I see you are looking for a fel with your tractor. I'd make sure there is ample pressure to turn the wheels with the bucket full at an idle.

Ken many engines don't run up to temp when idleing for the thermostat to work.

I did some research and Socket system don't want get involved the Siesmic zone code engineering side.
I finally decided to come up with my own design, 6 x 6 post, but not SS style. as it seem most of the local pole barn builders have pre-engineer stuff that doesn't meet my needs. I'll have to pay to get some engineering calc. done to get the plans stamped, but even at that I'll save about half and get what I want. bjr2351

The dealer delivered my tractor with 25psi all around and it was the tire print that prompted me to investigate. The rear tires were over inflated and the print indicated as Harvey described. I adjusted using your method and ended up with 16psi rear and 18psi front. Thats no FEL or rear implement, MMM only. The machine rides and steers with more control. Thanks to all for the advice.

Furniture takes up space and the operations require some areas for prep and painting. I guess the number of units you want to do/month is also a question.
A friend of mine bought out an operation in MS. He has a 40,000 sq ft (~ 4000 sq.m) facility, with 20 ft ceilings and it was packed. He also had 8 60 ft (20m) truck trailer loads of material and some remaining at the facility that he bought the material from. He was only assembling examples of each variety he had.
You would need a paint booth depending on the type of finish you are applying. Bare minimum you need a clean area to paint in. Size of the unit would also be dictated by your dry times and through put.

I had not seen this work on the smaller pickups only the work on the semi tractors by Deere etc.
I guess it would help when you are pouring the coals to it so to speak in this set up.
I would think it would be good for a 5th wheel or horse trailer with living quarters. Just plug the trailer into the truck and you have 120 volt.
I wonder if you can use just the battery to produce the 120 V.

Has anyone else played with pellet stoves? I bought a new/slighty used Whitfield Optima 30 a few years back. I experimented with burning corn in it but found that the corn local does not get to low enough mosture levels. I have to burn wood and corn mix.<br>
The last two winters I have been burning only the wood pellets. We have been buying direct from the manufacturer therefore we have been less than 140/ton. I burn a little over a ton a year. The house is fairly efficient (4K sq ft) and we have a heat pump so I burn the stove and suppliment with the pump and allow it to move the air.<br>
My question to anyone that has experimented with them is that my stove does not seem as efficient as the newer one. I burn about 60 lb/day if on full. I have only 6 air channels does anyone have a new Whitfield?

For not much more money (all depends on how you interpret much ;-) you can get a 4310. I think the 4310 would be a much better buy for the dollar spent and you can go with the 430 FEL which gives you more landscaping ability. you will love the ehydro. The 790 would be the economy tractor choice.

That is true Mark. On the old IH's with the hydro's they normally nearly dry rotted off the tractors with 4000 hours on them vs the gear drives at about 2000 hours. That is also why we suggest in tillage dominated operation like plowing soil and discing we recommend the gear drive to be able to put more horsepower to the ground.

Sometimes when they get that old and that much mileage; it cheaper to keep her. I have a 1987 Nissan Puslar NXSE with about 145,000 miles on it that I keep just to put around locally with. I would get anything for it selling it and I still get the value of cheap transportation out of it.

I have found a near perfect paint to match the Kubota orange. The advantage of this is that it is readily available, can be brushed on, and is inexpensive.<br>
The paint is Ace Hardware Machine and Implement Enamel, Allis Chalmers Orange. About $6.00 per quart.<br>

The thing that gripes me is the "no one under 16" stickers plastered all over ATVs. Is there something magical about turning 16 that all of a sudden you have common sense and the skills to operate it?

Someone such as Kubotaguy's daughter who has been properly trained and guided from a young age will be so much better off. That's how it should be done.

The placards should read "not for sale to irresponsible parents".

Several years ago I had a local welding shop make a blade for my FEL. He took a piece of 36" diam. pipe and cut about 10" out of it, this gives the blade a nice curve. Put a piece of 3"X3/8" flat bar on the bottom for a wear bar. Then put on mounts to match my loader. I later found that I needed to have shoes mounted to raise it up an inch or so to prevent picking up gravel. So now I use the front blade to remove and pile snow and rear blade to clean up that last inch if I want to. This has really been a good set up for me and I've kept the blade for three different tractors.

That tiller was built by someone else for Kubota and you should be able to get parts as soon as you find out what it is. I don't have reference here to tell if it is a current model but if it's right for you 48" should be all you can handle.

If you look at the frame work that Kubota uses there's being the best available that comes with a full tractor chassis warrantee. I would feel woods would have to be quite substancial in the under frame pinnings or bolt ons to secure a hoe on it unless they move it further to the rear of the tractor chassis which would increase the stress on the tractor chassis if it was of the same performance as the Kubota hoe.

I guess it depends on your tires and chains, how they fit, and how they were put on.

When I have run chains without tighteners I have occasionally had the chain come apart on one side of the tire, and start flailing around wacking the fender.

Unfortuantely, when I am running chains, I have all sorts of stuff covering my ears so I don't hear it right away.

Now I always use tighteners, with no problems on 4 link chains and I do get some movement of the chains on the turf tires as well.

YEs, I woke up this morning to a few inches of snow and thought, man if I only did this last week I would be able to play today, But I am glad I waited and did the leg work and research. I am sure there will be plenty more snow days to come this year, and even if not, as soon as this round of snow melts off and the ground is frozen, I am having 20 tons of stone dust delivered to clean up the shed and around the water trough for the horses. Plenty of things to do once she ( my tractor ) gets here. And Yes I think Justin was good and I did get a fair deal. Thank you

I bought one of those temporary garages you see everywhere in a feable attempt to provide some shelter for the tractor but as luck would have it by the time I got around to setting it up the ground was frozen. Undaunted by this small inconvienience I set it up and nailed its feet to some old 2X8 planking I had kicking around. The next day we had a terrible storm which my luck being what it is included gail force winds but thats o.k. I've got this thing figured to take a 50 mph wind . To my surprise as of darkness my poor mans garage was still standing, However again refering to my luck it was to be short lived as when daybreak came the laughter coming from my wife in the kitchen told me without even looking that the wind had reached 51 mph...........Sad you know when you have to look your number one supporter in her tear filled eyes and admit... well you know the rest of the story......

I will check into one of those shipping containers.
If the wind blows my tractor away parked in one of those things I was not meant to have one.
