Your dealer should be providing you with the operator's manual which should cover this and other scheduled maintenance procedures. I recommend obtaining a manual from the dealer and follow the manual's information. Barring that, in my judgement; I would change the hydro fluid at least every 500 hours and at closer intervals under heavy duty use.

I was wondering if Jinma offers the newer style flat platform deck and moving shuttle shift transmission. I use the term moving shuttle shift because I have seen something about needing to come to a complete stop to use the shuttle shift. I also was curious if the Kama tractor was looked at when you where buying and what you thought of it?

I too would like a crate tractor to hold down cost. I need 30 hp. I don't want or need a FEL. but do need power steering and the flat deck and shuttle shift 4WD tractor. Tell me about the over all put together from the crate experience. bjr2351

This may seem crazy, but dealing with the finish mowing is less important than the landscaping or clearing the brush. My landscaping has matured, and now needs to be 'thinned'. Several small to mid sized trees and bushes are now too close. I'd like to both remove or move a number of them. I'd also like to make trails through the brush to the small creek/stream, and plant wild flower along the way. There are also a few of dead trees that need to be pulled out. I am also very tired of dealing with the snow. I have a snowblower, but it is useless with wet snow and slush. So being able to push a plow is top priority.

A BX sized machine with a backhoe would be about $5K less than a 4110 sized machine. The BX sized machine would cleary be ideal if I did not have the brush and wooded area. Yet, the 4110 is hardly a huge machine, and could clearly do the lawn if needed. Removing the FEL is amazing simple with the JD.
Having said that I don't want to waste money. The 2210 is out because of the backhoe issue. I plan to look at KUB this week.

How valueable is your time? I personelly would think about a small "cut" with a mower. I would use your atv for atv purposes, they are not exactly cheap either to replace. If you plan on staying there a long time, in the end having a dedicated machine just for the mowing may save you bucks in the long haul. It should last you the rest of your life and in the mean time you would have your atv living longer too? my .02 worth

I get a tax break if I agree to do a managed forrest program which the state sets up the timeline. The other 80 acres is taxed full blown. I was thinking? Isn't your forrest considered a small buisness which is actually gaining in value every year untill I am told to cut the trees by the state? I would need a tractor to do the general tree farm maintanance wouldnt I? I need a CPA in the family!!!! LOL

The tork ratings with the Diesel will allow you to use them bigger tires you seem to like without killing power. then if you need more hook up the Juice to it, And you'll have a screamer that when driven like an adult will out do the gasser in milage by far. them big tires really kill the milage on the gasser's no matter what gear your running.

I have had my BX2200 with 50" front mount snowblower and 48" boxblade for about 8 months now. Before that I used a 30 year old 14HP Ariens with blower. Even the Ariens would clear 12" of new snow off my 300' paved driveway. The Kubota doesn't even break a sweat. The box blade will scrape everything clean, to boot. In short, as a now removal tool, it's lethal.

The idea sounds like a lot of fine adjusting, valve feathering and moving the tractor. I think it might be a good idea to rent a machine to find out if it will do the job before buying something.

I've done a fair bit of 'wall truing' with a hoe and it takes time. All hoe movements are in arcs so no single movement can be taken very far without adjusting something else and keep a straight line. I guess whether it'd be a good application depends how undisturbed 'undisturbed' means. The equivalent of position control on the swing circuit also would save a bunch of time. I have heard of hoes with coordinated controls. They're supposed to handle most of the separate adjustments needed to keep level trench floors. Something like that might be very useful here.

Thanks for the reminder guys! My blower chute clogged several times yesterday when I forgot to run the pto long enough to clear the chute after stopping. I believe I forgot to reduce rpm when re-engaging the pto--not good practice at all.

Scotts tractors were JD tractors sold exclusivly at home depot. They stopped the Scotts line last year and replaced them with the JD 100 line. A good no frills lawn tractor. I have a G100 which is their garden tractor modal with a 25hp Kolher and a 54" deck, great ground clearance. I am very happy with it paid $3500. for it on a 10% off sale. So far works great cuts grass, pulls manure spreader,ect good luck.

LawGuy..Montana is nice, but, California is moving there wholesale and land prices are going out of sight. Ted Turner bought up a big chunk of the Bitteroot area.

I heard the words "budget deficiet" so many times during the tax cut debates that I wanted to throw up. And the morons settled on $350b over 10yrs. THEN, the prescription drug plan came up and I NEVER heard those words. I think THAT program is over $500b over 10yrs and climbing. But that's what money is for..buying votes. (Richard is not for sale)(it's not deep enough)

Our educational system is a joke. Feeding money into it is like good money after bad...thanks, NEA. Vouchers would bring some much needed competition to education. Then, maybe, all students would receive an education that brought students into our cultural values while teaching them to read, write and add & subtract.

We're on a slippery slope. Our military is the best, but I think it's been drawn down dangerously. I'm not sure that an all volunteer force is in our best interests, especially when we are so heavily committed around the world. We're about 3-4 heavy divisions short causing roational problems that will make recruiting much more difficult. Not to mention dealing with N. Korea..if that time comes. Catching up will be very hard to do.

Borders?? WHAT borders? It will take a serious dose of vigilantyism along the borders to wake Washington up. And that appears to be on the upsurge. (wake up Richard)

When law & order break down and survival is at stake the people WILL step in. Unfortunately, that's not the best way to restore order.

In the 1880's in Virginia City, Montana, Sheriff Plummer & his road agents ran things. The people had enough and lynched them all..along with 100 or so other folks over a year or so. Unfortunately, most of the later lynchings were of innocent people. That's the problem with vigilantes. BUT..law & order returned.

So..what do we do? Get involved. Simple. No..not simple, but we are at a crossroads as a nation as I see it. God help us if we do it wrong.

I need to stop. There's so many issues coming up that need to be discussed that I can't keep up with them. This thread will probably take on a life of its own.

Meanwhile, I got some quality seat time in today blowing more snow. Love my tractor :-))

Old timers trick jack uo the tractor, let most of the air out of the tires. Install chains as tight as you can and
blow the tire back up.

So how does the dealer and warrenty work play together? Can you take your tractor to any dealer for the work or are they pretty finicky about working on something they did not sell? If you had a chance to save $400 but the dealer is 60 more miles away from you than the one that was $400 higher, would you save the 4 bills or just buy at the one that is only 25 miles away (closest dealer that will deal with my employee purchase agreement?)

I work for CNH also, have been a tool and die maker for 21 years, you are right, the new holes wont do a thing to its integrity. Although I would not put too many in, after a few years if it starts rusting inside, if a guy was to put in a few to many holes I would not want to be riding in it and hope they hold up. I got a question for you on the rops. I built my garage before I had any idea I was buying a TC 40. The rops are 96" and of coarse I was cheap on the garage doors and put in standard height(even after many arguements with my buddy's) LOL. I know I am going to forget about the rops someday and leave the folding option up. Is the a height on the rops set because of the distance from the front of the frame to the top of the rops having the angle set for enough room to survive a crash or is there some other tech. in the design? I suppose I should just change out the garage door before too many trips in and out, I KNOW it will make a bigger mess thanI really want not to mention the crow feathers in the throat.
