Okay, one more guys. How much down pressure can you put on a landscape rake with out wrecking it. My son wants to plant some clover as a replacement ground cover in several places as "wildlife management". If we hit the area with round up and went over it well with a landscape rake, would we get the ground loose enough to broadcast spread the clover seed so it would take well? If you think this would work, I might not need a plow or a tiller. You experienced guys wanna weigh in on this thought? Thanks.

Hi guys: I use my B7500 for logging a lot and had problems getting the logs into a neat pile. I was using the FEL and the logs would slip off the bucket. I made a set of forks from an overload spring off a large truck. Cut the spring in half and welded the parts to a flat bar 1/4" thick by 4" wide and long enough to go across the inside lip of the bucket. Drilled holes and bolted it to the bucket. The setup gives me two forks about 12" long that I can slide under the log and roll back the bucket to lift it. Then goes onto the pile nice and neat. Total cost of the forks zip as it was all scrap I had laying around. Different forks for different jobs.

personally ive never heard of a "lenar" but u get what u pay for i would suggest sticking with a more nationaly known tractor. and look at the other guys name "LENARguy" come on now

Oly, there is an alternative method to the welding that could have saved you some grief, and maybe some cash. The bolt-on replacement cutting edge for the 6ft HD JD (110 tlb)bucket mounts to the bottom of the bucket with seven counter sunk bolts. Grind the damaged edge so that it will mate flush with the bolt-on edge, clamp the new edge in place, transfer drill from the bottom, and c-sink the seven holes, (nuts go on top)and now you have a replaceable edge. Yes, the new edge will be fatter at the lip, but I still think it is cheaper than welding. Once I plasma cut a damaged edge off of a Woods five foot loader bucket and rewelded a new edge on. I must have gone through an easy $20.00 worth of mig wire and the better part of a day. The plasma cut was the toughest to make straight, required grinding a bevel all along the length of the area to be welded, before welding, but I took it slow and it worked out well. I think you may be able to bolt on the replaceable edge as described above with the JD 4in1.

I guess I could see that the 93 was some how transfered to a 98. Hours are generally more critical than the year. As long as the tractor is in good shape I wouldn't quibble too much. You might want to look at the book values and determine what the difference is? My source lists the 4K. It also lists a 98.
Batteries will last up to 10 years. I had a Volvo (Varta) battery last that long.
In north america we had the Exide, the darth vader of batteries do a number on the industry. Mr. Exide was finally kicked out after they went in the red, so maybe the newer ones are better.

Now I have bought a King Kutter tiler. It came with a slip clutch from the MFG. The worry is that there are no springs on the clutch to adjust the tension. The guy that sold it to me said this is the latest model of slip clutches.<br>
I am going to have to make a call to the MFG to verify this. Long distant calls are eating me alive. <br>
Maybe someone else has seen this new clutch ??????????????????????

the tc55da is a brand new tractor! it has a 12x12 trans and optional (but highly recomented and inexpencive) clutchless forward reverse electric shuttel control. It's engine is borrowed from the nh ls 170 skid steer, which is a very relyable and trouble free engine.

I called the dealer I bought it from and he said the speeds are as follows. #1 540, #2 750, #3 1000, #4 1200.
I knew when I bought this grey market tractor, The one that would get me where I need to go to service my deer plot's, that I would have to learn alot of things on my own. I am glad I found this sight. I just hope I don't regret not buying an older Ford or Massey.

Neil,

I appreciate what you're saying. The problem is the nearest dealer is over 50 miles away. When I can order parts in 10 minutes Saturday night instead of blowing half a day and $10 in gas, it's worth it to me to pay the 20%. It would be different if there was a dealer just down the road.

I'm sure there are others who offer great service and I'll check your site next time I order. The reasons I went with TractorSmart this time were they provided the parts book online, they provide prices online, and their online order process was well thought out and easy to use. If you provide equal services for 20% less, I'll be happy to give you my next order.

I am also considering a TDI. Too a beetle for a spin the other day (2001 TDI 4sp.). I was impressed with the power of the little diesel. What is the economy like on your units?

Landscape rakes are inexpensive and do a nice job of tending trails in the spring. Dump box seems like a good alternative to a FEL. You may consider a rear scoop if you have dirt or gravel to move about without a FEL. Northern and several others carry both,<br>

At my place, the FEL completes the versatility of the tractor. Might be able to do without, but wouldn't want to. It gets used more than any other implement.<br>

By the way, that CK20 is a NICE machine. CK 25 and 30 coming soon. The only thing that kept me from buying one was a fantastic Kubota dealer and a sorry Kioti dealer.

As stated it is critical that you know what the mean ground temperature is in the are. If you have a deep well and can measure the temperature of the water it helps.
I am sure the type of soil helps. I have fine clay that is nearly 40% iron oxide. I can not think of a better heat sink except maybe water.
If you can place the pipe in a deep pond it would be best. Size the unit so you can heat the whole house and make provision so be able to add more pipe in the ground if you are loosing temperature of ground water.
I would get a IR gun so you can measure the temperatures of the incomming and exiting pipes.
I would suggest getting a natural gas contractor to install the pipe. You do not need to cut trenches as large as the bucket. A trencher will work as well.
I do not recommend crossing lines.

My proposed uses are mainly in my other post. As for winter, I don't expect to use the tractor much in the winter as we don't winter camp. Therefore I'm not considering a snowblower 'cause I figure the loader can handle any early or late snowfall I may get at camp. Most of the soil is very gravelly. almost no clay area. and only a couple spots near a small pond where I have to worry about a big mud problem. Plan to move some more gravelly soil over to the couple of low spots in the old logging trails I intend to use as tractor trails through the property.
