That would explain the hp and torque difference. The brochure lists them both at 91.3 cid. My mistake for trusting the literature without asking somebody.

Whoops. Forgot to address the ballast question.

I would not operate that tractor with that large bucket without at least 900 pounds of rear ballast. That would be the MINIMUM, more might be better. It can be any combo of wheel weights or fluid or three point weight you choose.

If you think that sounds like a lot of ballast please see my #8 picture.

On the warranty question, let me know what you find. I just tried to buy an extended warranty a couple months ago and was told it was not available on this model.

I suppose if Mark were were riding a 3 wheeler and had to make a hard right turn to avoid running into a bear or cougar he might be just a little bit left-leaning and gun-grabbing... but it would be perfectly understandable given the circumstances, ROFLMAO.

Welcome and congratulations. The 790 will make a nice addition to the 8N. Make sure you are pretty conservative with the weight and liberal with the ballast use the forks. They really shift the weight moment far out in front of the tractor. Enjoy and look forward to the pics. I always see something that I learn new in the pics. folk post.

Looks more like a nice garage/shop to me. You do nice work Eric! I did not realize you live in Northern AL? Up until I retired, I did quite a bit of business with the folks in Redstone Arsenal. Would love to have a barn like that for my stuff.

A couple of years ago we had a real sharp IH 82 in trade tht was always stored inside. I knew the combine for many years and it was ready to go. THey were better then the early ones as they used an auger to work the header instead of the canvass. Looked like a 10 for original unrestored and had trouble getting 2000 for it. Just a small market for them. These combines on the level will run with a 30pto horsepower tractor on level ground.

chipuren, thanks for the good parts and information post! Hope you will keep us updated with news and developments with these tractors. I have looked at them several times in the past but did not know enough about them or logistical support available. Learning info. such as this definitely changes my view of the Jinma line for the better.

I'll say to myself 'Maybe I was wrong about something; maybe somebody knows some things better than I do; maybe I got myself into an unrealistic position and have been just doing ego defense; maybe there aren't any points that need proving or that anybody else needs to listen to. I'll say that to myself, and for myself just put this one to bed and go on from here.'

These 'p-contests' we get into from time to time don't do the site any good. When they're active tractor content drops off. Lord, think how this sounds to anybody who comes here to learn about tractors. I'll ask myself the question 'If this site is about tractors, who cares about how I live, what I've done or what I think and feel?' I'll say to myself 'I'm guilty of ranting and being full of myself, and now I'll just stop.

I wasn't aware of any baggers thru Cadet for the 44" deck but the unit in reasonable shape should be about 2000.

Yes, I've heard of that system before. Always thought it was pretty clever but it never occurred to me to wonder where the fuel came from. Sure is good for Yanmar owners w/o manuals to know that maybe they have a bottle that has to be topped up.

Sounds pretty good. The knuckles, dust-covers and cover springs have separate part numbers in my Ford Manual so it's likely that replacement covers could be ordered. Depending on price and availability an entire new assembly may be a good idea though.

Yes, better the cylinder, and it sounds like a good outcome. For future reference I'm curious if the cylinder was single or double acting and if single acting was it leaking oil externally? I'd appreciate a post if you know.

Well according to the 2003 Blue Book in Excellent condition at high value for a 1983 JD214. It is worth $870.00 and the High value in excellent condition for the Blade is $46.00

Thanks Pete I guess I should put the belly mower on an try it before I try to sell it. I use the tractor mostly for final grade work an seed bed prep. Have a little JD the wife likes to mow with, got the best of both worlds there, I don't have to mow an it keeps her of my Cub. I had been looking for a 30 to 45hp Kubota but I couldn't pass up the deal I got on the 7275 an since I've used it quit a bit I'm very impressed with it the hyd. on the loader are an like you said very healthy front axle. I'll check for loose bolts on the frame. Finally got owners, shop an engine manuals on the way. I'll sleep better after I've done a once over myself Getrdun

Yep, I saw this a day or two ago on foxnews.com. He was a great character actor. Thanks! I noticed in the 410 loader manual the loader blade seemed to be for 420 and up and I just wondered why a 410 couldn't handle the same thing.By the way thanks Mark I read all your posts before deciding on the 4115.Just got it last week so far so good.
