Pete: Well, maybe a little off-track. These comments are a side-line coming from an early comment reporting that Kubota says that running one of their tractor/BH's at low rpm's may lead to over-heated oil and we were just trying to figure how that works. The interest here is trying to figure how things work and is certainly not a recommendation for using equipment that's not appropriate for a tractor. I'm entirely an amateur but Murf has considerable training. The subject is pretty well exhausted but you may have contributions to make.

I think the less oil may run cooler comment is less flow rather than less volume. The idea is that any combination of volume and pressure through a system takes power and produces heat. Even when no control valves are active, increased rpm produces more flow and more pressure. More heat added to the system from at least that source.

The logic here is that for Kubota's statement to be true, increased flow from higher rpm's would have to increase heat dissipation enough to offset this heat component and then some if low rpm's may produce over-heated oil. The rest of it is sort of groping toward a principle that flow may be less important to heat dissipation in a high mass/high volume reservoir than in a low-mass/low volume exchanger. Maybe a valid principle and maybe not but I don't think anybody is questioning Kubota's statement. This is mostly idle speculation and play.

B-7800-retail no frt, no A&H -13999. Loader 3398 mower 2948 most dealers will take about 10% off list and the rest is for profit and frt and A&H costs. That's about the way it goes for most colors.

Green's way sounds like it would work and seems a pretty good idea particularly for people with strong backs. If the tire is fair sized, remounting a loaded one that's laying on the ground may more than some owners want to tackle.

I think there are inexpensive valve stem adapters that can be used with hand-drill motor pumps to load tires while they're on the tractor. I can't say how well this gadgetry works since I don't use loaded tires.

I have a 12" auger and use it with 24 pto hp in sandy soil that does have some rocks. Power for digging is OK and power requirements can be reduced a bit by riding the 3ph lever. I don't think I'd want to use a bigger auger with my hp though.

What I've noticed is that the engine can lug trying to pull the auger up when clearing dirt out of the hole. In the situation the engine is running both the pto and the hydraulics and there's not enough hp. I don't know if the cause is the amount of dirt on top of the bit or the slightly curved hole a 3ph auger digs if it isn't pulled up sometimes. It most likely the amount of dirt. It only happens in soft sand when the auger digs fast enough to drop like a rock. I usually pull it up frequently with care not to let the tip come out of the hole. An auger can really band a 3ph around and I don't know if large sized bits makes the problem worse.

JD2210 with 85hrs on it. No problems. Bought it based on the lot size and ability to get it through a 7' garage door.

I've read extensively about the larger tractors and still feel the 2210 was the best choice for me and my circumstances. It has done better than expected.

Art & Tractor gurus,

A bit more thinking - I have a lot of good sized rocks that I will probably want to move around and landscape with. Is this an acceptable job for a loader, provided caution and common sense is utilized? If so, I was thinking I might ought to bump up just a bit to a 4330, to get into the 853 loader. All the talk about critters had me thinking too...

I'm going to talk to another Kub dealer tommorow, just to get a feel for what these different dealers can offer. For a reference, what might I expect for a
L4330, 853FEL, a backhoe (yeah, I know, $$!) and a box blade and posthole digger. I know the posthole digger and blade are cheap relative to the rest, hoping I can get some kind of break. I'm in a higher cost geography in general, but wanted to know what MSRP would be, and perhaps, what a fantastic deal would be. I've not been able to sit in a 4610 yet, but I really liked the fit with the L series for me. Also, what should I expect to pay for wheel weights (tires filled too??) and are their other upgrades I should look into now. (Hydraulic top link for the box blade?? - For that matter, what tractors do come with a hyd top link?)

I can't adjust my speed as much on my gear tractor when mowing as can be done with a hydro, but I can adjust it some.<br>
Example- Most of the area I finish mow is open area where I can travel about as fast as the mower can keep up and still cut well, there are a couple of rough areas where I need to slow down considerable. When mowing that area I use the foot throttle instead of the hand throttle, I just back the throttle way down till I'm through that area then punch it back to original speed.<br>
It does bring the PTO speed down some through that area but the mower seems to still cut just fine.

