I had the same dilemma as you did. The engine for the 25hp and the 29 hp are the same. All 3 tractor have the same physical dimensions. My final thought was you can never buy a tractor with too much HP. If you are going to snow blow you will need the horsepower. I chose to go with a 72-inch rear mounted Bush Hog mower instead of the midmount. There were several reasons for this. You can reach into corners which you cannot do with a mid mount. The rear unit is also cheaper. I think that installing / dismounting the mid mount is harder (a hard surface is required to move the unit in and out from under the tractor) than a rear 3 point hitch. I also bought the loader and with the work I have to do the mid mount mower would not give me the ground clearance that would be required. I also bought the supper steer option. This is really nice and I have yet to have the lawn scuffed with the front wheels. The turning radius is very good. The turning radius is better than 36

I have been searching for a JD 870 - 1070 fwd with a planetary gear rear for a long time now and I have finally given up. I opted to buy a new 4400 with the 12F/12R synchro gear transmission. I plan on using the tractor for landscaping,backhoe/loader work and mowing. I really did not like the idea of not one dealer (I have four) to haveone on site to test drive. The 4300 seems to be plentiful and is similiar.<br>I would really like to know what problems they have before mine is delivered. The dealer assures me it is a very nice machine. (I hope it was not just a sales pitch). You are correct delivery time is in months! Any help would be appreciated!

I sell quite a few YM1500, because they are affordable & most have a cast clutch housing which makes it easier to mount a loader. The one possible drawback can be overheating. The tractor uses a thermosiphon cooling system that works better with water than antifreeze when it is hot out. feel free to contact me if you want more info.

The small Zetor is not really a compact tractor. It is somewhere between the<br>JD 5000 and 6000 series Ag. tractors in size and ability. I agree with your reasoning, as that is what I use as well, but adding a Tri Guard System, and using oil analysis would save even more. If your dealer is not telling you this, he is just selling you oil, and not giving you the service you deserve. I have two vehicles, one Diesel(six years on Amsoil), one gas and a New Holland all running that way. By the way, the both diesels are now running on the Series 3000 5W-30 Heavy Duty Diesel Oil, and have been over a full year now. No complaints from either engine ( and it's been close to 100 here lately), and an increase in milage on the one on the road. According to Amsoil, this oil outperforms all other 15W-40 oils on the market, even though it's a 5W-30. By the way, that was the first change in 5 years on the truck, and I only changed to go to the newer light weight oil, nothing wrong with the old. I now use synthetic in every place possible. And with the By-Pass Filter system installed, the oil may be black, but there is not any grit in the oil like I had before I changed from petroleum. Best thing I ever did for all my engines!

The Cub Cadet 7265 is an excellent tractor and has very good reliabilty record.The<br>loader for the tractor is the WOods loader as well as the mid mower. The Cadet loader <br>has more breakout and lift than the New HOlland. but the NH fits the tractor really <br>nice. I don't think Deere offers any smaller fork. As to lift capacity, remember that it is specified based on raising the rated weight to the full height the loader can attain and assumes the rear of the tractor is properly ballested as well. With forks, the center of gravity of the load could be much further forward than with a loaded bucket. Therefore, the stability would be reduced significantly in comparison, especially if the tractor is not on an absolutely level hard surface. In part, this explains why the fork load rating would be lower than the bucket load rating for ANY loader system. Think about how much you really need to lift and how high. If your requirements do exceed the rated capacity of the 4100 and 410 loader, then consider a 4200 or larger tractor with matching larger loader. Whatever route you take, please be Very Cautious and don't try to push the limits. The Laws of Physics can't be repealed just to satisfy the whims of individuals.

What pallet forks for the 410 JD Loader??? I've been looking at a 4100 with the loader and they say there isn't one, except for the oversized one made for the larger tractors! With it attached you only have 285 pounds of lifting capacity left. Heck, I can lift that much. I would be very interested in knowing if there is a smaller, lighter weight quick connect pallet fork for the 410 loader???<br>Thanks

Check the archives. There are several good posts about this problem. One good suggestion which I found works is to wait 2-3 seconds after shifting to neutral before shifting to next gear. And always shift gear to neutral before shifting range lever. (all this you read in the manual of course). And one post said something about cutting out some plastic guard underneath that the lever hits. (I haven't tried this yet.) Good luck.
