I need a log splitter and am split (ha ha) between getting a 3-point splitter or a self powered unit. The self powered unit would be more convenient but they cost a lot more. But if I have to add extra hydraulics to the tractor to power the splitter the cost differential converges a bit.<br>

I can't quite wrap my brain around the hydraulics necessary for a 3-point splitter. Am I correct in assuming that it would require a power beyond kit? I already have rear hydraulics for top-n-tilt but I can't see a way to feed a constant flow through those SCVs and the associated diverter valve.

I had a minor problem with a differential oil leak. The dealer had my bx-22 for two weeks. When I picked it up he refused to let me see any paperwork. I wasn't allowed a copy of the service report. Was told that it would be filed with Kubota and that was all I needed to know. Is this common? I don't really trust this dealer but it's the ONLY one in my area. Did you get a copy of the service report when you had the fuel tank replaced?

I work in landscaping, a rock hound only removes rocks from the first to second inch of ground. The rocks can only be in the 3/4" to the 4" size or it will do some damage to the teeth. The smaller rock go through the holes. Also stopping and shaking the rock hound, so the dirt comes out helps. Best to make 2 or 3 passes in different directions. Its for making a seed bed, not removing rocks from a garden. I would use the plow and disk method, or run the tiller at a 2 inch deep passes until you hit your desired depth. Do this at a really slow speed to advoid breaking the tiller, by the way who built it, some brands can take more abuse than others.

While you at the bachhoe project, just build a couple and sell them, its easy to make more than one. I am impressed with the cab(curtis couldn't do anybetter), i buy a hoe sight unseen from you.

May i recomend to use a bigger tractor to push the tree over, at least cut the root on the opposite side to make it fall over easyer. Power isn't the problem, its the weight of the 2210.

Sorry can't help, Never used or worked on a 2210 with a deck. The knob should turned then the deck is all the way up like all JD MMM decks. You may have to lift up on the deck a little to relief the weight from it, to get it to turn.

I don't own one, but have worked on them(mainly spring services)There the smallest JD i would still call a JD tractor. The new 110 series, are the same tractor as the scotts and sabrea. Other wise know as the home depot specials. Have you thought about the freedom mulching deck, they acually work pretty good in high grass. The Lt 160 is build very good for the price. Its not a tank like the older JDs, but not a throw away tractor. It will last at least ten years if maintained, 15 if you keep it inside. I know the sabera are junk, had to reweld a frame and replace a motor on another (it only had 135 before the motor went) So stay away from those.

I have no problem talking about garden tractors here as long as its a John Deere. Can't tell you anything on the 325 price, but have worked on them, a nice tractor.

What is the cost of rim guard per gallon? Do you mix rim guard with water or use it straight? If you mix it what is the ratio?

Assuming a 1979 Massey 205 standard model (no 4WD)I came up with around $1800 to $2300 the bare tractor. Retail sales might bring $4500 to $5500 for the bare tractor. You can figure maybe as much as $1000 to $1500 for the 2 mowers, but more realisticly $500 to $750. Less for the above on a trade in. If she is in #1 shape and looking real clean an pretty, you may get $3000 to $3700 for the entire shootin' match.

My 2000 Toyota Tundra Brake warning light is now coming on when I hit the brakes fairly hard from about 45 MPH. I I do sense that the Truck is not stopping as straight as it should or as quickly, hey but maybe its my imagination now that I see the light come on. Sort of Pavlovian! :)<br>

I'm hoping this is just one group of atypical cases, and that I just need to add some brake fluid. But man these people sound like they were loaded with wacky experiences that have not been the case in my 28000 miles of use so far.<br>

Just to give you a sense of price range the fork kit for the John Deere 430 loader is $1005.50. Now that is more to my line of thinking as steep! ;-) If interested the part # for the kit is BW15039. Oh by the way the fork kit weighs over 412 lbs. so that kills nearly 50% of your lift capability. Those Rankin forks are lookin' better all the time! ;-)

Toyota makes a nice 4 cylinder diesel pickup. That was primarily all the vehicles I saw while I was in Honduras. Almost everything is diesel due to the limited availability of fuel and need for a reliable vehicle.

Part of the problem is that most folks just don't appreciate or like the table manors of a diesel and now more recently they are not able in some cases to comply with Tier II EPA requirements. Primarily NOX emissions.

I'll tell you what; after driving my Cummins I will never go back to a gas engine again. When the Sargeant Major's Ford Taurus finally poops out, we plan to get a VW TDI Wagon Passat or other diesel auto.

Heck, now that Scott has found my dream pickup truck in his photo pictures #8; I may just stop looking! ;-)

Dennis, the warranty has a general disclaimer that says John Deere may deny warranty coverage if the part has failed due to abuse, neglect, etc. I suppose rolling it would fall into that category :) But I wouldn't be dumb enough to go into the dealership and say, "Hey! I rolled my tractor! Please fix under warranty."

Anyway, the only damage I can see is that some battery electrolyte leaked and one cell is pretty low. I won't even try to claim that under warranty - it gives me a good reason to buy a sealed AGM battery for it. I ran it around for an hour and everything seems just fine.
