I thought about adding the FEL since it comes with the $700 add-on hydralic valve required if you buy a snow thrower. Other than moving bark mulch in the spring, I'm not sure what else I'd use it for. I'm sure if I thought hard enough I could find reasons.

A dealer likely has a freeze plug type for the tractor. Generic ones made for the same diameter freeze plug would work but some of them are too long and the end may contact the water jacket.

Pretty good comment from Ducati. I know the 3ph wheelie bar isn't really the subject here and likely isn't serious either. I'll throw in a comment for people new to 3ph's since I operated under a misconception for awhile.

3ph's aren't held down. Only the implement weight and action of the ground keep them down. They're designed to float up and over bumps etc. and things would break if they didn't. What would happen in the tree situation is that the 3ph and weight box would rotate on the link pivots as the tractor front end lifted until it hit its mechanical stop, and then it would either stop the tractor or break the hitch. I think most stops would still limit a tractor to something less than vertical if they don't break, but an implement isn't going to work very well as a wheelie bar.

I remember this stuff when I'm dozing with the rear cutter on a box scraper. If I get the blade angle wrong the blade will cut some but the 3ph will start lifting rather than pushing the mound. If I'm not careful the 3ph will come up against its stops. It also can happen if I'm backing down a steep hill intending to start cutting at the bottom.

same can be said about mahindra's. I know, I have one, and at every single dealer I've talked to, it is the same answer, zero or near zero resale value. Sad to have a fairly new machine and be classed like the Belurus, unfortunately this is the way it is.

I should have been a little clearer. What i actually need is a machine, called an manufactured by Billy Goat that vacums up debris chops or shreds it an them blows it, in my case hopefully in to the front of a 24' enclosed trailer. An out again into a compost pile. I'm spending way to much time loading an unloading debris (grass clippings an leafs) We can get it to the trailer fast enough but have to dump sweeper on a tarp an drag it in the trailer. I seem to be the only one that can back the sweep into the trailer an I really need to be doing other things. Thanks Getrdun www.billygoat.com

My gut tells me this can't be fixed with something as simple as a shot of silicone spray. The chassis groan is very loud - it sounds like a steel building is twisting and collapsing. The groan easily drowns out the radio when it's playing loud. It's not reliably repeatable which makes it very hard to find.

I'm curious if anyone else with a Ranger has this problem.

A CAT 0 probably would work. I'd check if the gearbox on one is rated for the tractor's HP. If not, shear pins still probably would protect the box. A conversion from CAT 0 to CAT I would be pretty easy if an auger was found that had replaceable lower link pins. I have some CAT I or II pins and I imagine there are I or 0 pins as well. I also have some CAT II to I top link pin sleeves. I have to sleeve my CAT I pins up for CAT II hydraulic top-link loops. For the PHA problem, a CAT 0 loop in the boom would have to be sleeved up for the CAT I top-link mounts. I imagine CAT 0 to I sleeves are available.<br>

I haven't thought it through but I wonder if differences in the lengths of a CAT 0 boom mounted on CAT I lower link arms would affect how the bit would swing through vertical. If I remember, the yoke swings back and forth to accommodate auger swing. I suppose it's unlikely that the yoke would run out of range but it's a thought.<br>

I think that there is some confusion of tractor sizing and pricing here. The JD790 is what I would call a larger frame tractor and of coarse a B-2910 or 7800 would feel lighter. Kubota itself tells salespersonal to compare with the L-series. The B2910 to grand L 3130DT price differnce is 60 dollars different in the Grand L's favor!!!! Yes, less money, the implements are more for the Grand L but talk about feeling like more of a tractor!

There is a good difference between the two and I do like the features on the 2910 if you are looking at keeping the unit for long. To use the loader you will find that the mid range is the best and a big advantage over the 7500 two range transmission. The bigger rubber also helps to get around on a site with a lot of digging. We do have a lot of clay here so I know what you have to work with.

