I'm looking at a 1986 B8200. It has 390 hours,4x4,kubota bucket, hydrostat, roll bar and turf tires. There asking $9,000.00 for it. I think I can get it for $8,000.00. Is this a good deal and how reliable is the hydrostat on this particular model?

The B8200HST tractors were(are) very reliable. I owned one for ten years and the total cost for parts and repairs to the tractor was less than $10 for a tachometer cable. The belly mower did require periodic repairs and the parts were not inexpensive. I have seen a couple of B8200HST tractors with low hours for sale in the KC area w/o loaders for $8000. After owning mine for 10 years, I got within $500 of its original purchase price out of it. Therefore I used it for 10 years for less than $1000 counting all maintenance and repairs--wish I could do the same with a car. I have had far more difficulties with my new JD4400 in six months than with my Kubota in ten years. ....
