It just like a car dealer. The smaller dealers have great service and help in deciding on a tractor. While larger dealer can give you a better price, but otherwise really doesn't care. Then there are those dealers that don't fit like Finch services. They got to be the worse dealer ever. They quoted me on a tractor that was 10% over the MSRP so you would haggled it down with the saleman to the MSRP. While Glahill's tractor mart is the best, they found excalty what i needed, and sold it to me for cost. Thats what you get for dealing with the owner. (My 955 was a trade in they wanted off the lot). Almost all their new tractors are 10% less than the MSRP. Plus a package dealer gets you a heck of a discount.

Well,I'm now a paying member , thus I read you guys's replies in full! Is that why you wanted my e-mail address Mark ? Anyway, the hoe has plenty of power. It'll slide the tractor all over the place if I'm not careful, just like the full size stuff I operate at work. Before anyone says anything , I realize this machine is a little different, more fragile, which is why I (or I should say my friend unit5alive) brought up the subject of a subframe to begin with. Another thing that bothers me is that the hoe doesn't sit level with the tractor. It wants to flop left to right because I can't tighten the check chains. Dealer mechanic said I would have to take off limiter tube every time I put hoe on. What a pain that would be!!! Boy, just wondering if I should maybe have gone with a Woods setup and just dealt with possible warranty problems down the road. Sorry if it sounds like I'm whining..... just concerned. Thanks for listening.

Bigger is safer for you if you are driving, but the statistic also say they are a hazard for the person in the smaller car.
The large SUV has become like the large station wagon of old, the family lugger. To a certain extent the engineering is the same and we have moved to the same vehicles our father's drove only with slightly different bodies. Unfortunately the driving skills do not match the mass.
When I was young I lived in an area where the roads were like the California. The rod rodders (car boys) tended to get a car souped up and then proceed to place it in the ditch. It never made sense to me to build a quarter miler in an area where the only straight paved flat quarter mile had hair pin turns at either end. To this end we went the road race route. Going fast made no sense unless you could negociate the next corner.
My 544 s with ported B20 would walk almost any car, cornered well and topped 130. Including stops for gas. I travelled from Terrace to Vancouver once in 12 hours (Mark). We would race at Westwood or the Boundary Bay Airport. In MA I worked with a friend on VSCCA MG cars and raced them on the track.
In 97 I bought a new Ford truck with the extra cab. I drove it a while and then I remember thinking this thing drives like a car. Then it hit me I had bought my fathers Crown Vic.
Like Chief I drive the Ram 3500 on distance trips. Only the truckers argue with me as most SUVs are smaller than the beast. Still it gets 20 miles to the gallon, better than the SUV and more useful to me.

The last two vehicles we bought required us to get them to the dealer for warranty service. I don't see why a tractor should be any different. Dealers who offer free transport to their customers during the warranty period should be applauded, but I can't think of any industry where it's normal for the manufacturer to pay for transportation.

What do you think about this warranty problem

I'm probably not explaining clearly how I invision it.
Its common around here, where a row of Dwarf trees (evergreens, pine, fur or other)line up next to the fence line. The mulch/fill part will not be mowed, smaller berme than whats being described is used. An actual application
which I just got feedback on, was using Arborvities and/or white pines and the berme was no bigger than 30" high and 8 ft wide. Mulch was the covering w/ weed control cloth underneath...does this paint a clearer picture? This will be butted up next to the fence line, so no mower will be used between berme and fence line.

Need advice on building a privacy barrier w dwarf fur or spruce

Hello all - I'm a very new guy when it comes to buying <br>
mid size tractors. I have been beating the Ol Horse to death. I do not want to make any mistakes but this procrastination is driving me crazy. I located a good used JD 4110 with a front loader at below $13,000. I want to cut grass on 15 + - acres. I also want to add attachments for a 2 acre garden and maintain a small pasture. I do not want to end up with a tractor that is a small garden type that will be over worked. Also would like any information on transporting it. I thank all of you that can give me some<br>

I recently purchased a Woods toothbar (TB model series) which fits over the cutting edge of my Kubota heavy duty bucket. It's a very nice unit but pricey - $400. See the url. Jim

If you are ever looking at something a little larger, one of my cousins is the US distributor for something called Super Structures. The smallest one they sell is 30'x40', and the DIY price is about $3600. Their fabric has a lot less problems with condensation than most. Call 888.267.3821, ask for Jason or Bill, and tell them Sean told you to call. Sorry, no web pictures yet.

Looks like that is probably the case. Can you modify the cap to fit on your current steering wheel? Either that or see if you can find a wheel in a tractor junk yard and install it.

The limited cat 1 hitch means that it doesn't have as much lift height as a cat 1 on a larger tractor. This is due to the smaller tire size.

Sounds like your implements are sized right for the 2210. You definitely need rear ballast when you're using the FEL. Even with light bucket loads it gets light in the rear without ballast. Your 48" box should be enough weight. Carry your loads low to lower the center of mass and reduce the "tip over" index.

Love my 2210. It does more than I expected.

Thanks for the more detailed info. I can see that this could be (and will be) frustrating. I have been working in a dusty environment with a lot of dirt. I haven't noticed any heat build-up yet...even with the fine dust floating around. Maybe the dust particles aren't big enough to cause the problem. I won't have to deal with this until next spring. Maybe since I will be mowing only our residential lawn this won't be real bad...should be a little different than mowing taller weed areas, etc...but then again I could be wrong. Will watch carefully when that time comes.

Its probably to most least expensive attachment, and one of the most useful. I got it through my dealer, so it cost me
about $325 installed. Two bolts on each side, hugs the FEL lip and protects it. Each tooth can be replaced if broken.
When I'm fine grading I remove it, and use the FEL for tight areas and the RB for larger. Works well for me...

lakeman, you can use Stabil in diesel fuel. It says so on the back of the bottle. I use it in my off road diesel that I buy in bulk. The folks that make Stabil make John Deere's fuel additive.

Like Ken said, look in the some of the older threads. The latest thread entitled "Summer / winter diesel conditioners", aside from the "small food fight" in that thead, there is the info. about the fuel conditioners. If you are going to store diesel fuel for any great length time, it would be wise to add a microbiocidal to it as well to prevent any little beasties (algae) growing in it. You can buy it at Tractor Supply Center or other farm stores.

Maybe the numbers don't add up, but the laptop is noticeable quicker and crisper.

I don't know how much hp the tractor has. The usual solutions for a slightly under powered tractor are to make sure the rad isn't clogged and the fan belt is tight and then run it at pto rpm but use a lower gear.
