I agree. I've never seen the inside of one either, but what you are<br>describing sounds more like a shifting linkage problem. On most all machinery <br>you can expect to find a plate on the top or sides of the transmission that <br>allows access to what are called the shifting rails. A typical design will have<br>shifting forks that ride on rails or perhaps shifting forks that are moved by<br>dogs and cams located right inside that cover. Your hand lever moves the forks<br>which in turn move the gears into and out of engagement. If this all sounds a<br>bit vague its because that it is! More like transmission shifting design<br>philosophy than

the forks has come adrift. It could be as simple as a cotter pin. Most machinery
will have similar problems.....I wouldn't worry about it, or even think that it
has anything to do with the rest of the machine. Machinery built in the Third
World does tends to have these type of annoying problems. You'll probably
discover a few more of them. My own opinion is that it has to do with an assembly
line workforce that is not raised to be "machine smart". It doesn't impact the
over-all design of the tractor.

I have been out of the field so to say for many years and am now getting back in to it i have been looking and the Boomer looks to be the best bang but I was wondering if someone had a price list of any kind on the new units ??? anyone<br>I am looking to but in about 3 to 4 weeks but i have been to one dealer that has given me a low price but i think that his service may be bad and all of the other prices i have recives from dealers seem to me to be high.<br>any help ??<br>thanks <br>ken means

I don't use my mower with the Boomer, Mike. I have a Zweeger disc job that rides<br>on the 3 point at right angles to the tractor. The mower doesn't have any real<br>ground support, just the 3 point. It's too heavy for the Boomer - would tip the<br>tractor! I wouldn't hesitate to use a mower conditioner on the Boomer, though.<br>I've now spend 2 days baling with the Boomer, and it put up around 300 bales all<br>told without a problem. I've used a mower conditioner in the past, and I'm sure<br>the Boomer would handle one of those.

Paul<br>The dealer here had two,a 280 an 250 model.I was looking them over good thinging of buying one,But my wife is having problem with here back so no tractor this year,The motor is a MITSUBISHI 3 cylinder,That a + Remotes + Parts are easy to get here the dealer said.Long Tractors are not good salers here because they stay in the shop,An made here in the states,Landtrac is made in japan i think an assamble in the states for sale,Hope this help good luck.Junior<br>Ps I think he price me the 280 at12500.00 dollars.The 250 at 10255.00<br> THE LONGAGRIBUSINES TRACTORS ARE LOT BETTER Design now i think.

Brain<br>The red clay don`t get no harder than here in<Ky>southern part of the state.But it Depends on what you won`t to do.Move dirt around an level.For your tractor is rated about 25 to 30 hp the plow will do the job if it is set right to go in the ground.The center link adjust the angle on the plow points up an down,An the right lift arm adjustment sets the angle left an right on the plow points,you should be able to plow 6 to 8

Alot of good comments, will add to NOT buy the el cheapo Howse brand. Very poorly made unit; all the corners that can be cut and then some, Howse found a way to do it. I have one with about 20 hours on it and if it lasts 100 I'll consider myself lucky. It was cheap and I got what I paid for so no complaint in that regard but if you want your unit to last, stay away from Howse.

I had my heart set on a HH TC33D 4X4 W/Supersteer and then I ran across a Kubota L4200 with Cab, loader, 4X4 and Glide shift (no hydro). It's got under 300 hours on it. I'm wondering what something like that is worth and if anyone has any experience with the model.<br>My uses are general but probably encompass a little of everything. I've got a lot of mowing to do (1/2 mile by 70' and then 5+ acres around trees). I've got access to a lot of heavy equipment, but it never seems to be around when I need it, so this would be a toy that I could keep around to do light loader work and fill in when I'm short on equipment. I would probably pick-up alot of atachments to do finish landscape work. Right now we are doing the initial development work but I would help justify this tractor by using it on finish work.<br>The TC33D would certainly be a nice tractor. But the Cab on the Kubota would be great, here in central Illinois. Also the extra capacity and HP is nice. Is does lack the turning radius and heigth is higher of course.<br>I'd appreciate anyones thoughts on performance and price.

Can't tell you much about the Long except that my dealer said the a company called Long Agribusiness has brought them into the US (about 5 years ago) . It's located in Tarboro, NC and supposedly has a very large warehouse with available parts for the Long tractor. Haven't heard of any specific trouble areas on the tractor but may be too soon to tell. For the price, they sound good. Let me know if you learn of any trouble areas or service problems with them.

What rules apply to deducting your tractor or depreciating it on your taxes? Do you have to farm for profit to deduct the tractor? If so, has anyone come up with some interesting agribusiness to deduct a tractor and implements.

Fred: You do NOT want to plow a driveway that big with a rear blade. Your chiropractor will charge you more to fix the 'crick' in your neck than it would cost you to have someone plow it for you!!!<br>Find an old snow blade from a large garden tractor (many dealers will almost give them away) and have a local welding shop make a mount that will fit your loader, your neck muscles will thank you for it !!<br>

I have a 1997 L3450, <400 hrs., 4wd, GST trans., on full turfs, loader, a remote and a few implents that I wanted to trade in on a new Grand L3600. The dealer said best he could do on the trade was $17,000.00US so if you want a bigger machine for less money.........................
