I'd look at how fast a species grows in your area. You likely want privacy now and many trees are pretty slow growing in some areas. Some species limb up from the ground after they start maturing and then there goes the privacy. Some species are Christmas tree shaped and also wouldn't provide great privacy. If you ever want to take them out it might be good to avoid species that tend to form taproots. Poplar grow fast and provide decent dense bush for a few years till they get bigger but they loose their leafs in the winter and again there goes the privacy. Besides most deciduous species make for pretty ratty bush--especially during winter.

I know these are issues rather than suggestions. I'd probably think of something like a cedar hedge myself and that would still take a few years.

I don't know about mounding. Here in logging country reforested areas are mounded only if the soil is bad enough that only jack pine would grow very well. A nursery where the stock would be bought could advise on spacing for a particular species as well as species that hedge up well.

That unit was replaced by the B-2150 tractor. They had about 22.5 horsepower. That unit is extremely low houred but is still only about a 4,500 dollar unit.

On one of my rare trips to 'the city' last week (trips to town are barely tolerable but trips to the city are rare enough that they qualify as adventures) I noticed a commercial slab on grade being poured. It looked like a high-speed conveyer that was flinging concrete at least 50' off the end of it. I probably saw more concrete as we drove by than is mixed in my entire Township in a year.

I recalled that when I read this thread and thought 'Well those things may not be suitable for small projects but they'd sure be a lot easier on the back, legs, arms and disposition than wheel barrows shovels and hoes.' Bet you're glad the project is done.

When a manufacturer offers a 50" for the front I normally relate to that as a good width. Knowing Kubota's consevative nature on there equipment I put a 54" on the back of a freinds and it's great, and we did a lite 60" trade-in on one and that seems good. I was worried to go anymore than that and I would think the 64" would be a handful. With the blower going back and getting covered with snow while working you will be quite heavy. Needless to say with a hydro if you put an 84" there you still could find a speed to run it might just look a little funny. Anyone got a camara handy!

I'm not sure when all the info will go up on the web site only on the new RVT 900 that that will be on around December and they expect a February ship date for them. I can't get liturature for them but was hoping on selling a few before they get here.

Generally you need more memory if the hard drive runs a lot when you're not saving or reading files. Windows and software upgrades keep getting a little bigger and a computer that starts off OK with minimum memory may start using the hard drive for memory after a few upgrades and additional software.

Kim's tricks are pretty good for saving a bit here and there at the sacrifice of performance in other areas that aren't heavily utilized but memory is cheap and more chips is a pretty easy solution too. I tend to rely on software system optimization routines. Most times they second-guess WIN better than I can.

I hopped into a utility and noticed that I'm using 110M of memory for WIN98, the dial up, IE6 and MS Word 97. If I had 160M of memory that would leave a 50M workspace. For example, loading a graphics package and small image file might take the entire space and cause WIN to start paging to disc, which really slows things down. It's very easy to burn up 50M with current hoggy WIM systems and software, and Kim's tricks might help prevent paging. It wouldn't make much difference to my 512M of memory, which still isn't adequate for the graphics work doing and I think I'm on my way to a gig.

The aux circuit at 7.5A would manage 1 55W light as you found out or two 35W ones OK (one 55W light draws about 4.5A at 12V).

If you ever wanted to hook up another light the circuit wouldn't be adequate so maybe a circuit from the battery or starter solenoid would be good. If the starter solenoid connection has a convenient nut on a threaded shaft it's just a mater of crimping an appropriate sized terminal on some wire ahead of a fuse holder. You do have to be sure the unprotected length of wire is well protected mechanically and against shorts and it's the same deal with the battery. I use a terminal under the hex nut of the battery cable lug. A circuit from the solenoid is a shorter run than from the battery. One from the battery may be a bit easier to make and a bit more protected.

I saw that very ad, a couple of months ago. The garage is exactly the one I am talking about, same manu., but is 28' instead of 24' long and 12oz. and 10oz. cover material. That dealer when you go to there home page no loger is in business. He gives a whole rundown as to why. Unless I am reading things wrong. When we try to mow using a 5 foot finish mower, the tractor engine gets hot. We usually run the tractor in fifth gear with the 4 wheel drive disengaged. The engine has the proper coolant mixture. Any ideas or solutions? Thanks.

The clippings, leaves, etc are thrown up from the mower deck, and they are drawn to the exterior grills by the radiator's fan, which draws lots of air thru these grills. The debris collects and builds up on the grills, and is difficult to remove because it just gets sucked back as you try to sweep it off.
The interior screen gets clogged by fine particles that either are pulled thru the exterior screen, or find their way thru small gaps and seams in the body work.
This definitely is a major issue for these models, different than with conventional CUT's, which have the grill and radiator up front (I had had a 755, 955, 1070, and now a 4700. They all incurred grill buildup of bugs, leaves, etc, but nothing like what happens to my 595. I could mow all day with those other tractors, and only clean the screens when I was done. With the 595, I clean the exterior screens continuously, and watch the temp gauge with one eye all the time. I can tell instantly when the interior screen starts getting blocked by the needle starting to climb.
But, like everything in life (wife, kids, job, me, etc) nothing is perfect, and I still like the tractor.

There is something to be said for mass, the trouble is the cars are smaller and SUV's are bigger. If you drive a SUV like it is a car then someone may get hurt, although it may not be you.
I have always figured the best compromise was a Volvo, built like a truck, but the economy of a car. I am not sure the new ones are as tough though.

I've read Dickweeds rant and he seems to have gotten blasted by to much spam and or hidden fees in the past.
It may be like getting stuck in traffic to much and then ya blow!

Or maybe he was just trying to get peoples goat to see what happened?Certainly is alot of traffic on this post.Hmmm??

I personally think it's kind funny in a wierd sort of way.

JD, the Kubota will handle the pressure washer fine as long as the heat isn't turned up to 200 degrees and the pressure is around 2000. Power service will work fine as that would be my recommendation for winter operation. I try not to add to much as far as additives as I do remember on a gas engine that I got it hot enough of a mix trying to overcome moisture that the plugs dropped two electrodes into the engine! By the way with the engine oil staying as clean as it does on the Kubotas I like those oil level holes as I keep going blind.

I do not know the price difference. I have the Super Heavy Duty Bucket. It is excellent. I have done a tremendous amount of digging and loading with it.

It won't even let me in.

When I try the forgotten password feature it asks me where I was born.

When I tell it when I was born it says I am wrong, try again and we go into an endless loop.

It is one screwed up system.
