I found some info on the portable Honda generators. Apparently they are gasoline only.

Honda does make a small (11 HP) unit that does run on propane.

It seems by the responses that the alternator or regulator could be the problem. This could be happening during the day, I probalby would'nt notice it as the the only reason I notice it at night is the lights dim so I look at the dash to see what is going on and the tach drops down to about 1/4 of current RPM. Just the tach, motor does not drop. I asked my dealer for ideas and the one thing he mentioned was the tach is run by impluses from the altenator not a sensor on motor. Faster the altenator spins more the tach reads. I have looked for loose wires and can not find anything...maybe a bad altenator. Would this be possible with such low hours?

Billy, my 4610 was built the first week of November. It has a SMV triangle bolted to the seat back, the seat back is black in color and I'm not sure if it is metal. Thank you for the tip, I will proceed with caution and ask to see the product before I buy.

Great idea. I've been doing some "noodling" on rear hydraulic plugs. It would seem I would need a motoring spool to control the winch motor. Is that how you set up your winch?

AV, I see you have a link to the Experimental Aircraft Assoc. I may be preaching to the choir here but anyone out there who has an interest in flying or airplanes should spend a day at the summer convention in Oshkosh WI. Whether its talking to owners camped under their wings or pilots of the most powerful warbirds there is more concentrated expertise there than you will find anywhere in one place. You're right about the Knotters. I knew farmers that had the old square balers when they were new back in 1950's and the knotters were very hard to maintain. They required clenaing, adjustments and a lot of luck.

I had my block heater installed when I bought my 4410 so I didn't install it. Mine is installed on the left side of the engine and appears to be slightly behind something. I assumed they drained the coolant to do the install. When I asked about getting a block heater the sales person suggested that I didn't need one and I was one of few that ever asked about one. I live in central PA. I had a 4310 without the block heater and never had a starting issue even on cold days but I decided to get one for my 4410.

I plug mine in about an hour before using the tractor. It's starts like summer even on the coldest of days and is very responsive and ready to go.

In summary I'm glad I got one.

Deniser, definitely consider Antonio Carraro. While I have not used one, I have talked to their people and seen them at trade shows and am impressed. They have doubled their sales in 2003 vs. 2002 in the US and have opened new dealers in California, Washington and Oregon. They say their spare parts division supplies parts within one working day to any part of the US. They are very popular in California since their super low profile works well with the collection of grapes in the wine country.

While my JD 755 has met all my needs and then some, I am holding out hope that one day I can own one of these fine machines.

When I say "shuttle shift" I mean yo can shift from 2nd to reverse, using the clutch, while rolling.
The super steer would not have been my choice, that is just the way it came and I am sure I will bebefit from it tho I don't know how yet. I can see where it might be good if mowing but I won't be using this tractor to mow.

Yep, and for those of us who can't find a bed spring, wrapping chainlink fencing around a timber doesn't do too badly I've heard.

I haven't used a drag myself and maybe this spring I'll try it. I put some work into getting the drives grades and crowns right. I just touch them up a couple times a year with a box scraper rolled all the way down so it rides on the back of its rear cutter but that's not as good as a drag.

Some major highway construction is supposed to happen here next summer. Maybe I can get them to run a roller up the drives. Good compacting of pit run on a proper base is almost everything in turning pit run into a durable surface for vehicles. I figure the construction company sort of owes me since they messed up the drive at our camp pretty good last year. Besides, their surveyors even sprayed a cedar fence post with marker paint rather than put in their own post. Suppose it would be wasted frustration trying to put that case though.

I just put a Woods 7500 on my JD770. Took a little over an hour since I've never done this before and some muscle to line up the 3PT but it works great! Now I have to decide if I should go with a subframe. Not sure I want to carry that kind of load around all the time, though. Any thoughts out there? Had a heck of a time disconnecting the midline mower without the manual. Wish I had known it unscrewed from the midPTO before I disassembled half the mower deck. Word to the wise! Should have asked you guys 1st.

I can supply you with the closest manuals. The pto hp is 32hp. The simplest way to add hydraulics is to cut the pressure line (small line from the hydraulic pump). Braze on fittings or compression fittings can be used to fasten the hoses to. Run the pump line to the IN on the valve. Run the OUT to the line to the 3 point on a 2 hose system. On a 3 hose Power Beyond valve run OUT to the transmission housing & the PBY to the line to the 3 point. The best system is to use the PBY system. I assume your battery is good & that all connections are good. Might not be a bad idea to shine up battery cable connections . They have a tendency to glaze over. There should be a single small wire coming off the top of the starter. This wire comes from the switch. Put tractor in nuetral. Run a wire from the solenoid battery terminal & touch it to the small wire terminal.. If starter works , your problem is either bad key switch , bad safety switch or break in the wiring . If the starter doesn't do anything you have a bad solenoid. This & answers to other common tractor questions can be found at the following link.
