When operating my 2210 in light snow conditions I noticed the left front tire was melting snow while the other tires packed and held snow. The exhaust pipe discharge is directly on this tire. Any long term problems with excessive heat on this tire.<br>

The kl120 loader you have is made in the states by KMW the reason you can't find it on the web page is because the number has changed to a KL1210 Is it really a big issue where it was made?

Another good match is Rustoleum's hardhat industrial enamel,
"safety orange". I have used it many times to paint implements ect. I just made a 3pt Reese receiver and painted
it with this spray and it looks great. Cost is about $4.50 for a 15oz can and it covers great.

Ken, I have hot water floor heat in my house. It is very confortable to have the floors warm, but will probably want to have a number of heating zones to keep from overheating some interior rooms. This is done with thermostats controlling hot water solenoid valves. I have six or eight zones in my house.

I use a separate hot water boiler for my heating. With having some heating zones that might be off, the original warning about stagnant water in the heating system is a good one. I would not want that stagnant water in my regular hot water since I use well water and it is not treated with any chlorine or anything like that.

I have a cable choker similar to the one shown and it works GREAT. The one I use has a few links of 3/8" chain instead of the eye. Easy to push under the log(s). I find it hard to push chain and there never seems to be room to get my hand underneath. (Which isn't such a good idea, given the unpredictable stability of logs) <br>

A rough formula for wire rope safe working load(SWL) in tons <br>
is: <br>
SWL = (diameter in inches) * (diameter in inches) * 8<br>
so 1/2 wire would have a SWL of 2 tons (2 = 1/2 * 1/2 * 8)<br>
Take 75% the SWL of the rope as actual SWL because of the <br>
choker hitch, so it is reasonable to use them on some <br>
good-sized timber. Actual breaking strength is much <br>
greater, of course, but never exceed the SWL! <br>

I thought about the over-running clutch thing when I first read the post but it sort of sounds like the clutch wouldn't work after the tractor was shut down. Most newer tractors with TX driven pto's have an internal over-running clutch but there was a recent discussion here where an internal overrunning clutch failed. There are all sorts of possibilities.

I wonder if the pedal has a feeling of free-play and then tension as the pressure plate is compressed? If it's all free play then the linkage or throw-out bearing fork likely is the problem. If the tractor has a removable splash pan then the clutch can be seen mad maybe the problem too. People do use this type of access and large screwdrivers for breaking frozen clutch disks loose, but I'm with Harvey. If it was working then it's unlikely to be a rusted clutch disk.

With an oversized generator, you do have to be very sure of the loads. People do forget to turn things off or somebody else can turn something on unexpectedly. Brown-outs can overheat electric motors without popping a breaker.

A trick for people who don't have freq meters is to compare the times between an AC clock with a sweep second hand and a battery clock. My VOM has a freq meter section so that would be my alternative. Motors do run hotter at low frequencies and it's good to make sure the frequency is right.

Harvey's case is about the only reason I can see to run a generator that can demand appreciably more than the tractor's HP--and I'd take his deal most any day. Usually bigger generators cost more and the capacity can't really be used. They also put a bit more wear and tear on the pto drive. However, an advantage would be that the generator's continuous rating may be above the tractor's HP. High loads could be run continuously without heating the generator as long as the engine wasn't lugging. Don't know why generators don't have thermo switches but maybe high end ones do.

I think I'm going to go with the NH, and I'll buy some implements with the extra $$ saved. (Budget $22K)

I have talked with a lot of people up north in the past few weeks and everyone is telling me the same thing to go with the Manual for plowing.

If it does have hubs that adjust on the axles, I guess the trailer doesn't have sides that are higher than the axles. I did hear a story once where the ends of axles on a tractor were cut off apparently to get the tractor in a trailer or truck bed. Seems like a real bad idea.

Sounds like a wider trailer would be better although it's not uncommon around here to see heavy equipment on flatbeds with half the tires off the trailer. They are very wide tires though. Guess you'd want to be very certain the chains couldn't slack, and tie down those binders or use the new type.

A mid mount mower is not all that interesting to me on this machine.Could take it or leave it as I have a good JD 185 for mowing. The high stature of the Kubota and my very hilly ground could leadto some exciting times when mowing.

The front end loader works great plowing snow on asphalt but it takes a little getting used to on my gravel drive. We don't get a lot of snow but in the two snows we have had this year, I cleared a 200' drive in under 20 minutes which included cleaning the parking area too. If I was in a big snow area, I would definitely go with a blower.

Hello:

Thanks for replying to my question. I fouud out it was having spark plug problems. After I tried to start it with starting fluid and it started the air cleaner on fire. Got a new one now. It seems to run ok but it could run a little better.
