Cool deal, thanks for the baseling. I was not sure what a standard discount was in the industry. I have never bought a tractor, and I figure this one might just last me a lifetime.

Seems like we just had a discussion about a 2nd hand Kobota trans going to lunch. Costs were discussed.

The debate will go on forever.

Personally I prefer the clutches. But then again in 40+ years of operating I have never had a clutch failure. But if I did I am very confident in my ability to repair. I would not have a clue where to start looking for a HST failure. Nor am I inclined to have to buy the additional test equipment.

I have replaced many clutches as prevenative maintenance. So that may why I've never had a failure.

Looking at the JD 4400 shop manual the clutch packs in the CUTs are fairly straight forward an not a big deal.

I bought one of those saeveral months ago and it works great.Looks like it is well built.I bought it to use on our garden and my daughter in laws.Once you use one of these you probably will not ever go back to a rear tine.I have it on my BX 1800 and by the time you cut the driveshaft it is pretty short.They told me it would be there on a certain date and it was.Very pleased with it.

I would not even consider the light duty after a year of use it will be pretty banged up, unless you plan on being very "light duty " with your loader. I have a TC33D w/ a 60" heavy duty bucket. My dealer would not even sell me a light duty bucket. I has worked and held up very well.

It's frequently mentioned here that Kubota recommends a break-in period, but JD doesn't mention it in the manual and it sounds as if NH doesn't either. Tom makes some good points about general new engine issues.

I assume that a 'rear scraper blade' is what I call a box scraper. I can't help much with the particular brands except that Woods is very well known. I have a mid-quality after-market one that's worked just fine for years. Depending on frequency and type of use, a person doesn't have to pay top-of-line prices to get an implement that's going to do the work just fine for as long as the tractor is owned. Some features are available that run up the price but are not especially important for most homeowner uses.

For box scrapers, I'd first compare the weights. For the same lengths, the heaviest is often the best. Heavy ones cut better and also are usually more rugged. The weight does have to be within the 3ph capacity though. It's common to choose implements that are the same length as the rear tire tracks. Mine is a foot wider and there are advantages and disadvantages that were discussed here recently. I consider a hydraulic top-link almost essential for box scraper use, so you might include one in the cost estimates.

I can give you a comparison. I just bought a JD770 with bucket and 850 hrs for $9500 including new AG tires, midPTO, ROPS w/canope and 52" mower deck all in great shape. I then found a Wood 750 for $3500 (not sure of age) but isn't new. Helpful?

I thought it was a little pricey when I bought mine last spring, but it is one tough machine, I think a better dollar value than the lighter duty models, with proper care I doubt that an MX5 would ever actually wear out. I had it on the 4310 with the loader on and it seemed to be a well ballanced rig. Onec in a while i would get into some wheel high stuff that would tax the 4310 some so I would cut it about a foot high then wait a day till the fresh cut clippings had dried out then go back a second time to cut it shorter. I did'nt check out a lot of other brands, but the ones I did check looked pretty limp compared to the Deere, but really were'nt enough less money to make them attractive. Frank.

What should I expect to pay for a John Deere 2010 with FEL, anda 62" mower? Any recommendations on dealers in the Dallas, Texas area? I would entertain buying out of state for the right price. <br>

I am a homeowner with just 2 acres. But I like the IM502 brush chopper for chopping small brush in my lower yard. I chainsaw the rest of the wood for the fireplace. Move your brush to a remote area of your property, place in rows, and chop it up when you feel like it. It cost less than the Troy Bilt 8HP chipper I bought years ago (which I found to be useless), and gets the job done without burning - which my town doesn't allow. Also, clearing some areas and helping the neighbors out is fun.

I'll tell you that I would spend more time shopping for a dealer if I had to do it over again. I can never get my JD dealer to call back - even when I give him the part number I want and I just want a price, or question about warranty extension. They are always too busy to call back. As was discussed in this forum, I would look to where the local farmers go - and in this area I think it may be the NH dealer.

Branson and their manufacturer are now partnered, Century will end up fazing out. TYM is already in bed with Kubota along with a half a dozen other companies.Mahindra is in with Mitsubishi. The only thing that's really happening is the big are getting bigger, and everone else is going away or putting on a new face.

We use a Branson 4020 here at the shop for everything from moving raw materials(steel)Hay in my horse barn, moving dead John Deeres off of peoples trailers when they bring them in for repairs.Moving snow in town, hauling out all 3 neighbors elk just up the mountain from us.Plus, I've got ground that's nearly straight up and down,,, It's my favorite for running the chemical tank. (can't mow it because of stumps and steepness) Anyhow, I really don't think you could buy a better piece of machinery. I've sold & serviced Kiotis, Cub Cadets, China Tractors, greys, and more, so far the Bransons have been the least profitable but, it's been my personal favorite for my own needs. Second favorite is my Kioti that I use as a rental. It's puny but reliable as the day is long. Again Congrats!

Sorry, didn't notice you where down under there. I used a hydraulic pipe bender to form my arms, Worked pretty well with 1/2" stock for the arms. Have fun.
