Should I fix the seal or not?
Just hauled the tractor home from the cabin and keep going out to the garage looking at it. I know what is going to happen if I start working on it, I will have more money into it than I will get out of it.

I work all day long repairing fixtures on machines, fixing broken tools, and just about anything production can mess up I have to get it back to working order. I thought it would be fun to work on this before selling it but everytime I go out there I keep thinking, "man I do this all day long, why do I really want to work even more every night just to make a few more bucks". I may just take some others advice (here) and get it running good and quit! Sell it to anyone wanting a runniong tractoer or a tractor to restore?
So what do you think, just repair the tire and get her running ok and list it?

One more thing Any idea howmuch they charge (roughly) to tube a tire? Is that the proper way to go?

I had originally thought to wait and see where I want them and weld them on myself, then I said, " DAH!!" And told the dealer to the center. He suggested 2 infront of the loader arms like all of you have said. I will inform him to put 2 infront of the arms and I am considering anouther in the middle (sounds like a good idea for straight pulls with only one cable.

Harvey for the foot of snow they might get once in a while I didn't think it would get the snow thru it in a winter that you will in a good month.

Go with a 5' cutter for your sized CUT, particularly if you go with a "medium-duty" unit, that can weigh 600+#
Make your decision on several factors:
- Are you mowing on flat, or hills (forget the 6' on hills)
- What gauge sheet metal is used?
- How heavy is the unit?
- Does it have a stump jumper blade?
- Good guards?
- Good rear wheel, solid or composite?
- Slip clutch or shear bolt?
- Strong edge around housing, to prevent damage (you will back into stumps or trees, guaranteed !)
Summary - you generally get what you pay for.

I am fairly new as a tractor owner. I did a great deal of research and narried the choices to green, orange, and blue. Then I started visiting the dealers and trying the tractors and tools I needed. Even tho I could get a better price on the Internet, I wanted to use a local dealer who would be there when I needed help. I chose orange because the dealer was willing to explain the various goods and bads of each color. And did a good job at it in words that meant something to a future tractor user. And it felt/rode better to me and the wife than the blue. And I was treated better than at the green.

People buy from people. I would rather someone tellme they do not know than to try and snow me or 'sell me' the line. I paid more but I am very sure it has already been worth it. And will continue to be.

OK.. someone please enlighten me on this subject! I will be hauling my soon-to-be newly acquired Cub Cadet 7305 Compact....tractor weighs in around 2800 lbs. Shortly thereafter, I'm adding the loader & backhoe, which adds another 2000 lbs....so at what point do I stop using straps and start using chains? I've got straps that have a 3300 lb working load, with 10K breaking load, using 4 of them....is that good enough? I'll be mostly hauling locally, but may (and will eventually) haul it long distance. <br>

Yea, the top/tilt hydraulics add to the resale value of the tractor - rather not separate the two. They are really handy when you use the box scraper - no need to get off the tractor to make adjustments. I have taken some quick photos, but tractorpoint.com wants me to upgrade to premium - I'm not anxious to do that if I end up selling the tractor. So, I reset my profile to display my email address. If you send me yours, I send the photos directly.

BTW: The place where I bought my tractor says, given the number of hours and the stuff I have, a fair price would be $14.5. That's what happens when you live in CA!

I'm up in Dawson Springs, Chief. And I bought one of those units from Clarksville. They're marketed as TractorKings - not FarmPros. And they come down by truck from Rural King's Mattoon (IL) central warehouse. <br>

The Honda eu series is in high demand it seems. While I have found some on ebay they have been going very close to the price of new one's. For the $$ vs. pounds I too like the eu2000i and two cost less than the eu3000i which weighs 134 pounds but is electric start. The eu2000i is 46 pounds each and two can be put together with cables to get 4000 watts surge/3200 cont. which makes them very portable. The eu1000i is very nice at 29 pounds but max out at 8 amps limiting its use with powertools but would be nice for work lights and battery charger use.

Nope! They are made in different countries by different companies . Both tractors are high quality . But they are trying for a different market. Kioti (IMHO ) is going for the no nonsense ,work it hard buyer . Kubota is going for the work it hard , but I'd like some extras buyer . All that seems to be changing with the new CK series .Personally I think it's great ! Competition always improves things . John

kadorken I drilled thru and used a 3/8" bolt. There are switches in the middle of the bar for each set.<br>

You can get a self tapper that size if drilling is not for you.<br>

The front lights are mounted normally on the top lip and the rear lights are upside down on the back lip.<br>

I have yet to hit my head on them. I have hit my head on my radio a couple of times. Did not see stars but am going to relocate it somewhere.<br>

Thanks for your input. I have done some shopping. J.D. is $5000.00 more expensive!!I have quotes from 2 of them. The dealer I am talking to is also a New Holland dealer and he thinks I can get more bang for my buck with Kubota. I don't have any other dealers in my area to work with except CAT. Still shopping on the net though.
