It all depends on condition. 3020s around here in well-used but sound condition are going for 5500 to 8000 from the farmers and a thousand or two higher from the dealers.<br> Well, it would be plenty of tractor for whatever you might want to use it for. No shortage of power, and parts are available everywhere. The 3020 is not going to go away. They are a popular tractor and in my opinion they always will be. I don't see the duals as being worth as much as good single tires, but if your 25 acres is muddy it would help.<br> Roger Loving<br>

I ended up shortening the pto drive shaft by 3 inches. What a difference in connecting the thing. After reading the bottom of page 23 of the tiller manual I consider myself lucky that I did not damage the tractor or the tiller before shortening the pto drive shaft. I strongly recommend shortening the pto drive shaft before hooking the TSC tiller to your 4100.

northern has a small one for sale, i think 8kw for pto hookup.<br>the two things you need to know about pto generators are frequency and <br>voltage control. mine has a freq. and volt meter built into the genset.<br>the freq. meter you can see from the tractor seat so you can adjust the throttle<br>befor you get off the tractor. you cant rely on the pitch of the motor sound to help you regulate the voltage and frequency, so if the genset you buy does not have a freq. meter then you need to get one. harbor freight sells some multimeters for $9-$50 with the freq. reading capability built in that you could use to check the frequency under load.<br>my experience has been that if you set the frequency for about 60.6HZ before applying load then you dont seem to fluctuate much below 60HZ when i apply full load. i have a 25KW generac connected to a NH 1520.since i only have about 19 pto hp i dont get the full 25kw from the set. you get about 1kw per 2hp.<br>good luck<br>al

Thanks for the reply. I happened to go by another dealer today and they had a 4400 HST, 4wd, R1's, folding rops and 430 loader. They want $19,500 for the 4400 and agreed that $19,500 for the 4300 I had seen was about 1k high. I also went and demo'ed a Kubota 3710 HST. The hydro on the Kubota was a little smoother but I like the lay out of the JD petals a little better. I'm going back tomorrow to do the deal on the 4400. Thanks again.<br>--<br>Regards,<br>David

John,<br>From what I can find this tractor was manufactured from 76-79. Original list price was $5,085.00 without a loader and auction prices are from $3853.00 to $4788.00 without a loader. My 755 (20hp) does handle a 5' bush-hog just fine with knee high vegitation, If you get into hood high stuff it will work for all its worth at a very slow ground speed. <br>hope I helped!

My one and only experience with an Oil type air filter was on an old AC tri-cycle front end tractor. It might have worked well, but it surely wasn't as convenient as a paper element, and seemed to require more frequent changes to keep the element working properly. I'm sure the real reasons for it's death has something to do with an environmental reason.

Wet type air filters are a necessity for all general purpose tractors

Interesting that you are in Japan and trying to reach Hinomoto (tractor guys) and/or Toyosha (engine guys) with little luck. I have searched for these folks over the internet and have never found any information. I have found Hinomoto Plastics and have found information about some archaeologist named Hinomoto or even another Hinomoto who teaches non-violence. <br>If your finace can read and speak Japanese, why not look up in the phone book or search the web yellow pages?<br>I know I haven't helped but I thought it interesting that you were trying. I have a digger I've used for 30 years on hundreds of holes. I still have the origanal cutters, but I sharpen them as needed. Befor you start drilling make t 1 scoop with a shovel. You'll have a guide for the hole & you won't wrap grass on the cutters. With a small tractor there is plenty of power to run the auger. You have to be careful when the auger starts to being drawn into the ground too fast, it can kill the tractor & it might not have the hydraulic capacity to pull the auger out of the ground without turning the auger.

And if you want Steve's 855, you might be interested in the cab I have to fit it, it is new (never installed) but a couple of years old, and is complete with heater and wipers.

Jeff,<br>As a rule of thumb, 2 PTO HP per KW output. Fuel usage & PTO RPMs will vary with load. Rememer: a Diesel idles at about 100:1 fuel/air ratio, and about 25:1 under full load. Theses ratios are only numbers, and vary among make, model, age & usage. It is probably safe to say that a 50hp unit would use less fuel than a 40hp running the same generator, mainly because the 50hp wouldn't have to work as hard. Also, that 155hp unit might be a turbo diesel, a compact isn't. Governor or not, a tractor can only maintain what it has to offer. If the generator is capable of overpowering the tractor at full load, RPMs will drop. On the other hand, a tractor with 50% more hp than Max output of the generator probably wouldn't be fazed by the load.