Kubota guy it just took U bolts for a trailer axel. They were 3" wide by 5" long (each leg) I cut them down to 2.5" (I wanted the top smooth as possible. Some of my family aren't to bright so i wanted to do as little damage as possible when somebody drives it into the garage again with the rops up.) The U bolts basically clamp the light box to the tractor. There are two 3/4" bar stock on top of the box to allow the box to clear the bends in the roll bar. The only kit you can buy is a rear facing light that mounts on the right rear fender for about $23. I sell you this one for $300 after i build another one. <br>

In -24 degree C weather I for sure would use the diesel additive. It is dirt CHEAP insurance. Heck, I use it in my 4310 and we rarely see temperature in the teens.

Unless they are available new I wouldn't seperate one from a tractor. You might have trouble finding one that is good condition.

I am currious can the new nicely molded Jinma spring seat be installed on any of the reg seat Jinma models without any major alterations ?, I see some dealers advertising them seperatly so one would asume they are a direct bolt on part ? and maybe at under $ 100 it might be worth the ride.<br>

Let's take a look at what we are used to and what we want to do. You have alot of land there and I assume the round bales need to be carried to your base operation and you have a neighboring farmer baling it for you. I would recommend going with a quick attach on the bucket and bring the load closer to the tractor and improve the stability. You can do that on the tractor you have. For about 1200 you could have a new QT bucket, QT bale spear and the QT assembly on your current loader and tractor. Are the bales from a 1000lb baler?

In this area at the Home Depot they come with the local dealers name on them. Try taking it to the nearest dealer away from them if that is the case and they will think they are stealing a customer! Engine warrantee's are not normally different from one tractor to another. I've had to eat a couple,yes I said it should be covered! Different manufacturers of chassis with the same engines complicate things. The backfire after shut down tells me the muffler is filling with gas or gas vapors and the late explosion tells me it's heat or a late spark. Sometimes the easiest is to see if it doesn't do it at a half throttle shut down or maybe 3/4 throttle. It still is okay to do this and in the past some engine manufacturers have had to recommend it as there was no readiable solution to the problem. My own thoughts on it is that the manufacturers trying to find a happy point between cold weather starting with low batteries and low rpm cranking speed needed to accomplish the feat of starting an engine that is self exciteing found another hurdle to cross with late residual spark discharge from the system. Some day they will have it licked and right now for us it is better then the alternative of hand clippers! The smoking is not right, the oil not being low is telling me it is a rich situation that is cure able with a carburator replacement at the worst. It might just be dirty, who knows what was in that five gallon can before the gas! A quick tear down of the carburator will give the direction that is needed next. If you have smoke, and you show nothing is burned except gas then chances are the gas is replacing the oil in the base. Not a good thing for long life but if caught now when there is still no long term damage would be most benificial. Try a different dealer, if nothing else try the big boys with the green hats!

I also compaed the 72" versus 60" mower for my 4310. The 60" was about $300 cheaper, and I was of the opinion that it would be more maneuverable around tight obstacles, and that I could cut just as much grass in the same or similar amount of time given I could have a higher ground speed for same power with a smaller cutting requirement.

So far I have been very pleased with the 60"

I also purchased a spare set of blades so I can keep one set sharpened and ready to put on when you hit the inevitable rock that wasn't there the year before...

Its not they,its grinder who fell off,go back and read them,I was just trying to put him back on,he has got this horrible dislike for chinese tractors,so horrible,that he just can't help himself,and had to bring them into the mahindra post,so don't say they,if he got on the johndeere post and out of the blue started bad mouthing them,that post would go in a different direction also. I think those values might be in line or this tractor with it being fully serviceable and functional. A broken differential lock if it is an internal failure can be prohibitively expensive to repair.
