See, when I use my turn brakes on my John Deere 4200 HST.. I don't have to make long term plans of switching my cruise control on to use the turn brakes. My brakes are there when I need em. Just step on em!!! You all know that Kubota didn't have good engineering when it came to this feature. You shouldn't have to go thru a cruise control procedure. Most of the time it's a split second instint to use the turn brakes.. not a long term plan!!!

I am a previous 855 owner, had it for twelve years.. other than hours it was still in great shape when I traded it. I now have a 4200 HST.. Here is my comparison of the Two models. Loader is by far superior on 4200, better built, easy on & off. Better Hydraulics. Better Lever. Seat is superior, huge improvement over 855, including the retractable seatbelts. Headlights are superior. Engine is superior (very quiet at low idles) Tilt Steering is Superior. Dashboard is superior. Parking brake is better. Fuse box is better. Sloped Hood is better.Hood is better for opening. Permanent grill guard is better. Size of physical machine is better. Cruise Control is better. Lift Capacities is better for both Loader & 3pt hitch. Now this is where the 855 gets the favorable edge on design.. MFWD Lever was more convenient. Single Lever was far better than that flimsy thing to operate the Mower with. PTO Lever was more convenient on Dashboard. PTO Selector was far better on the 55 series. Not only was the lever better, but you could choose all three funtions on the 55 series. Mid, Rear, Mid & Rear. Why they changed that I have no clue? I really do hate that flimsy Mower lever on my new tractor.. it is very cheap.. Rear Pto guard came with my 855. Should have made a heavier duty directional lever on 4200. I had my Uncle weld together some very nice

Buy cheap grade 5 bolts, nuts and lock washers in quantity from the farm store or industrial supply house, and, start the blades real slow. Have a Jd 513 and just finished bush hogging 5 acres and broke one bolt.

I bought a 5' - 3pt disc. It pulls it good except for turns because it's a 3pt model. <br>I wouldn't be out doing a field with it but for home use or mini farms it's ideal.<br>I also have a loader on my 855, without it I'm not sure it would lift it.

I have owned a Long 460 tractor for 10 years. I use it for all types of ranch needs and have never had any problems with it. It is a diesel and starts right up every time I need to use it. I have never had to do anything to it except normal service such as oil change and filter changes. I am currently looking for a front end loader to mount on it. Does anyone know of any used Long loaders for sale?

I have a TC 18 that I purchased new at the end of June. This is my 1st compact. I have about 25 hours on it from mowing with a 5' woods rear finish mower and moving tons of sand for the base of my new pole barn with a back blade. This tractor is 4wd and hydro and has worked beyond my expectations.<br>If you want one characteristic that proves strength of the machine, look at 3 pt. lift capacity at 24

I bought a new NH 1720 a few months back and it came with tubes both front and rear. Therefore it shouldn't matter what they were filled with. Though I suppose over time the calcium could cause problems for the valve stem. Tube would be cheaper than a wheel. Down here in Mississippi everyone I ever heard of uses antifreeze in their tires. Never even heard of calcium till I got on this board. Antifreeze sure is messy when you get a flat!

Any idea of the price of an 11 year old 855.<br>650 hours, front end loader, post hole digger, backhoe, deck mower, scraper blade rear chipper. Paint is rusty, but runs great. Everyhing functions fine<br>needs front tires. side wall bubble

It also seems to me to be a good idea to see and get a copy of the maintanance record. I would think that, even if used hard, proper maintanance would keep the machine in good shape. If they don't keep a written log, I'd run.

I own a 1070 now, traded in my 950 for it. You will be pleased with the performance and quality of these tractors.<br>The syncro allows you to change gears without having to come to a complete stop, I don't recommend going from forward to reverse<br>without stoping though. I tried to find a used backhoe for mine, but couldn't find one in my price range, so I am<br>presently building one of the Cadplans model 808 backhoe. Don't know anything about the spade you asked about.<br>Hope you enjoy your's as much as I have. Good luck.

The techies at Kubota told me the turf shredding is merely a result of an efficient drive system versus grass, the turf ALWAYS loses. I have recently been spec'ing pillow block turfs (235/85R20's) on all my machines, yes, ESPECIALLY for loader work. Many more lugs mean many more points of traction, plus they have the highest weight rating, even more than the R4's, and they are unbeatable for hills, snow, ice, and wet turf.
