Another idea that comes to mind is that the suction screen may be blocked or collapsed but you would thing the problem would occur all the time if this were the case.

I haven't see any owners manual that shows to raise the rear off the ground while using a hoe,not to say I haven't seen people who do it. The leak downs you are talking about are acceptable or within reason. The rates depends on cylinder size and load.

How much leak down is ok any

Good thought brought out about your needs. Look at them, then move accordingly. I think you have more then enough horsepower for your lot size. Your brush-hogging at this point could maybe be done by a heavy finish mower and save some time and expense. 30 engine horsepower would or should do fine unless ou wanted a 6' hog.

Pat often th evalves will stick in that position from lack of use. Not always, but sometimes. The reason is you might have had a little condensation and developed some rust. If you feel confident enough take it apart and you should have no trouble with cleaning that area up any it should be fine.

I went to re-torque the wheel bolts on my 2210 this weekend, and was having trouble with one of the fronts. After removing the tire/wheel altogether, I couldn�t get the bolts to line-up to re-install. Upon further investigation, and a cardboard template, I discovered that the bolt-holes were not punched in the center of the wheel. The center pilot hole was, but the bolt hole circle was shifted about a 1/4". This put such a side load on the bolts that I�m surprised that it ever went together at the factory. I called the dealer, and have a new wheel on order, should have it Wednesday. Anybody else ever encounter anything like this?

All of the parts are available for those tractors and I don't believe they have the gearbox available as you suggested as a replacement.. As far as the parts pages on the internet, I don't think the companies will nback up and do that, they will in the future be making that option available.

Everyone else pretty much filled in for me here but let me add another pennys worth. The 75% fill that is refered to for the calcium is to the valve stem when on the top of the rim. The air pressure is even harder to watch by tire print when calcium is used as it slows down the tire reflexes to the ground. Big pumps like what a tire shop or ours will over fill with calcium and very well will pressurize to 50lbs pressure with no trouble. You should have a full tread imprint either on the ground and or tire. The fronts of coarse with loaders need a couple of extra pounds to carry the load. The rear might show some tire squat and a full bar when carring the full load of the hitch mounted items. We often are into the ten lbs range when finishing these tractors out. This works as many people have given our tractors smooth ride ratings over other makes.

There was an article in Mother Earth News last year about someone who built an electric CUT. I started looking through that magazine when I was looking for different tractor brands and experiences and before I found this board. Anyway, I remember running across the article.

You probably won't need additional ballast with all those batteries. I use 6 volt golf cart batteries to power my equipment in my amateur radio station and they work really well and last for many years.

Do the cab frame bars on the mule qualify as ROPS?

My company requires me to wear a DOT Cycle helment unless the vehicle has ROPS (Roll over protection). They also restrict me to less than 20 MPH. I usually run less than 5 MPH allowing 0 air into the helment making me a real hot head.

Just in case anyone else was interested; here is the hitch I went with. It is rated for 10K and the ball 8K. Works great and is height adjustable.

Happy it's working. If you don't already know this, I'd make sure the 3ph isn't in lift mode when using the loader--especially if a one return hose type loader valve.

I never noticed this thread before. Getting back to the original question. When I was stationed in Honduras, I saw Toyota diesel pickups all over the place. Just about everything was diesel. I think it was preferred there for its reliablity, durability, and cost of fuel. I think a big reason you don't see these compact pickup diesels is EPA requirements and the intial cost. Alot of people have a hard time getting past the 2K - 4K price addition to the total cost. When the crappy Ford Taurus finally gives up the ghost (knock on wood, not for a few years more yet) I am eye balling a VW TDI for the wife.

My GC2300 got delivered on Saturday morning and is a great sub compact. Looked at JD but dealer didn't seem real interested in helping answer my questions on a entry level machine. Looked at kubota but was really turned off by the BX2200 HP rating of 3200rpm compared with 2600 on the 2300. Ran a 48" rotary cutter for 5 hours over the weekend and was amazed at how well the tractor handled it never lugged the engine. Dealer was a good selling feature. The Kubota and 2300 seemed harder to get since they are selling like mad due to low interest rates. 2300 15% down and 0% interest for 3 years. Dealer had 6 names on the waiting list to look at the tractor I got.

Great tractor, was shopping for BX2200 or GC2300 and decided on the 2300 for several reasons. Smaller dealer, engine runs alot slower to provide HP 2600 rpms vs. 3200 on Kubota.

I just got my 1433 Hydro a couple of weeks ago. Ordered it with the larger R4's. Word of warning: those tires will NOT allow you to use a MMW on the tractor, despite what the rep says. The front wheel hits the front caster of the deck. Also, the PTO shaft is at a steep angle to the deck since the tractor sits up so high (it wouldn't last a week). All else on the tractor is great. Will end up keeping the large tires and using a finishing mower off the 3 pt.
