I'd say you did well. I looked for a long time for a good deal on a 2400 or 2410 and couldn't find one. If the machine is in good shape and had been properly maintained, you will get a lot of good use from it.

Mikef54..took the chains off last wk. Wouldn't of helped, though, with all 4 airborn. Normally I don't want to move snow off the grass lest it cause a winter kill but this year getting to my sheds required snowshoes. I just shouldn't have waited until there was 4' with crust layers.

b8fish..the come-a-long is now situated in the ballast box along with 50' of chain.

If you don't have the $150 transport fee I think its a decent deal for $750 for a 3 year extension. If anything is going to fail it will probably fail within 5 years. I can see having peace of mind for something that is so expensive - I usually like my 7 year, 100000 mile warranty on cars. Especially if your wife is in agreement.

I don't think I will go for it. I have the additional $150 fee, plus I didn't get in within the one year window. I called the dealer about 2 days before my first year was up - but he never got back to me. I know I could push the issue, but I guess I'll take my chances. I'll be watching my tractor very close this last year of my warranty to make sure everything is in perfect condition. I will just keep my fingers crossed.

I'm new to TP.com. Hoping for some input. I'm in the market for my first tractor and am considering the TZ along with a JD 2210, Massey GC2300, Kubota BX2230. It doesn't seem like there is alot of difference and it may come down to $$$. Anybody have pricing info for the TZ24 with a FEL and 54"MMM? The local dealers haven't rec'd a unit yet and claim no idea of price. Any help would be appreciated.

I get new Kioti's in that have interference between the throtle linkage and the fuel shut off cable. They will leave to much excess cable and it will get caught in the throtle. Also some develope a twist that sticks the cable in the linkage. Have had similuar mysteries on several. Have someone work the throtle and watch.
Just had a 55 do this last week and if you push the stop in and out it would start. Easy fix sort the stop cable.

Hope yours is this simple.

You are asking for trouble with this setup. Borrow a "real" tow vehicle, ie 3/4 ton Pickup (even a Ford would do). Having owned several Grand Cherokees I can vouch for the fact that 2 Harleys on a 12' trailer was pushing the Jeep around quite a bit. The thought of near 7000# on a tandem trailer behind a Jeep makes me want to stay home.

at first i didn't like it either but now i dont like the old ones the stacked head lights create more light with the fel than the old ones and they have more "sex" apeale now too

Sorry to hear about your back surgery. From my perspective the RH 66 commanche helicopter was a taxpayer waste of money. This stealth helicopter has been in development since the early 1980's and to date after 20 plus years NOT one RA 66 has or will be delivered to the US Armed Forces till the projected year 2008??????? What good is military hardware if it takes 25 years to get to the battlefield. If this length was acceptable I would writing this in German or Japanese since we would have never got weapons systems to the front lines with the speed of the Commanche program!!!! I think that commanche program was a Boeing/General Dynamics program and they milked it for ALL it was worth. A defense contractor NEVER wants to see his weapons program come to an end and unfortunatley the people who work for the contractor suffer when they lose their jobs. This is the human cost of rich people getting richer by having the US taxpayer pay for an undelivered weapons system that lasted 25 years.

Hi everyone. I just discovered this site and the timing couldn't be better. I have recently purchased 65 acres of land, and am embarking on building our next home. The land is all sand and gravel, with pines and clear areas. I want to put in the drive,(~1000'), dig for the septic and tiles, clear trees and stumps, and use the unit for lifting and moving construction materials. <br>
When construction is done I foresee using the tractor as a forklift for my work, for landscaping the lot, and for rough cutting the open areas. I will keep my Gravely lawn tractor for finish mowing.<br>
I have looked at some Ford 1720 units but now I have found a Kubota 3300 with a 9' hoe and a large loader in my $ range (22K CDN) and would welcome any feedback on the suitability and reliability record of this machine. Also how does the Glideshift work? Do you have to clutch for forward / reverse?<br>

A few months ago, there was some discussions about boosting the lifting capacity of the 790 (loader and 3pth) by about 20%, by adding shims to the main relief valve (from 2045 psi (default) to ~2400/2500 psi).<br>
To those who did the modification, did you have any problems since then (i.e. defective pump, hose/couplers leaking, etc.) ?<br>
I'm planning to do the same mod. but would like to hear your feedback first.<br>

I can't believe what tractor dealers'quote for rear hydraulics installation when all it involves is a Tractor Supply bought 67 dollar valve and some hydraulic hose and fittings run to the front loader. My local Kubota dealer wants 800 dollars to put 2 wet lines to the back of my B-2150. I got the valve, hose and fittings for less that 140.00 and plan on doing it myself when I get some time. IT is not a big deal and it surely should not command a 800 price tag by any tractor dealer.

My 2 cents,

I had both......In my opinion, for mowing,tiling and some blade work hydro is the way to go. I sold my Bolens Garden Tractor (hydro) for a kubota compact (gear) and while I moved up in tractor capabilities and performance, I dearly miss the hydo tranny of the Bolens, especially when mowing. My next tractor will absolutely be a hydro, even if I have to sacrafice other features to ba able to afford it.
