never used a rotary cutter before. I am having a great deal of difficulty determining how to connect the cutter to the tractor to get it level. I have read several posts tonight and see reference to setting the 3ph then attaching the toplink. My understanding from reading the manual for my tractor is that you use the adjuster link on the right hand lower arm to level an implement and use the top link for height. If I set the lower links level and use the top link to adjust height one of two things occurs. If I set the top link so I can transport the cutter with the rear wheel off the ground when I lower the unit the front is on the ground and the rear much higher. If I set the top link so the cutter is level on the ground I cannot lift it clear. Can someone explain to me in easy to understand terms how to connect this thing to my tractor correctly. Thanks.

if you have anti sway bars use them to offset the mower and you should be able to get close enough.is your mower large enough to cver your tire tracts offset?

the tn tractors are a good mid horse tractor major taction good power to wieght. what trans to you have 8x8? shuttle shift? loader?<br>
what kind of work will you be doing that you need super steer? They are all pretty good now. When the tn forst came out there were a few bugs in the system but they have been worked out. and if you buy used they are probly gone now to due to warrenty work required by nh to fix all the probs. they had.

a new engine will not reset the warrenty it is like when you buy a new starter or altornater they warrenty the componate.so only the engine would be cover normally from six months to two years depending on where the engine was purchased. I'm not sure on nh engines do tho the fact that we have never had to replace a compact engine before.

they are nice if you will be doing a lot of direction changes or loader work if your are not it is really not worth the expence. there are not any problems that i am aware of at this time.

just make sure you use some sort of thread sealed either teflon tape or pipe dope on all pipe fittings. 37 degree jic fittings i tighten them till they are tight you will know when that is. o-ring seals you can only tighten so much till the two faces meet. if your hoe is run off the power beyond circut there really is not pressure when the tractor is not running because it automaticly relives it self due to being an open center system. good luck it is all very easy to do.
