Where did you buy your filter funnel Ken. I have been looking for one but have not found any locally or on the internet for a sane price. I have the filter on my fuel tank but another sure does not hurt.

It's a done deal. I am getting a TC35D with HST, a 16LA loader, a Bush Hog 765H backhoe (frame mounted)and a Bush Hog rotary cutter 60 inch "Squeeler". Should have it by 10/30/03. He would've delivered it so I could use it until the backhoe came in but I want it all at once.
I tried them all out and even liked the supersteer but did not see where I would need it.
What do you think?

I know it well. I just sold bobcat, and I've run into that factor many times.

Where would one get the "tooth" bar?
How easy it is take off, or is it permanent?

I haven't had a Ford for a while and I have not had your specific problems, but here goes anyway...

I would look at the body mounts for the groan. When you get this sound, it may not be simply the left turn etc. that is causing it but may include the general twisting that the turn causes on the frame and flexing at the body mounts.

I have had lots of leaf springs on many different vehicles. Some have squeaked and others haven't. On the squeaky ones I lubed them with oil. I had better luck with motorcycle chain lube lasting a bit longer, but since it is open, it will wear off. I have never seen a truck leaf spring with isolation pads. That doesn't mean that they aren't done, but I don't know anything about them. I have had Fords, Toyotas, GMCs, ...

I do tend to like the high performance polyurethane bushings that are sold for leaf springs. If you have some metal to metal contact at the mounting site, this may help and will last longer.

Now that I think about it, you should also check the bushings on your anti-sway bar on the front of your truck. That could make a groan if you twist the truck frame and the bushings are worn so that the bar is contacting metal.

Thanks for the tip Scooter, I had visions of beating the deck all to heck. I just got through removing the LX4 Cutter and putting on the Frontier Box. Removing the cutter was a challenge. The John Deere manuals don't seem to connect all the dots for us mechanically challenged types. At some point I'll have to learn to remove the MMM and FEL but I'm having too much fun sitting in the seat right now.

I have had the LED lights in for about a month now, and I like them. These lights are not going to let you read a newspaper at night or land an airplane, but they line my 350 ft driveway with markers that are easily seen. There are no pole lights around my property, and these little lights light up the drive well enough to walk it at night.

The lights have been staying on all night due to the efficient LED technology and the normal sunlight has kept them going strong.

I looked at these links and I don't really know why Roadmaster called their product an active suspension. I think that you can do anything that the RoadMaster setup will do by modifying the existing leaf springs. An extra leaf and perhaps an adjustment of the curve will accomplish the same thing without the addition of a dozen extra parts that could break.

The reason that I looked at this post is that I thought the active suspension my my H2 might be the similar. It is not.

The H2 uses a sort of air cylinder in addition to the regular springs, to level out or even lift the rear end of the vehicle. It is not an air shock, but is more like an air spring. This is a truly active suspension that operates on its own or with driver intervention.

There are much more sophisticated active suspensions on the Porsche 928 and some other German cars, but since the H2 uses a lot of GMC technology, it may be adaptable.

I've been lurking and reading -- still have not made up my mind yet as to what to buy. Another thought I had -- as a way of "justifying" a tractor, how helpul do people think it would be in the installation of a new gravel driveway? Or, should I hire out the installation and just look to maintain the driveway in the future? I am a school administrator, so in the summertime I have lots of free time (and I'll be building this coming summer).

The Kubota dealer here in the Ft. Worth area sells and AGMEIER ED32, called a 32" lite, for use on the BX series tractors. Problem with using most PHD on the BX is they are too long and you can't raise high enough for ground clearance. The ED32 is CAT 1 and comes with a 6" single flite auger for $597.00.

Whether 3ph or loader forks are best depends on what you need to lift and what your tractors lifting capacity is. Often the 3ph will lift a LOT more weight than the loader (in my case it will lift 1000+ lbs more).

The JD document people do a poor job tracking their specs. In one instance I found that the marketing literature, the "specs" page on their website, and the owners manual all had different numbers for ground clearance.

But in fairness to them, there can be a lot of permutations between the different options and any engineering changes that might come along during production.

My comments about parts availability come from another Jinma product, the Jinma chipper. When talking to a Jinma dealer in Oregon about those I asked about parts availability. The belts and bearings could be picked up at NAPA, but when I asked about things like gearboxes, shafts, or flywheels he said it might take a couple of months to get those. I still might buy the chipper, but that kind of parts lag time would be hard to swallow on a tractor.
