There are Yanmar dealers but it looks like Yanmar America has done a gray market thing. There's a note about Yanmar parts on the Little Miami Trading Company page on the link below. Sounds like they'll help if they can. I mentioned Leonard's posts in another thread. I believe he has responded to Yanmar parts and manuals questions here as well.

Much like the relationship between Shibaura and Ford/NH, there might be a cross with some JD model. A big salvage yard might be able to help. Most have few compacts but there may be a network similar to auto parts. I think there's a pretty good salvage yard around Kitchener. Most yards have few compacts although there may be a network similar to used auto parts.

I have sold my lawn and garden tractor and bought a new 7500hst. I have a loader,and just purchased a 54" pronovost<br>
3 pth blower, Now my thoughts are what to do for mowing and <br>
leaves? 2+ ac. lawn, lots of hard woods surrounding me.LEAVES! Nov. in Maine is usually wet.<br>

Leonard who posts here regularly usually says he can obtain Shibaura parts etc. Unless 2203's are a model that partially crosses to a Ford/NH or a parted out 2203 about the only alternative is to obtain parts from Japan and somebody who has experiences doing it is an advantage.

There also may be some potential to fix it up through rebuilding and OEM parts. Most bearings are fairly generic. There probably are codes stamped on the outside races and the bearings can be obtained through OEM suppliers. the pilot bearing is very likely available as an OEM part. The bearing portion of the throw-out bearing also may be an OEM part. I've never thought whether the bearing separates from the sleeve or not.

There are or used to be rebuilders for almost everything--clutches included. I don't know if these rebuilders turned out rebuilt discs by fabricating new disc material or whether generic blanks were available. It should be possible to find a clutch of the same diameter from something. If material can be applied, almost anything of the same diameter should work, but some better than others of course.

I don't know if Exide is another name for Optima, but I've been running an Exide in my Ford for over three years now. There's the occasional 10-mile highway trip but the turfs give a smooth ride so the battery probably gets less bouncing around than field work with ags. It's been a good battery. It exceeded the Ford 1710 battery specs and still fit into the box and uses standard cables and hold downs. It vents through the caps. I face the notches forward and there hasn't been a corrosion problem.

Anyone use an Optima battery in their JD tractor

You can get your regular old ladder chains and go after market and add in your other cross chains. Double rings every other one on the rears and keep fronts regular. You will find on the front if you get to long a cross link the side chain or if they get cockeyed they will rub on the tie rod and tear the boot Not a problem if you keep it greased.

Mark pretty much nails my view IRON IS IRON they do not have to be beautiful and the more they can be allowed to squirm around on the tires the better. Mine the cross links are welded together for the right fit. Each rear chain on my custom "cobs" from many different sources (mostly old heavy truck chains) and weigh over 100# each.

Usually I chain up before I need them but now and then I do an AH-S---! and stick it. 90% of time I can get out by curling the bucket forward/back with it stuck in the ground. If I have to I'll just put the front chains on because I can get the front up and clear with the bucket, get out and finish resr of chains on hard ground if I need to continue working.

I probably have over a 1000# of various cross and side chains in various styles. I'll get them from the town barn trading coffee and donuts for their old stuff they can not use. My other source is auctions for old double rings, but even now they are pricey for worn out chains.

I have way more than I'll ever use in this life do ya want some?

My guess is that you have an intermittent dead short on the 7.5 Amp circuit. If the 7.5 Amp circuit is downstream of the 30A fuse, it is just a question of time which blows first. The lower rated fuse is usually going to go first, but maybe the thermal stress of many shorts weakens the 30A fuse so it occasionally goes first.

I once had a Mustang whose headlights would go out occasionally at the worst times. It had an automatic reclosing breaker instead of a fuse, so they always came back on after a while. I couldn't reproduce it while checking the wiring for months. Finally one night, I stood on the trailer hitch and jumped up and down to try to cause the problem. The headlights went out AND I saw arcing at my feet! The body shop that had repaired the rear end a few years before hadn't bothered to replace the grommet for the wire going through the trunk wall to the license plate light. It's insulation had finally worn through from vibration and occasionally shorted.

When I get a short to persist long enough to test the wiring, I jumper a 12V bulb across the dead fuse so I can see results of my efforts break and make the short momentarily. A bright bulb gives the indication of the short. Of course you will want to make sure the light bulb in line with power to some electronics won't hurt anything by limiting current to the load.

You might ask your dealer for a copy of the schematic for the tractor. It may help you test the circuit.

Duker, we ran out of BX's for over a month this summer. By that I think it was five for the month and big travel just to get them for people. They are just catching back up now with product. We will be getting more inventory all winter into spring for the big container shipments. I don't think they need to offer 0% or any other fancy option deals. The pricing seems right on these tractors for the way they are built and the features offered. Most companies add to the cost to cover 0% just like in the car market offering a cash deal in leiu of 0% financing.

Spinning doesn't count as you aren't supposed to. Power and control, right on the edge and you will go farther, cost less doing it, and not be broke down.

Does your dad have the operator's manual for the tractor. If so, it's all covered there.

If not, the motor oil change is just like on an automobile. There's a little more to the hydraulic oil change though.

Another update with some good news: My chains cleared the wheel wells. Its close but it will work!!! I got lucky...
So overall the tire upgrade was a complete success!!

Cutnfill, the grapple is called a BoDozer and is made by Borgford. See the attached link. Mine is a model BG-5 (5-footer) and it is one beefy implement. The tines are 1" thick steel and it weighs about 600 lbs. I love this thing for rolling up slash and piling it in burn piles, moving heavy rocks, and moving fallen trees without loading them up with dirt (hard on chainsaw chains).

I'm not exactly sure how much one of these would cost direct since mine was part of a bundled package, but my guess is it would be about $2300. You would need a third SCV to operate the "thumb" of the grapple.
