Good price on BX 2230 and BX23

Hi there. I'm looking to buy either a BX2230 w/ 60" deck and loader or a BX23 w/ 60"deck. My local dealer quoted me $13150 for the 2230 and $17405 for the BX23. Do these sound like good prices?

I saw oilbaron's post that he picked up a BX23 for $15800 - which dealer was that? I'm in Western VA.

Several months ago in western NY, I was quoted $8200 for BX2200; $1600 for 60" MMM; and $2500 for FEL. Between location, season, and model year, don't know if you'd consider that apples & apples, or apples & oranges but at least it gives you a ballpark...

Art why the oh! when the CK20 hst and bx2200 are compared?

I too am looking at these models and haven't come up with a reason NOT to buy the CK20. I would value you imput.

The CK 20 weighs more and is cast iron not alum. and less plastic. Is there something I missed? This is a big purchase for me and I would like your opinion.

In my eyes the only selling point on a bx over the ck is the bx is able to run a mid mount with the hoe, other than that the ck is 100% more tractor for the money! ....

In our area we have a lot of hills, hills use horsepower from the other functions such as the mower or blower. That horsepower to climb a hill is also being used more if the tractor is heavier. I've seen hydro's weighted so much they are a dog on a hill. They often have to go to a lower range just to climb with that much weight. There is other things that enter in to this but I'm not a lover of the old crude cast iron as there are more potential problems frombad castings. That is another problem ten years down the road. More weight of the Kioti, less horsepower, less performance! ....

I went with the BX 23 as I didn't want to have to buy another new tractor just to get a back hoe.
