So am I correct in assuming I'll need a greenhouse? Will I be able to harvest year round?

How difficult is this to set up and get going? I have no clue whatsoever about all this.

How much work is involved once set up and planted? Is it pretty much just a matter of watering and monitoring?

And the million dollar question is, what kind of success rate can an utter newbie to the greenhouse mini farm expect?

I guess my lacks of posts is proof of how well my 4410 has been doing!! My 4410 has been just great. I had a 4310 for about a year and only traded it to make some attachment changes. The over-all price I was given didn't give me any cause not to go with the 4410 so I did. I not sure if I can say for sure if I sense the HP increase. Seat of the pants feeling under load is that it is a bit stronger.

For me I have found the 72" deck is a much better fit for this tractor than the 60" I had before. I get more mowing done in less time plus I can get closer to objects since the deck extends out past the tractor more. The 48 hoe can really do some work. I also got the HD bucket for the 430 loader. I added the larger alternator and a block heater at purchase time. I really like the block heater. Never had starting issues with the 4310 but the 4410 just fires right up on the coldest days and seems ready for work right away. I can only think it has to help with preventing engine wear.

The box blade and the post hole digger sold by most dealers are after-market, they are available normally at a better price. Kubota does have good quality accessories.

You do loose some every time you trade. Hopefully you did accomplish something in the process of the initial purchase that you may be able to put a dollar value to. It might be the work that you did do, or a feature that after hooking and unhooking you might find you would like the extendable links on the hitch for ease. Just think if you bought to big and you found that manuverability for the property has been hindered by the size. Now think of what another machine will cost to mow with or to trade down! Try a complete BX22/23 with a bolt in tooth bar for the bucket 60"deck & 60"york rake or 48" box blade and you have nearly every piece you might need except the snowblower.

Chief, wbowhunt and Cub104129.....thank you all for the compliments. Sorry it took so long for me to answer, but I've been cleaning the carpet. Chief, I'll start with you. That is the Chinese FEL, the ZL-20. I believe it is a copy of an earlier Koyker model. It works fine. In assembling the FEL to the tractor, I was too concerned with following the directions exactly, which in brief said to line up the FEL on blocks and drive the tractor slowly towards the FEL until the FEL slipped into the FEL connections on the tractor. I was by myself and not having much luck until finally I got between the arms of the FEL with my back to the bucket lifted it up and dragged it into the tractor connections. The video recommends two people. I haven't had the FEL off since, no reason to I guess.

wbowhunt, the pictures, where the tractor was, are of Prescott Valley, AZ. I ordered it before I moved to the Hereford area of SE AZ., where I had a small home built on 3+ acres. It's surprising what some Meguiars Wax and Armorall can do to a new Chinese tractor. If you go to www.tractor-outlet.com. they have a lot of good pictures of the Jinma.

Cub, it doesn't look shiny anymore. That was a one time glamor photo that I took, knowing that it would never be the same again after all the work it had ahead of it. I have no scratches, just a lot of concrete splashes from the 1500' of curb I put in around the house, flower beds, etc. Oh, and one busted tail light from backing into a tree. Other than that I think I could get her shining again.

Thanks for everyone's input. I have decided to go with the 60". My dealer sells mostly the 60" for the tractor and hasn't had any complaints. Hope this one lasts as long as the one on my B8200.

Can not say anything bad about Deere, but I CAN say plenty of good about Kubota. I have never had any problems with either of my compacts. Everything seems to be built tougher
than it needs to be. I have been looking at a Grand L with
cab. I really have no reason to look further than my Kubota dealer. (Little bit prejudice?) Maybe..

Is anyone currently using Bio-Diesel in thier CUT? DO you notice any difference in performance? More hours per tank? Less smoke at startup? Cold weather usage?
I am very interested and am reading what I can find, the problem is just like anything else, I am getting the sales pitch side or the competitors side. I would like an actual users side of the story.
I am having a hard time locating a dealer in my area. I have checked and the closest is about an hours away. Being that Bio does not appear to have a long shelf life I don't know that it would be worth it.
Cost wise, Does it run about the same as Regular Diesel?

I own a Nortrac 204C it is a 3 cyl 20HP 4x4 and I love it. It has plenty of power for me to haul wood and (7')plow snow(300'driveway in the Northeast NY) Don't rule them out or any Jinma. There are plenty of parts and dealers across US and Canada. I'll buy again.

I own a Nortrac 204C and I am very happy with it. Nothern has ben very good to me. Yes they(Jinma)don't have the best looking castings and yes they don't have the fit and finish of JD or NH but I have money left over to buy impliments. I bought unit to work with not as a show unit. Oh by the way the other compact tractors your refering to? They are made in china also. Nortrac is fine for the money and you can find all the parts you need for these units. And the service if you don't want to diy. Bolton is also a good dealer. There are quite afew dealers around to help you.

Thanks for the tip. I moved to the middle hole and that did it. It comes close now when I turn but never hits, I think moving the the 3rd hole would probably put it to close to the back tires.

Can you explain how the locking bar works? It looks like the rod is in the notch all the time but the deck still goes up and down with the rear draft control. I've played around with the little lever but it doesn't seem to do anything. I have a front end loader on the machine which restricts the movement somewhat.

TBKeeper. If you are refering to the Nortrac Tractor it is made by Jinma. If you are refering to something else there it might have been Rino. As far as I'm aware all the tractors are Jinmas. And though not upto the JD standards they really are not to bad for the money. Yes you do have to check the bolts and fix a leak once in a while but the only leak I had on mine was from the fitting I had changed to add my plow. I would buy another one once I want to go for the next larger size.

Yes, I'm really glad to have found this. It may save me much grief someday if everything goes dead. I also think it would be a good way to theft proof my tractor by simply unplugging it when left alone unattended.

Have any of you (Satoh or Mitsubishi owners) changed out the breaker points and condenser for an electronic ignition set, such as Pertronics? I put a set in my '64 Ford F100 pickup with very good results. I have contacted vendors, with very no success. So, if any of you venturesome souls out there have done it - successfully - please share the info, mfr & part #, with us.<br>

I happen to run across the Kioti site that shows they are building a huge Headquarter/assembly/parts plant in Wilson, NC. It is to be completed in 2004. I have been hesitant to buy a new Kioti because of the resale value. Used John Deere's, Kubota's and New Hollands sell for prices of a new one when you consider the 0% financing on new. Even at that I have seen used ones with low hours sell a new price.
