Chief, if it's not too much trouble I'd appreciate that. I like what you've done with yours. Did you ever rig up a solution to tie the hitch down so it can't rise up on you?

If he's willing to make and ship it and the price is agreeable I should probably send the iMatch dimensions to make sure it will hook right up. That is, if he doesn't already have that info.

They are about $20 at tractor supply. Or you can get a piece of 7/8 bar stock, drill both ends for pins. Unless you are a welder I'd go this route. If you're a welder you can go lots of routes. If you use a draw bar wrap it with card board so after concrete sets you can drive it out and use it for other stuff. againg make sure you have some old wire or chain laced thru the whole mess.

But I would seriously consider a top link bracket. even it is only a clevis with a 3/4 hole thru the side of the barrel. Drop a piece of chain thru the inside before you pour your concrete to make sure you have it solid.

I have recently hit the 50k mark on my 2500HD Duramax with the allison transmission. I went to the Allison web site to view maintenance tips etc. According to my owners manual at 50k I need to change the fluid and the spin on filter. The Allison web site says the interior filter only needs to be changed at overhaul but the spin on should be done at 7500 miles the first time as per a new service post. Arrgh ! I called several dealerships to ask them what they charge and do for the tranny service. All the GMC dealers I called charge about $200 to drop the pan and change the interior filter, replace the spin on filter and top off the fluid. No flushing the lines or cooler. I thought that was a little silly as Allison says dont change the interior filter. I called a couple of Kenworth/allison dealers and they charge $75 per hour for labor, neither CSR of the two places I called new what they did for the service. I figured if I was going to pay the price tag I would have the system totally flushed and re-filled with Trans Synd Synthetic (allison's brand). In short the total looked to be over $300 with the synthetic fluid at about $25 per gallon. So I figured to heck with that I'm going to replace the spin on filter and just drain the pan myself. The dealer was at $36 for a spin on filter but NAPA auto parts has them for $18.00. Regular Quaker state tranny fluid was $6.00 per gallon Vs $6-8 per quart for synthetic. The spin off filter was full of fine metal shaveings which I expected. I only was able to drain 8 qts out of 22. So for $30 Vs $300 my current plan is to change 8 qts and the spin on filter every 10k from now on. Has anyone here changed the interior filter on the Allison themselves ? I assume this is a very fine filter. I would change it myself if I can just because but not at $200. Any thoughts ?

Auggie in the world of mower decks the BX is what they call a suspended deck and the B-series as well as L-series uses a ground engaging deck. Both have there pluses and minuses as you did bring up the favorable of the suspended deck. Some have a preference for a ground engaging deck. Both will work fine it just depends on conditions.

On the x55 series the PTO is independent off the input shaft. I would gear the motor to supply 3000 rpm and then use the HST to provide speed changes. Not the most efficient but easy for experimenting.

Chains are a good idea. I had a John Deer 4600, 4 wheel drive tractor. Even with the 4 wheel drive it would get stuck in snow. I bought a Norwegian Ice Chain from my JD dealer. They were great, kinda like skidder chains. Only had them on the rear wheels. Next time I would make my own. Go to home depot and get yourself some tow chain and shackles, its really quite easy and you make your own design

Talk to them - ask for Ron (tell him I told you to call - that is who I talked to and maybe is the owner). I did the heavy duty side of everything. I have a New Holland TC30 and it works fine. I have it set up for all my attachments - even the rototiller. It sure makes it nice to switch back and forth. Takes a little learning - but after a few times you are off and running.

There is even an offset available for the rototiller (or other implements) if you want. I just received mine but have not installed it yet so have no experience with it. I have also purchased their boom pole that is made on a hitch. Haven't had a chance to use it yet but will soon. They also have some fence equiptment that looks like it should work.

The lever on the top link is easy to reach and works very well. I had a problem with the first hydraulic top link with a very small leak - they never hesitated and sent me another one and a UPS pick up to get the old one.

One thing to remember is that the male and female parts add weight to the tractor. I would estimate that each weigh someplace arounf 70 to 75 lbs - very heavy and sturdy. Doesn't both me but it could on lighter tractors when you are attaching an implement.

I have a Woods rotary mower and I found it almost impossible for me to horse around and get attached - now it is a snap. With the hydraulic top link it can be set open to float back and forth if need be.

I've heard of the helicopter logging I just can't remember if it was in print or just discussion. Here we have the Adirondacks that is protected to much and if it got started on fire on the right year it would not be able to be put out until it got the people in NY that think that it is supposed to be that way. Then we have other that is more open and is and could be fire protected. We are not blessed with Washington turf in this area as NY has enough government for two states, probably enough for all the states but we need to leave some for California as we trained them before they moved out there!

I forgot to add that some of these are very difficult to adjust and special care needs to be taken when setting these up so beware! I just hate most things that I have to do twice to perfect! Thank heavens for s#x.

Cpt. Dave - Don't hold me to this, but I believe the hour meter works essentially the same as an odometer on a car. The hour meter numbers increment at a rate relative to the rpms. When running at rated PTO rpm, the hour meter will increment 1 hour in 1 hours real time. If you are running at less than rated PTO rpm, the hour meter will increment less than 1 full hour in 1 real hours time.<br>
Since your tach works and the hour meter doesn't, it sounds like a problem in the meter. <br>
By the way, mine has 2100+ hours and is still working. Both the tach and hour meter quit last year because of a broken cable. Replaced that and all is fine.

Something got left off my last post. Words were deleted somehow after it was sent. The dealer is covering the repair. I will be surprised if he charges me anything. While I was there, after hours ( his register was closed down) I picked up oil, filters, etc.. and he just wrote down what I got and will sent me a bill for those items. The tractor was serverced by the dealer at 35 hours, as I thought 50 was to long for the first service. Not sure if he checked bolt tourqe or not. I looked up the tourque specs for the 16mm bolts already, but will go check that the proper rated bolt was used. Thanks for the advise.

About the only common thread that binds TYM and Kioti is the country they were assembled in. Kioti is a totally Korean tractor. The only parts built in Korea for TYM are the bodywork and misc small parts. Transmission is Eaton, Engines are Kubota and JD and drive train is Iseki. If it is close to any tractor it would be a TA model Iseki. Absolutely nothing wrong with Branson, Kioti ect they are great tractors that I would be lucky to own. TYM isn�t god�s gift to tractors (They all have one or two things we wish were different) but they are working hard to make it a real American machine.

Spent Wednesday walking thru more tractors and equipment then could be described. Had a great time and the day was way to short as I never can get in the tents and still see whats in the field. Around four they said over the P>A> system tat a major storm was going to be there in 15 minutes. We could hear it and didn't feel we wanted to challange it so we left. I do have a problem with spending a little to mcu time with things of interest and of coarse I do like to look at the other guys equipment. It is always fun from this side to listen to the pitches being given. Saw a lot of great new machines and ideas. Saw more of the newer tractors coming in that I often see mentioed on the boards here. I did have a great time. These shows will often give you the most amount of machinery per acre of any place to look at and I think it would be wise for anyone looking to buy a tractor to spend some time there. If you want to have a good time talk to multiple sales people of the same brands as you can learn alot more as every person has important issues of the equipment they work with.

This is one of those debates that is never ending. Its like trying to decide who makes the "best" oil. Once you narrow your choices down I think most of us would agree there are going to be far bigger choices than metal Vs Plastic. It really is a non-issue. But if it is important to the purchaser I think you can end the debate with two words...Personal Preference.
