Do a good look over of the tractor. Look for where a wrench imprint is on a bolt or nut head. When you see that it means that someone might have had to do work there. If the clutch housing bolts show to have had wrenches on them than it might have been spit for a clutch. Check the torque on some of the main fame bolts, if some are loose check them all. I would double check the lubes, for color and consistancy. This should be monitered on a regular basis. Thats just some of the stuff to do to become familier with the tractor. The manuals are a good tool for frequencys of maintenience after the initial inspection.

Duc, watch that you don't hit your neighbors house with the 3204 and blower. Hope you got the rear counter weight with it. It does make a difference on traction.

I was told it was taking a long time to get the new fender because it had to come from overseas. So when I called them (tractor repair place) and told them I NEEDED My tractor NOW they just beat out my old fender and lets some half A__ painter (useing a spray can it looks like)try to paint the whole tractor ---- orange peel and paint runs all over the body------ I can't stop payment because I paid cash And the tractor was delivered when I was at work now I know why. I have been stewing over this situation for about 4/5 months now trying to calm down and do the right thing.

Any one have a source for some good used turf wheels. The size I am looking for is 15" x 10" and they will need to mount onto a B7100HST.<br>

Ken as far as I know, it has to be a BCI Group 22NF or it will not fit. I went through this with Jimmy at the John Deere dealer. The only battery John Deere makes in this spec. is the Strong Box Hibernator. I was hoping John Deere made one of their spiral cell batteries in this size but no dice. Look at the battery hold down clamps and the orientation of the terminals and you will see what I am talking about.

700 hrs on it. It has a ford fel and a woods 6 foot finish <br>
mower that is 2 years old. It also comes with a 6ft. bottom<br>
plow. It has been garaged since purchase. IT also has all <br>
of its maintance records I have seen these myself it is in great shape and drives very well and is mechanically sound.<br>
I was hoping to get some feedback from the board on the asking price, asking price is $10,500. Does this seem fair.<br>

How often do you wear out a set of tires? My little ford 1500 I had for 13 years put about 500 or so hours on it a year had original tires on it when I bought it (It was 5 years old then) and I used it 5-6 years before I replaced those, front only and the replaceme were 6+ when I traded it and the fronts were just starting to show wear.

One thing crosses my mind as we talk about tires someone, me thinks, may have posted the thought also, (TomG?). but if you are doing lots of loader work and are having trouble backing up slipery slopes or away from piles you may wanna reverse your front tires so they are on backwards. Lots of farmers do this that have bunks on softer ground.

Orange rules. Why do you think they have by far the majority of the market in the compact tractor. My dealer sold Blue and Orange. 3 weeks after I had my tractor I asked him which really is the best. He said that both are good but the orange is the best. The compact tractor is Kubotas bread and butter and a small part of NH lineup. He also said that NH hasn't changed the blue in years and Kubota is always changing. Honestly I don't think you can go wrong with either. I love my orange though.

Once you pick an oil/gas ratio, the carburetor adjusts premix to air ratio. Oil is part of that equation in the carburetor. The last sentence in particular is misleading, or at least I did not understand it. The only time that you can separate the gas/oil/air components is on engines that use oil injection behind the carburetor. <br>

With respect to your question about richer/leaner...With a leaner oil mixture (50:1 for example) you get more fuel through the carburetor for a given premix flow. My initial guess would be that you need to lean up the carburetor. If you have needle valve adjustments, adjust the mains till the saw runs really crisp. (accellerates from idle to full speed with a minimum of time and throttle.) That will probably be a little on the lean side. Then adjust the valve to the rich side of that. Generally 1/2 to 1 turn will be fine. <br>

A rich setting will cause the engine to blubber and hesitate. It may produce more smoke. To really tell, shut off the engine while it is working at full or very high throttle. If the plug is black/brown looking, you are probably safe. If the plug turns very bright to white, it is running too lean. You have to shut the engine down under load and rapidly for this spark plug examination to be useful. <br>

The carburetor should not require much change. Oil is going to be somewhere between 2% and 8% of the premix volume. Premix to air in the carburetor is going to be about 8%, so a change in oil mixture is only going to change the air/fuel ratio by less than 1/2% at most.

Good deal that you got yours modified. Some guys don't have the time or mechanical fabricating skills to do a modification of a subframe to make it fit their tractor when the subframe wasn't intended for their tractor.

You are right Willie H. A target price 5500 for a Woods backhoe smaller than the 6500 is not much. Maybe they think this backhoe will have sales potential for tractors that weren't designed for the 6500. Whatever Woods is thinking doesn't make much sense to me since the market for that backhoe is so small and specialized. I wonder if they can make any money after all their start-up and design costs?

I just picked up your postings. Although 4wd is potentially better than 2wd for traction in and out of slimy, greasy, rutty work zones, 2wd will fill the bucket as well, just like Jeff R pointed out. The tractor - B6200 - is a tractor large enough to accomodate a loader, however the loader size that is available will not be able to pick up the barn - so to speak. Nor would you want to. I have B5200's, amongst others, that have the then B1640 loader installed (removable), as well as the rigid mount B1630. Last pricing, on the B1640, was around $3k to $4k...the difficulty was finding one. I have since installed a Koyker 110 loader on tractors. Same frame size, however, much stronger stucture than that of the B1640. The 2wd B6200 will handle this unit very well, and is readily available at around $2600+/-. Hard steering, well, I grew up with "strong arm steering"...but as long as you are moving/rolling, and as Jeff R mentioned properly counter balanced to take the weight off the front end of the tractor, there should be minimal difficulty.
Primary consideration, regardless of what type of work you have in mind, is that the loader have a frame mount in front, mid section as well as to the rear-end. This will alleviate any possible twisting and/or cracking of components.

Certainly, everyones applications are different. What may work great for one , may not work great for another. I have not had any major problems with what I have described. Let us know how you make out.

I'm not really up on those Blue machines either, but I'd be looking for a temp. sensor. We had this problem a while back too with our newer machines, there was a faulty temp. sensor which is supposed to tell the glow plug relay how long to stay on, or if to even come on at all. It was sending a bad signal (or the wire was just not making contact) and so the glow plug relay thought the engine was at running temp. all the time.

Guess it's a 2101 compact rather than an older 2110 farm tractor. Very confusing to have different tractors with the same model number. I haven't done it myself but there are alignment and adjustment procedures described in my 1310-1710 repair manual. The manual procedures call for several special tools. I've heard the procedure can be done without the special tools but it takes some fiddling and experience. I'd try it if I had the special tools but likely would think several times about trying it without them. NH wants an arm, leg and option on first-borns for special tools.

My parts manual does cover 2110's. If you get in a bind I can see if the clutches are similar and guess whether my 1710 manual procedures would be similar enough to be useful.

I see the conceptual problem. My explanation would be that horizontal distance is lost when lugs sink into the soil because the lugs travel a vertical distance from the surface down and then back up.
