Al,<br>Thank you for your interest, truth is I have taken alot of 'banging' over a response in regards to this subject.<br>Yes, all new tractor models have first season glitchs, we have had our share of problems but deere as a company won't let these problems go unanswered.<br>I would say there is not a real reason to wait for the next model year. We have waited a long time to get new product to sell and these tractors have the changes we have asked for all along.<br>I will still stand by my opinion that the waiting peroid from the factory is worth it. ( I hate that it is so long, it has made it tough this year )<br>Anyhow, if you would like to chat some more about the details, please email me again, the kids have kept me busy all day and my brain is a little thin tonight.<br>Last point, definately consider Deere some more before your final decision. Please let me know what other models you are considering I would like to here what you are looking at.<br>Thank you<br>Jay

Hi,<br>I had the same problem with my 4300. As it turned out, there was a transmission o-ring leaking. It was located under the seat, where the rate of drop for the three point hitch mounts to the transmission. <br>Lou

As long as the amps of the tractor's alternator are more than your lights, starter draw and whatever else (radio, gps, whatever) times some adequate safety margin (1.5?) you can modify away with a reasonable likelihood of better vision.

Thanks Bart,<br>I was thinking of the 25KW gen. only because of cost. We have two 3/4 well pumps, three 15cuft freezers and refrig, a coal furnace w/hot water(1/6 hp blower plus two recirc pumps, a gas stove, a couple 1000w water heaters in the barn, electric dryer, washing machine and other standard house appliances. I figure if we don't run the dryer and not run the toaster,microwave, coffe pot all at once I would probably be good at 12-13KW. Does that sound close? Also I ran 125' of #2 aluminum cable to the shop last fall, would you know the amount of current that would be good for just in case I want 100 amps?<br>Thanks<br>Jim<br>PS. LOL<br>I followed all of the previous instructions I've gotten here... you were all so helpful -- I was really impressed that you took the time to explain so clearly to me what needed to be done (as in how to hose off the front of the radiator from the back -- I just would not have thought of that!). I flushed the radiator out with the stuff (that was recommended) and followed the directions... and everything seems to be working really well... I ran the little tractor for about an hour and a half yesterday and - it was fine! It didn't overheat at all. (before, the longest I could run it without it boiling over was 10 minutes!) I just can not tell everyone enough how much I appreciated the assistance I've received at this site!

A couple tips from a farmer that hooks up 3 point items that are too big to move by hand. <br>1. Back up to implement<br>2. attach higher lift arm <br>3 Lift 3 point & move tractor till other arm is aligned with implement & attach.<br>4. Either raise or lower implement or adjust top link till it can be fastened<br>

It was just slightly low on the dip stick. I think it was caused by my hooking the hydraulic system to an implement that had been sitting around for a long time and it needed fluid which it took from the tractor.<br>Thanks for your comment.<br>

Del, there's been a lot of discussion about this matter on other discussion boards. About the only way the brakes can be used for steering is if you are also using the cruise control at the same time. If that's an important consideration for you, you might want to look more at other brands. I like the Kubota arrangement; I just never use the brakes for steering.

I have a 4600 MFWD w/loader and backhoe...paid a cool 30k and it runs perfect. Not sure what you mean by marketing hype and JDs suffering from US management and marketing push....looked at the kubotas, nice machine but seemed like a toy compared to the big boy 4600 IMHO. Local Kubota dealer here in Maine has about twenty compacts sitting on his lot. JD dealer is backordered about six months...go figure

The B8200HST tractors were(are) very reliable. I owned one for ten years and the total cost for parts and repairs to the tractor was less than $10 for a tachometer cable. The belly mower did require periodic repairs and the parts were not inexpensive. I have seen a couple of B8200HST tractors with low hours for sale in the KC area w/o loaders for $8000. After owning mine for 10 years, I got within $500 of its original purchase price out of it. Therefore I used it for 10 years for less than $1000 counting all maintenance and repairs--wish I could do the same with a car. I have had far more difficulties with my new JD4400 in six months than with my Kubota in ten years.
