Chief If I remember correctly your tractor gets parked in a cushie spot. Cool in summer and warm in winter?

Mine hauls the fire wood in and sits near the wood furnace all winter over the floor drain.

When I have completed the work requiring all of my lighting I shut down the biggest lights before I head for garage. I keep tractor at a fast idle while I clean the bulk of snow off whatever I am using. Idle down and move it back inside.

I have never had a wattage concern or a problem starting. But then again battery only 3 years old now.

Cutter, I have neighbors at my property with all of the above. Most of what I looked at is a LOT more $$. The ATV are around 7k for the biggest ones I have looked at. The Gators are nice as well but the Polaris is very nice. They make a commericial version that you will find some JD dealers handle. The Cushman would not be for me but the EZ go is a option, especially at that price. The ones my neighbors have are green with a hard top. Not fast or going to pull or haul mutch. I like the gators or the Commercial Polaris the best but there are lots of choices in that market. Dave

I share AC's suggestion. I have a 6.5' hoe on my 3,000 lbs. 24 pto hp tractor/loader. I think of it as slightly small for the tractor, but only slightly small. It also is a 3ph mount, which stress tractor frames more and I wouldn't put a bigger hoe on it. That's an easy attitude for me to have since it really don't need to dig deeper than 5'-6'. I could use more reach sometimes though. I understand the trade up idea, but the idea should be tempered with how deep you ever will need to dig without a contractor.<br>

The weight probably is manageable with ballast in the loader bucket. That would prevent to loader blade from being dug in, which is standard practice to keep the hoe from moving the tractor around, and a big hoe on a small tractor can really move it around. However, 3ph specs often should be de-rated for many hoes. The weight is distributed further behind the link arms then most spec definitions. Extending the boom and stick with a full bucket also puts the weight distribution further back and swinging a full bucket may tend to tip the tractor. Anyway, the idea seems marginal at best and there may be safety considerations. Besides, operation of many 7.5' hoes would be pretty slow when driven from 14 pto hp.<br>

The size cylinders and leverage in the frame design plus the system pressure create power in a hydraulic system. Pump volume affects the speed of operation. Higher pto speed may create greater volume butI wouldn't run the pto at the higher rpm unless certain the pump is designed for it. Even so, higher rpm may produce a faster hoe but wouldn't affect power. It also would take more engine power, which the tractor may not have.<br>

Craig Yesterday afternoon I was over at Boys (oldest son)house digging out a couple of trees over an embankment. Lower out rigger streched out all the way, top just barely out. Anyways real steep side slope and had to dig in several different positions. Backing in I had to keep the hoe turned up the slope and dipper streched out low as a counter weight.

My Hoe did not move on the mounts at all. I was watching because of your post. (The value of this site again).

Does yours still move? If so you ought to take a real hard look at it or go and beat the snot out of your service guys to make sure the mounting is right and is solid.

Hope you got it working by now. You should be able to find a belt the right length at a box store but sometimes they are too wide--at least that's what happened for my riding mower. I'd check both the hardware and the automotive sections. Small engine shops also have a supply of belts that tend to be a different selection than the box store ones.

Still almost anything will work temporarily even if it does ride too high on the pulley. If it's too narrow will just ride on its side in the pulleys. Old panty hose are sometimes used. Come to think of it, the brakes my '36 Olds hotrod used to lock up when it had been driven awhile. Adjusting the master cylinder linkage was the solution. I joked about using the brakes as an excuse to park when on dates (I was a kid once). Arranging for a fan belt to brake as well might have been an interesting idea.

This is one of the down falls of buying a MF. If I am not mistaken; you will be required to go through your MF dealer for the part. Hopefully, they can get you going for a fair price.

If you want a shuttle shift trans.; take a look at a 4310. Great tractors. I would suggest the ehydro. Once you try one for your application; you will kick yourself for not getting one sooner.

You should go to your NH dealer and ask him to check with "Assist". Assist is a computer link to a NH factory tech. They are pretty good and should be of help

McMaster Carr supply company has smaller spools. HS wire is expensive and if you don't need 25#, the three pound spools might be a better choice. They even have 0.035 for smaller welders, but the 0.045 is less expensive.

Century are built and powered by Kukje engines except the 45hp which is Yanmar. Kukjue is now building the Cummins "A" series engine as well. Great tractor.

Does $12,200 seem to be a good price for an x595 with: 54" mower, 3 point hitch, 45 loader? It seems so but I have compared only 2 dealers thus far. I could drop to a lower cost model, but this seems to be a great deal. Any confirmation?<br>

I would like to rent a 48" box scraper if I buy it, but only will use for about a week or so. What are the limits on using one with this tractor for weight, lift height, etc with the x595? What brands and models will work with this tractor, other than the one sold through Deere?<br>

Using a two wheel drive garden tractor with a blade on a sloped driveway is tough, a blower works much much better as it requires much less traction.<br>

Also important is whether your equipment is starting at the top or the bottom of the hill, with starting at the top being the preferable approach.<br>

One our neighbors lives on a hill with a 1/4 mile drive with three or 4 switch backs. He has a two whl drive gas powered Tractor, it is a weird looking very big Garden tractor kind of the size of a Kubota BX but without the quality. He had a real problem with the front blower until he had a welding shop make a steel plate on the back that he attaches a sand spreader and also stacks four bags of sand + 2 bags in the sander for about 300 pounds on the rear.<br>

With that added weight he has no problems. <br>

The stock 2 ply tire on a 3204 series, is not a true 23 x 9.5 -12. Its on the small size for sure, and not durable.<br>
I just received and mounted Carlisle Turf masters 4 ply<br>
which are the stock size of 23 x 9.5- 12. Its night and day a bigger & better tire even though I stayed with the stock size. Now clearence around the wheel wheel is a lot less,<br>
and now I'm not sure when i receive my winter chains, they will have enough room. Just when you think you thought of everything..<br>

I question that Cub should have factored in since their 23 x 9.5-12 is not a true size, is when the owner needs a new tire and since, they should have made the wheel large enough. I cant see how lugs would work as well...<br>

I'm also in the market for a 4115 with FEL w/53" bucket and 60"MMM. The discount JBFoote received was excellent, but here in northern Illinois the best I can do is about 15% off the tractor and attachments plus the $400 rebate on 2 attachments. I looked at the 2210, but didn't like the fact that both the deck and 3 pt hitch operate together. The small tires making the 3 pt hitch limited are also a negative. I will go with the hydraulic material collection system because I have several large oak and hickory trees on my property.
