I've got a L3000DT with R1's set at their narrowest position (40" width from center to center of the rear tires). I'm intested in setting the wheels wider. According to my manual there are 4 positions for the rear wheels. I'd like to go to the one that would put them at 47". For this position it looks like the disks would remain in their current postion & the rims would have to be reversed so I guess I would have to switch the tires/rims from one side to the other. Anyone have an suggestions or insight on doing this??<br>

Also, has anyone reversed the front wheels to get a wider stance? My manual says "Do not turn front discs to obtain wider tread". Is this Kubota's way of telling me not to do this? If so, anyone know why? I've seen them reversed on other tractors like mine.

My tractor purchase was in leau of an airplane purchase, so I still rent for my aviation fixes when needed. I am checked in a Cherokee 140, Archer and Skylane RG. Hope to someday use my tractor for the prep of a grass strip somewhere.<br>

Bill: Without going into splitting hairs between Green and Orange, or Blue for that matter, I bought my Kubota BX2230 because Kubota makes their own chassis, motor, transmission, etc. The entire machine is one manufacturer. The others do not. This is what put it over the top for me. BTW My job is building Blue (C-NH)components, so I am familiar with them.

Now that's the spirit Eric! ;o) Good one! LOL!!! I knew someone would appreciate my seat belt humor. I am not to the point of needing the seatbelt extension although the holiday season goodies are taking their toll. I can't imagine that????? I can still get into a pair of size 38 Wranglers (relaxed fit of course!;o).

Belarus injector pumps are supposed to be drained off periodically, no one actually does it! The governor housing has it's own oil supply. These pumps normally weep some diesel as they are being used. Drain your injector pump housing(plug on the bottom of housing) and refill with 8oz of engine oil. Then every 10-20 hours remove the check plug on the side of the housing and drain off the excess fluid.
Keep that tractor.....it will work circles around any of the popular JAP brands hands down!

Yes we were, the wife already apologized once for the honey do and do and do list she gave me. Almost all of it requires the tractor. I hope she never figures it.

Chief-I can't change it "itsgottobeorange" I still got one john deere tractor a old JD 214 which paided for the JD 955 and the JD 312. But i also sold the JD 312 to pay for the rear snowblower and snow plow for the kubota. So it should be "greenandorangeinharmony".
wbowhunt-Tell your friend to go buy himself an old 1970's F-150, jack it up, put some 45" tires on it, park it in the driveway and see what that city boy says. Make sure he paints it primer gray.
Dame city people they rather buy stuff ready made. Me i rather buy something used and fix it. Or take something and turn it into something else. I already finished off my first welder, need a new one (miller 210). We should take these city boys out to texas or somewhere and show them what real people do for a living.

This is in addition to my earlier post. I stated that There is a linkage going to the back of my tractor in addition to one going to the front from my clutch. The one going to the front seems to be operating but the one going to the back does nothing when i push the clutch. I have a picture i could attach if someone could send me there e-mail and maybe could tell me what that specific linkage does. Thanks<br>

The zinc and diesel will eventually react and cause flaking of the zinc galvanized coating which in turn will contaminate your fuel system. As long as you keep the fuel fiters serviced, they should catch the zinc particles but this still does not prevent the mess you must clean out of your fuel tank, lines and filters. Be sure that whatever type of fuel storage tank you use that you install a good quality fuel filter. Typically most diesel fuel tank filters are 10 - 15 micron and catch most but NOT all contaminants.

In our area we have a lot of hills, hills use horsepower from the other functions such as the mower or blower. That horsepower to climb a hill is also being used more if the tractor is heavier. I've seen hydro's weighted so much they are a dog on a hill. They often have to go to a lower range just to climb with that much weight. There is other things that enter in to this but I'm not a lover of the old crude cast iron as there are more potential problems frombad castings. That is another problem ten years down the road. More weight of the Kioti, less horsepower, less performance!

Thank you Dennis! This should be a great opportunity for all of us to learn a lot more about Jinma's.......at least speaking for myself. I got my first look up close at a Jinma at Rural King yesterday. They had some Agpro Jinma 254's and a model I have not yet hear of. I didn't get a chance to actually demo one.......the store was pretty crowded. Hopefully we will see alot more Jinma owners posting in this section!

The 4310 is a VERY popular model and provided that is the size tractor you want; I think you will be VERY happy with it especially with ehydro.

Mark brings up some very good points to consider and very good tractor suggestions. Once you have settled on a size/hp tractor and more importantly what your planned uses for it are; I think we can give you a better group of suggestions. You should also consider what type of transmission, tires, and any other possble impliments you prefer. It is best to finance these altogether if possible and it gives you the best bargaining power.

CAREFULLY consider the dealer you buy from as they will be your life line for warranty and customer support if needed. You want a dealer you can trust and be assured you will get good work from. My experience has been when I feel as fired up to buy something as you sound; it is best to take a bit of a "cooling off period" and rethink your position. Make your purchase with confidence that you have done as much research as is possible. Best not to rush the purchase and wish you had gotten something else later on.

You are a little north of me. I'm south west of Syracuse near Ithaca. I do get you up your way to Lake placid usually 8-10 times a winter. But do not see any trips there this year.

I have a Pronovost P-68. 68". 24" fan 9" deep it loves most anytype of snow the harder, icer, packer the better. I do not know if it works any better than Toms or not. BUT it is way above my old cheapy one. That as I recall had a 18"x6" fan with 3 blades.

Pronovost makes 3 different levels of blowers. Mine is above the Puma which is much lighter.

If you go with the rebuild go all the way and replace bearings. they may appear ok but a little play will take out the new seal too after a short time.

The front end loader will clear snow but not as efficently as a blade.

A blade can be angled and move snow to the sides a couple of passes and you're done.

BUT then again maybe you want all of your snow in a nice neat pile and your loader will work best.

If it's a CAT I hitch then most any CAT I implement that's near the same width as the rear tire tracks should be manageable. Usually you want to cover the rear tire tracks. Occasionally there may be issues with the width of the lower link mounts or 3ph capacity. Generally there is a close relationship between HP, 3ph capacity and rear wheel width in most tractors and just knowing the rear tire width is a good guide for selecting implements.

I relied on my dealer's recommendation when I first got my tractor and I still do. I figure he's in the buz of knowing these things. If I started analyzing things I'd likely just be repeating the research his staff does (and probably not as well). My dealer knows my budget and how I use equipment and he recommended after-market implements that had worked out well for other customers.
