It sounds like you guys have a lot of knowledge about 3pt tillers. I was wondering if anyone has suggestions on what manufacturer, model, and size tiller I should purchase for my Ford 1210? I would also like to get any feedback on price, and a place in upstate New York where I might purchase one.

Tommy:<br>Have you removed the two set screws securing the instument panel to the tractor and have you disconnected the panel from the wire harness? If so, you will now need to do some bench work; this must be a dust-free environment. The tractor will be down for the next few days, if this is a problem, just schedle the next proceedure until such time that the tractor can be idle a few days. These next installation step must not be rushed.<br>Please advise me if you have all the aforementioned parts. In addition you'll need a 12 inch lengh of 22 AWG copper stranded insulated wire (light weight automobile electrical wire) and a soldering iron with a small chisel point, some rosin core solder and a small tube of silicone sealer. Do you have or know someone with general low volt electronic knowledge?<br>At the rear side of the panel remove the small philip screws to separate the lens and gray plastic gauge trim from the main panel housing. Carefully, slide out the gas gauge from the panel (place in a sandwich type plastic bag) Notice the three post connectors. The objective is to install three like post for the temperature gauge. I will explain how this is done once you confirm you have all the tools and parts. Please advise....................<br>You can immediately remove the blank plate in the gray panel trim for the temperature gauge. I used a zip router to establish a rough opening (excerise caution; the trim is ABS plastic, strong but it will crack. This is not a part you can order) you can drill several one inch holes, next start to nibble away at the surrounding plastic using a pair of wire cutters (I have a pair wire cutters that have wide cutting edges that are perpendicular to the handles, like a little jaws, excellant for nibbling away at the plastic. Sorry, I don't know the tool name). Nibble the plastic to as close as you can to the finish edge and file to finish, I used a convex wood file (1 side flat the other side rounded), rat tail file and a emmery fingernail file for the final pass, It finished like a factory cut. <br>I promise, we'll finish up soon.

Hi. I am looking at a used JD-920 Utility Tractor. I have researched this and believe that the 920 is a Canadian version of the JD-820 ('68-75). I was wondering how you can visually tell if the tractor is equipped with Power Steering? The tractor I am looking at is without PS and would appear to be non-functioning (steers really hard). Based on my research thus far, I believe this model tractor 820/920 has the PS built internal into the center of the tractor. (internal to the transmission housing). Was wondering if anyone could give any pointers on how to detrmine if this tractor has Power Steering and how involved any repairs might be? Also, does anyone know if a manual steering 820/920 tractor can be aftermarket converted to have PS? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!<br>Regards<br>Mark<br>

Doug: You don't mention what position the loader was in, or if even attached, at the time it was 3 qts. low. If it was partially raised, or even just the bucket rotated, you are using hydraulic fluid, therefore changing levels. Hyd. fluid should be at

Your tractor is a Case VAC,I am getting ready to restore one that my uncle had,its sitting in a pasture now...needs some work but what the hey.As the last poster noted yours is a 1953,you subtract 4 from the first two numbers of the serial number to get the year number.There is lots of info on the yesterday's tractor website,they deal with old tractors in general.I will put the link below...BTW they were offered in a few different styles,single tricycle wheel in front,dual tricycle,and a wide front.Which do you have?Does it have hydraulics?They are supposed to have hydraulics standard and also the dual tricycle wheels are supposed to be standard on the VAC.Keep in touch with me if you're gonna rebulid it,we might could learn from each other!!!!

I'm not sure if this helps but with 430 loader on 4300, bucket level went in with no problem. It fit exactly as required, no cutting.

Thanks for the help Paul. I am pretty shure I will get a rake for my new Kiot 3054 when it gets here. I was thinking of a 7' rake but maybe a 6' would be better for my plans of moving lots of stuff. And I think the wheels are a good Idea also. We have a local central tractor that has them in stock at a good price. <br>Mario<br>

Dave, the original specs for that tractor called for a 8A or 8B backhoe. I am not sure how the 10A compares in size to the 8 series. A good rule of thumb is that the backhoe should be about 1/3 the weight of the tractor. Hope this helps...Good luck.

Take a look at the frey blades at www.easternfarmmachinery.com they are heavy duty and you can throw a 3x8 cyl. in for angling.

Ben,<br>I have been shopping for a compact tractor & have benefited from reading this site's messages. I like the JD 4300 & 4400, but am worried about all the design problems I've read here. What is your experience w/the units you've sold? Do you know of any design changes JD will make in the future? Does anyone know of a vendor that makes tire chains for the compacts that use non-metallic bars in place of the cross chains. Am using a JD755 w/ turf tires for snow removal and do not want to tear up pavement. Any suggestions/recomendations. Thanks in advance.