I think I need to tighten my glasses! I read L2350!!! Sorry as I would buy a L-2350 with that kind of hours on it. They are high as a good L235DT should be about 4500 to 5500 at a dealer maybe 6500 if extremely sharp. Still a good tractor any way for the money.

I'm looking at purchasing a new F150 SuperCab and wanted to find out a bit about others experience with X-plan pricing. We get this through a "partner" program where I work and after you sign up for the program, you're given the X-plan price, supposedly a best deal, no haggle price.<br>

For the truck I'm looking at, the price is just below the "invoice" price and overall, about a 12% reduction from MSRP. <br>

valid points murf, In the area I live in 4-wheelers, dirt bikes, mini-bikes,go-carts and the latest craze golf carts are used as basic transpartation, mostly by children between 11 and 17 years old. As the closest homes are 400ft apart and the nearest paved road is 5 miles away, there are a few established trails and all the kids know to stay out of the fields with crops so the kids ride the road edge back and forth to their friends homes. Now 3-wheeler were originally marketed as some kind of dirt,trail bike. Built to perform on un-improve land at a rate of speed to induce a thrill, just as a very large segment of 4-wheelers are today. Their demise came when the public opinion believed they were more dangerous than a dirt bike,thus the 4-wheeler was born. Also certainly the 13 year old driving that 3-wheeler took that turn to fast for that machine and the higher center of gravity with two riders was a factor but she was not moving at 20 plus mph more like 12 or 15 mph and probably braked late. The fact that one of our TRX-300s made that same turn just before was startling, but that 3-wheeler will dust any of my 4-wheelers in a flat out drag race. That much power and that unstable?? anyway I'd read this forum when I first signed up and when it became active again and then the tumble in my drive ,anyway thats my .02 worth.
also the best time I ever had riding 4-wheelers by far was in the foothills surounding Kingman AZ. (sister lives there) and my brother-in-law took me on this ATV day trip sponsered by the local ATV club great rocky climb atleast 20 machines in our group and no 3-wheelers all

Don't ask me how many times I read that manual while waiting the month and a half for my 790 :( I wish it only needed to occupy one night, unfortunately my dealer had none in stock when I ordered. I had tractor envy in the worst way reading all the other "new owner" posts.

yeah, I'm good for the width,my 790 has r-4's and my 60" box scraper is about 1 1/2 inches wider than my outside side walls of the rears measured with a 4 ft pro laser level.
My r-4s are titan 15 x 19.5 however i do not know of the rim offset, I do know that they will not swap for width and things are tight.

Sorry- Broken Computer!!

I did installation myself with hand tools. Worst part was had to remove ring gear from carrier to get spider pin out. Carrier is extremely heavy! I did not have any trouble, however I do have alot of tinkering in my background, so i've been inside axles before. Nothing that any semi mechanically inclined person could do with minimal fuss. 4 out of 10

Clutch type "Posi" would be better, (less/no ratcheting) but at the time price was prohibative. I've driven Detroit lockers "forever" so I am used to the clicking, clunking, chattering and outright banging which a locker does. Like I said, 100k miles with no mechanical problems.

BTW, rear anti-lock brake performance is awkward at best now.

I have had a 7274 since 1995 & it is a great tractor
I've had the fuel line problem & also the "no start" problem that Ted on this form help me fix
I have the standard tranny
You should as stated above try the mid mount mower
I have the 60" model & they are made by Woods & give a very nice cut as long as the blades are sharp
It especially nice in the spring when growth is rapid

Hi

My JD990 will do the same thing. The dealer suggested reducing the rpm before shifting into gear. I have found that when I let the tranny rev to high rpm in neutral, that it will take a few seconds to spin down after pressing the clutch.

I usually run into this problem when I set the brake, tranny in neutral, rpm's up, to jump off the tractor for a moment to grab or move something. I have found that by pressing in the clutch when I first get back into the seat, then release the brake, will give enough time for the tranny to spin down and shift into gear smoothly.

I don't have any other problems shifting between gears.
