Chief, we have a GE that is 13 years old. Never had any problem, yet.

Yes it works fine for me. I had to disable the pop up blocker features on my browser to make it work though. Might be why yours does not work.

Lowes definitely has better prices and selection. May just be regional thing. I talked to kid about refrigetators at Lowes and he was highly motivated and seemed to be on his game. I'll start another thread to talk about refrigerators. ;-)

I think most if not all fittings used for steel hydraulic tubing are flare fittings. I don't know if compression fittings are approved for hydraulics use but I doubt it. It'd be best if a hydraulics shop made the fittings. There are also bending and routing issues.

Installation of the probably fittings requires a double flare on the tube ends. Good tools are needed. The tube may be metric and then metric tools would be required, which may be difficult to locate. If you haven't got the tools a shop do it cheaper than 'do it yourself' for a one-time job. You'll likely hear about sources of manuals etc. from other posters.

There is a 'work light' fuse in the fuse box, but I guess the lead is still under the dash somewhere. The best solution seems to run a separate fused lead from the battery... The supplied circuit is only 7.5 Amps and running a new wire would probably be easier than taking the dash apart.

Most all engines have a way they can be started with ease, some just don't start well at all. There haven't been to many complanints of these tractors for starting yet unlike there american fathers before them but it sounds like you might have a small air or fuel leak at best leaving a gap in the fuel train. I'd keep trying your new found secret to prove it right as well as review your owners manual to verify your procedures for starting as being right.

Eeglot, I've got about 20 hours on the tractor now, the last 5 or 6 with hydraulic implements. I did feel the lines to see if they were vibrating, but they weren't. At one point, I thought I heard the hum you heard, but it subsided quickly and I haven't heard it since. Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner; I was out of commission for a week or so with the crud and we've had company visiting.

A repair manual is needed to check out some of these ideas. You might say how many hours are on the engine. This could be a complex problem and if it's a high hour engine and close to needing a rebuild the easiest solution might be to rebuild it. I also didn't recognize the brand of oil but that doesn't mean much. Some brands retain viscosity at high temperatures better than others. If the oil light doesn't come on initially you might try some light work and see how it goes. If it's a thermo-siphon cooling system (w/o a water pump) the system may be partially obstructed or the tractor just worked beyond it's capacity.

Specific testing of a relief valve (if the pump has one) would be difficult. If the pressure starts out normal then the relief isn't likely the problem (a repair manual should say what's normal). A parts manual would confirm if the assembly is OK. The valve on my Ford looks like an elongated hex head fitting. There isn't an external spring but other pumps may be different. Some engines have internal pressure lines and there are seals on some of these, which are other sources of potential pressure loss.

I can supply manuals. Pressure is in the 2100 psi range. I'd guess flow would be in the 3-5.5 gpm range. You can cut the pressure line & put a valve in series with the 3 point. ROPS will be hard to find . Find a welder to make you a heavy canopy bracket. No one will build you a ROPS for liability reasons

I think all tractors have this problem to some extent, depending on what you're doing. I have the same problem with the radiator screen on my 4310 when I'm bush hogging in dry conditions, and that's with a front radiator screen and the bush hog on the 3ph.

I would concur with DennisCTB; if you need digging done it is usually cheaper to get the proper size backhoe or high hoe in and have the job done once and for all than it is to
futz around with a loader and tractor. I use the tractor (4310) to do the cleanup; for the digging, I get the local contractor who gets everything done in short order - they know how to operate the equipment, and the cost per hour is reasonable.

I'm no expert but this is what I have found. The Engine Oil Filter 86546618 is a stock filter for several of the NH tractors and is made in the USA. The 87771912 (SBA 140517020) is made in Japan by Denso and is TWICE the price of the 86546618. The parts computer at the dealer service department calls out the 87771912 but the 86546618 works just fine. You are right that it is about twice the size which should mean that the oil will cool a little better due to surface area. This is a PLUS. My TC33D also came with the 86546618. Since 1999, the "called out" filter has changed from the 86546618 to the 86533316 (SBA 340500770) then to the 87771912 - INCREASING price each time. I use the 86546618 and change it every 50 hours when I change oil (Mobil One 10W30). Just my two cents.

Don't know the tractor. If I were guessing I'd say the slowest speed is likely 540 rpm and the other choices are likely 750 and 1000 rpm.

If your implements take 540 rpm inputs I'd say use the lowest speed pto at something less than the max position on the hand throttle and see how they work. A mower won't cut very well if it's going too slow and you'll probably know if it's going too fast.

I guess the problem is that the tractor doesn't have a tach. Engine speed isn't real critical for most pto as long as you're in a 540 position for operations and most PTO rpm's are usually a few hundred revs below the max no load rpm that you get from the full throttle position when the tractor isn't in neutral. If you know somebody who has a tractor with a tach you could listen to the engine at the max no load point and then at the pto rpm to get a sense of how much to back off the hand throttle.
