Got to remember that you're only reading 200 words at a time. From our highway dept's experimentation with various stuff to slow down erosion on our gravel shoulders, I've got to agree with your friend. One of the experiments created clouds of dust kicked up by transports. The pit run I use on drives compacts and leaves a bed of stone that doesn't blow but I don't know how it do if planes were dropped on it. It also might not get compacted very well depending on how much traffic the strip gets. Many grading implements will disturb a compacted surface and create more loose stone until it's compacted again.

Box scrapers are like Swiss Army knives. They'll do everything but something else usually does a single job better and easier. They aren't the best for finish work. Like Mark mentioned, there are better tools that you might look at for that much areas and for that frequency. A hydraulic top-link would help box scraper operations immeasurably.

You havent seen either white pines, dwarf spruce or Arborvites, or any other choice on a berme before? It adds to the effect, and makes mowing and weed control growth easier..its real popular around these parts, and besides being popular it looks real nice!!

No doubt at all by me that it happened, and it's good there were no injuries to tractor or yourself.

I threw in the comment because for a short while when I first got my tractor I figured that I was compacting gravel by sitting a box scraper on the ground flat and then rolling the box down with the top link--figured I was getting some down-pressure. I was and it does compact gravel but it's only the weight of the box.

I also heard a wheelie-bar comment and may have thought that keeping an implement low on the 3ph would prevent tractor's front end from coming up very far. It doesn't and you likely know that. I just wanted to relieve anybody who may have the same early ideas I did of some misconceptions as soon as possible.

It might be worth more in areas where dealers are or were. There is a site where dealers are listed and maybe locating one that's closest and advertising in a local paper or e-bay might get the best price. But then dealing with things by phone etc. and transportation have costs too.

Good luck with finding a buyer. Maybe just putting a loader on it and using it until something serious breaks and then parting it out is a better alternative unless the size prevents doing something that has to be done.

Did the dealer fill the tank before delivery?
Did he offer free transportation or pay the transport charge?
If not, I'd sure give him hell!

I bought my MX5000 aug.2002. I got the 4n1 bucket for it.You can pick up 12 foot logs with it. With 170 hours on only problems i have had are the tran. sight glass in the back leaks put new one in still leaks. Tried every kind of glue. Epoxy has kept it in but still leaks.Also it blew a power steering hose. Still runs good.

An easy way to figure out torque on a diesel engine is to take the hp X 5252 and devide it by the rated engine speed so a 22hp engine (X5252) devided by 3200rpm = 36.1lbft of torque.

Cyclone Rake makes a SMALL product that does what you described. It sounds like what you need is a loader with a grapple. I've tried conveying leaf mulch with a blower before and it's not a time saving practice. The most time-efficent method of hauling away leaves that I've found is to make a big pile then load them into the back of my dump truck with a loader. If it's not much, I just break my back throwng them in the back of the truck. Good luck finding a solution!

Does anyone know a cross for the hydraulic pressure filter for a Duetz-Allis 5215HST? I have crossed nearly every maintenance part on this tractor but haven't found this filter. The brand name on the original filter is CAPA.

Been a long time since I had a 135, but seems i remember if you raised the position lever too far up, the hydraulic system was in "constant pumping" mode and would knock pretty loud. Does it knock only in the fully raised position?

It does work, just don't stop. You can bare it if going to slow with two high of RPM. Watch for areas that may be wetter asyou might roll the turf up if it gouges at all.

It's not only hard to diagnose from afar it's hard to diagnose right here! The worst thing is that I can't MAKE it happen. It comes and goes. Sometimes it happens a few times a day but I've had it go a couple of months without hearing it at all. These are all good suggestions. Since I drive on dirt roads all the time the bottom of the truck is pretty filthy so I can't really see anything through the layer of dirt. Pressure washing and going over the entire suspension with a bright shop light is probably the best first step. The tip on coil springs not being seated properly is a good one, and easy to check. The groan is probably in the front end - it actually sounds like it comes from under the driver so maybe it's engine or tranny mounts.

There are heaters available for those but not the frost plug style. To have a charger available to keep the battery warm works on them most of the time without any trouble. Contact a dealer for the heater if you feel you need more.

Oliver: I used a Kubota BX and a Deere 4100 to bulldoze raw land and install 750 feet of new gravel drive. A small machine will definitely do that job.

I agree and am sorry I essentially wrote one post twice. The first appear like it had not posted.
I am the opposite spectrum to AZ5ZO, most bear I have encountered were truely wild working and living in the back country. We tended to avoid contact with the bears so that they would not become accustomed to us.
We certainly not feed the bear or leave food wrapping where we were working to draw them. We had a hard enough time keeping the birds like the Whiskey Jacks (Camp Robbers) from landing on your finger and stealing your lunch. Totally unccustomed to human contact.
