Even very small amounts will make any iron based alloy turn to unstable brittle crap. Some of our old cars (crushed whole) have more than an acceptable amount in them (wires starters, etc) and when melted whole will turn out bad metal. Tractors craking are likely made with some of this contaminated alloy. Most US car makers make there blocks out of cast iron which is as pure as most low alloy soft steels and are very hard to break.Do you think we get get the facts from our tractors Manufacturers as to what the mix is. mario ">  Weight Diff between BrandsCub Cadet Replies 13 Post by mario   Bucket forks Other Tractor Brands Replies 14 Post by craig I plan on skidding as big a tree as I can with this system on a Ford 1500 4wd...first on the hit list tho are 80' aspens that need a major thinning. Can we start a discussion on what to do with aspen/popple/poplar since this whole project started for me because since I coulndt get any loggers to do the job for the logs I figured that for the money I would spend I could get most of the equipment myself :-)I am open to any suggestions anyone can give...I have learned more in the last 4 weeks about tractors and logging and falling trees than I ever had the slightest idea ever existed!Kim ">  Location of PTO receiver on Implement Other Tractor Brands Replies 4 Post by Kim Hartshorn   JOHN DEERE 4000 SERIES FLASHER LIGHT GUARDS John Deere Tractors Replies 11 Post by Jason MacKenzie   Wanted Kubota loader for B6100D 4x4 all equip Loaders Back Hoes Replies 3 Post by TRACTORMAN   Bolens Diesel Tractor PartsSnowblowers / Snow Plows Replies 4 Post by Mike   Front End Loader for Honda 5518 Multi-Purpose TractorLoaders Back Hoes Replies 22 Post by Mike   Duerr 8hp chipperOperating and Attachments Replies 2 Post by Brian Schuldt   Best time to buyJohn Deere Tractors Replies 3 Post by Frank   4300 Transmission Leak Other Tractor Brands Replies 5 Post by BS A light coat of oil on the hose would hurt either. Lastly, dark ones work the best, they show the collected dirt better, which better tells you when to change your "pre-filter". BTW, Woman aren't fond of you cutting newly purchased Pantyhose for purpose of dirt filtering on your tractors.
