Had one of my freinds bust my a#% pretty bad this weekend. I took a Cadet 4x2 to our snowmobiles clubs membership party at there land which is about 45 acres to give tours on. Took him for a ride to show him the property, then he was doing it and at the end of the day he says I'll give you 2000 down and give me the 0% for 36 months!!! I couldn't believe it as he was about to buy a golf cart as soon as we could find another one. His daughter on Sunday put four hours driving it around the property (he figures he won't have to mow as much)as well as he's done several trips to my house. Fellow from the school that I tried to sell one to this spring called this morning told of the school super being one of those people to take the tour, he told me to get one up there asap as they were ready. Go figure!

Art, you're an optimist! Maybe the new models will not be improved so much as they will be "value engineered". Kubota makes a good tractor so I'm probably wrong, but that does seem to be the way of the world right now.

To me it just seems like the 1500 is under powered. Maybe this a just a gas guy speaking and not a diesel guy.

I am glad to see that I am not the only person to have some trouble burning a pile of brush. Hopefully with some of these ideas it will be easier in the future.

Mark did do a nice job on the bucket. The only thing to watch for is not to add tomuch weight as it will lower your lift capacity but it will work fine.

I have been putting in some landscape lights. In another thread, I mentioned my previous problems with solar lights and suggested that efficient LEDs might be an answer. I have an LED flashlight that will last 200 hrs on a single set of AAA batteries. <br>

Well, I bought some new solar powered lights from Malibu that use LED lights rather than bulbs. These came in a kit from Home Depot for $37 for eight lights. These are accent lights and do not do a lot of area lighting, but area lights are also available. (But, I can clearly see my driveway at night with even the accent lights)<br>

In my previous experience with Siemens solar lights, the bulbs would only last a few months and the lights would not stay on the entire night. So far the LED lights from Malibu stay bright all night and use much smaller batteries. To top that off, the whole light costs less than five dollars and the bulbs for the Siemens lights were more than $2 each and I had to buy about two per year. <br>

These look like a good approach if you can get good sunlight for the night light at least a few hours each day.

As part of the routine maintenance of our units the air filter elements are high on the 'To Do' list.

Every morning, as part of the circle check each operator does, one of the tasks is to empty the pre-filter and tap the loose dust out of the element. Beyond that, while the oil is draining the air filter elements get blown out from a line on the truck-mounted compressor. The filter is only replaced once a year.

It's not that it can't be but I'd be doing some real studing of the leak before I'd jump on that thought. They also will stop the fuel from going any further down the top side of the tank.

A Curtis loader blade without the curl circuit is just short of useless. When you lift tha loader arms to push off the top of a snowbank the plow would be sticking stright up in the air.

I have neighbors witht he Curtis loader blade and they say if you do it you need the third valve.

13500 for low and 15300 for high. That is not counting a deck you paid 3000 for with a 1350 to 1500 value or the low hours. I would probably be around the 17000 mark for a start. It does depend on your area as to how strong your local dealers are and there pricing. If you are in an area that they are noted for lowballing prices you might be in trouble as they will keep your price down do to the dealer financing options. I do hope yours has the newer front axle!

As part of my 'bail conditions' negotiated between myself & my good lady after last years little ... health problem ... I have agreed to conduct my 'work' during 'business hours' only, with the goal being that if I'm allowed to go back to work in the near future it will be easier to work only 35 - 40 hours per weeks.

Thus my absence here in the evenings and on weekends.

It's working very well, but you guys make it REALLY tough when I miss all the good stuff.....LOL.

I'm glad everyone was able to move on.

If there are no definite answers about MMM compatibility, I'd try mounting it on your tractor before buying it. MMM frames are fairly specific to a tractor, and MMM's that are compatible with a loader are even more specific to a tractor and loader model. There'd be a good chance that even if the MMM goes on both tractors it may work with a loader on one tractor but not on the other. A lot of people do have to take off their loader to use a MMM because there often is nothing available that works together.

AS a dealer and often someone that knows better just doesn't act that way. It can be very difficlult to adapt from one machine to another. The drives might need changing to reverse or to have the right speed, this is harder then the mounts and lift. The time and frustration maight make it easier to trade machines for what you might like to do.

You should be out buying the blower or blade now. My choice for your area of coarse is the blower. Just a pickup for your note on telephone poles and snow height. The poles are a lot taller today then even 30 years ago much less 50 years ago!

I prefer the trailer units as you don't always need them and they are the easiest to take on and off. They also go from one tractor to the other with just buying the boot for the deck. The capacity is large enough on them to haul a good load so you don't need to spend all your time unloading.

Good info, and that's the second reason why I have a parts manual. The first reason is for the exploded diagrams. There are all sorts of notes in my Ford manual about part differences before and after production upgrades or for models marketed if different regions. My manual is hard copy and may be a bit out of date but a dealer's shouldn't be.

There's a good chance that's the problem, but you'd also think that a parts guy would have noticed several dated entries in the manual and would have asked for the tractor's serial number.
