I work at nh delealer we do do other dealers warrenty work but allot of those people try their local dealer who might say they'll fix it but not for a couple weeks then they start calling around. but around our area most people will buy from us anyway cause nobody else can touch our price or reputation. what i should have said is that make sure you get any service agrement in writting especialy from super market tracor stores.

Well a lot of funny posts here. I do think it definately means more for some reason when it comes delivered rather than just getting it from the dealer that day.

The only thing more I would have expected from my dealer (he could be "listening" to this also...) was that I thought it would be nice a few days after delivery to at least call and see if everything was ok and that I was satisfied....I mean I would have if I were a salesman who sold $12k worth of machinery, but after she was dropped off I never heard another word. Well, except for the payement book and the hat..but of course that's from Deere.

ps I was thinking the same thing about the little card with the hat since I know the 4110 is made in Japan, that the workers on that card looked awfully non-Asian...but anyone that bitches about JD having to have things made overseas to compete only has our own BS foreign trade policy to blame...I mean the company has to compete or they will die. Hard to compete with a dollar a day wage while some greedy union bum here in the US is making $25/hour plus bennys and still wants more! But sorry I guess that's another subject... :)

Matt, I'll put in my two cents worth. All this talk about the B7800 is making me even more anxious to get mine. Probably this weekend but having to wait on the MMM. I decided on the 7800 after all. I considered moving up to the L3130. With nothing to really base my opinion on except the good words on this forum, soon I'll be the proud owner of a B7800. Life is good! Happy tractoring to all.

I have a Ferrari 95 from the mid 1980s. Mine is the articulated model with about 30 HP.

These are great tractors, you'd be amazed at the power that these tractors can deliver to the ground. Dual power take off is very cool.

My machine has a front loader (not Ferrari) that works OK, but these machines are not really suited to a loader, unless you are just lifting light bulkly items. Trying to do serious front loader work causes two problems; first the bucket places a huge load on the articulation bearings and second, the wheel base is very short requiring lots of counterweight on the back. That makes more stress/wear on the articulation joint bearings. I'm in the process of replacing those bearings on my tractor, it's not a hard thing to do, nor is it very expensive, but it is one more thing on the ever-growing list of "to dos".

Good to hear it was nothing too serious. It's strange that you can't get the plug from Deere - maybe they want you to buy an entire harness or something. I assume by hard wired they crimped some connectors on the wires and plugged them in individually. That should work and if they get caught again it will be easy to fix.

$There is a top detent for the lever to fall into when you raise the 3point all the way. If you pull it a fraction of an inch too high it does what these guys are saying..(good work guys!!!) I never noticed the problem on my 4100 but I have seen it happen on the 4115. If letting it rest in the detent does not cure the problem it should go back to the dealer ASAP.$ 4110 VIBRATION

Harvey, I need very little distance - maybe 1/4 inch. I haven't tried your solution yet which was rapping the plastic cover back. I will take a look at that.

Hardwood, I was never good at simple solutions. But like you, I rarely take the hoe off. I keep saying I am going to do it next weekend, but I keep finding one more job for the hoe. Meanwhile my yard is all torn up because I never use the 3pt attachments to clean up.

Far as I know sitting everything down on the deck is far better practice although I'm not sure owner's manuals contain warnings. Trailoring can produce very high load shocks at highway speed and I have heard of hoes and maybe loaders breaking things. However, I don't recall anything about damage to the hydraulics.

Virtually all 3ph's and many loader valves etc. have their own circuit reliefs that guard against high load shocks when control valves are in neutral. These reliefs usually are set around 1,500 lbs. above system relief pressures but their presence in a system would limit the severity of very high load shocks. Depending on circuit reliefs wouldn't do the hydraulics any favours though.

I think there's some info in the archives about manuals and maybe the pump as well. Depending on what's wrong and the particular pump, a diesel large shop might be able to help with rebuilding but I wouldn't bet much on success. I'm also not sure that a typical repair manual would contain enough specs for an independent rebuilder to find OEM parts or fabricate custom parts if necessary.

I hope an easy solution pops up here but it's a tough situation. It's probably easiest to look for a used one or make contact with somebody who works with Japanese companies.

I think both of you should write that book. My wife started writing children's books several years ago from ideas she been thinking about for over 20 years. It's a good and satisfying thing to do. It also hard work and takes a lot of time.

A few years before you soled I spend an evening with family. My father flew commercially and a fellow pilot's brother was visiting. He was a senior biologist for the Alaska government. I don't remember how senior or the exact agency. It was an evening of fascinating stories for me in my late teens. Many of the stories were about flying and if your experiences were anywhere similar it would make a fascinating book. The main thing about writing is that it's good to have a story you really really want to tell, and that's a large part of the satisfaction as well.

I think I also soled in '61 in a Luscombe 8E. I joined the AF before completing my license and ironically have been only a passenger ever since.

Despite the satisfaction of writing, getting a publisher interested is like winning a lottery. Actually selling books is mostly about small margins and mass distribution. Large publishers have large distribution. 'Do-it-yourself' publishing or 'vanity' publishing houses don't and the efforts usually come nowhere near to making back costs. But profit really isn't the point.

My wife self-published her books and by controlling production costs it has kept the costs down to what could be called recreation. She's also managed to tell her stories to hundreds of people beyond family and friends.

I've also wondered how those things work. I looked at one from Land Pride on a dealers lot before I knew what it was. I think you set it at an angle similar to a rear blade then the rotating drum sorta kicks the rocks into a swath. Maybe someone can help us both out. Frank.

Art is correct to steer you to the wheelbase dimension for comparable machines. My 4110 has a turning radius of 7.5 feet without brakes, as opposed to the 7.5 turning radius of the 4115 using brakes. The cause is a significantly longer wheelbase and wheel/tire size on the 4115 (a good thing for many applications). The result in the 4110 design is a much smaller uncut patch of grass mowing with a belly mower with the steering locked (full limit of steering wheel). This is the essential reason I chose the 4110 over the 4115, i.e., I mow approximately 80-100 hours each year and I do dodge 50+ well-planned tree plantings. If I had to balance the "scale of utility" upward toward greater machine weight and PTO power, I would have a 4115 right now. The numbers will never lie to you and you should pick the machine and class that suits your primary use. Pete
