Hey guys, my dad has an John Deere tractor. I believe it's an 855 and he needs the oil changed. He asked me to do it and I don't have any idea how to do it so does anyone have a link or instructions on how to do this? If so please help me out. I really appreciate your help, and thanks in advance.

Jared,
Does your dad have the operator's manual for the tractor. If so, it's all covered there.
If not, the motor oil change is just like on an automobile. There's a little more to the hydraulic oil change though. ....

Jared Young, if you can't get ahold of an owner's manual; be sure to use a diesel rated oil. (i.e. 15W-40 or SAE30 CH-4 or CI-4 rated oil) The C type rating is for compression ignition engines. I get my oil filters from the Deere dealer for about $5 each, use a good quality oil filter specified for this engines application. (i.e. don't try to cross reference a Fram filter at Walmart) I mark the Date and Hours at the time of oil change on the new filter so I can keep an eye on when the next change is due. ....
