Chief; OK Now what I really want to know is how you got the clowns at amsoil to go away ? More e-mails telling me what garbadge everyone eles's product is and that they have succesfully sued oem'S for denying claims for their customers. I guess that means they have had more than a few product failures, Of course there are disclaimers attached to all of their emails. Billy, If you click the link that Chief left above and take a peek at the Hastings filters you will see all of the extra features that many premium filters use. The Duramax is still new enough that filter choice is pretty limited. The AC filter is a single element paper type. Theese are fine if you change frequently but for longer runs in time or mileage I just prefer a better filter.<br>

Yes you can. I have a B7500 on order, and until I saw your message, I didn't realize there was no clip. I checked with my dealer, and the panel (with clip) part number is 6C042-52750 and costs about $31. The four bolts are P/N 01125-50818, but they look like standard metric bolts, nothing special. It will save having to look for the top link every time you need it.

I think watering trees helps if the fire is in the ground litter and brush. If you have a tree canopy fire, watering some trees will not help much. The trees get so hot so fast, that they explode.

Well I just returned from the dealer with a repaired hose. Its an inch or two shorter but the parts guy just took it into the back and returned a few minutes later handed me the hose with a new end installed and Said "Have a good day. Next" No charge:). Now thats Cool.Friendly fast no hassle. GREEN POWER
I know I may be over stating but it is nice in this day and age to have a pleasant experience from the service industry.

Okay, now I am confused. Growing up, GREEN was diesel, RED was gasoline, and BLUE was WATER. I guess it has been awhile since I have bought cans.

My main use is maintaining an acre (mowing & snow removal) ... along with some french drains, new walks, clearing and leveling areas... I also own a small building and have occasional projects around there. I have rented for many years and want the convenenience to just open the garage door and go to work.

Chief, You need to get some photos posted. I sure am glad I dont need to move my safe, When the house goes it goes. I had to pay a few xtra bucks to have them carry it down stairs but it sure was worth every penny. I just wish I would have bought a bigger one !

The 4410 has an extremely fine mesh (more like metal woven cloth suction screen), a hydraulic filter (about the size of a quart jar) , and a hydraulic suction filter (about the size of a 2 qt. pickle jar). The fluid that I took out looked nice and clean. So clean in fact that I am saving it to use in my log splitter. For now, I am going to stay with the 400 hr. change but I am going to also keep an eye on the fluid to see if it changes color or smell. In that case I would change it. I may just change my mind depending on how long it takes me to get to 200 hrs. and change it then. This is not a cheap service even though I am doing it myself. Just the two filters were about $61 and the Hy-guard (7 gallons) was $56. The suction screen gasket was $5.28. I did the ole' stick the plug back in the hole and get sprayed with oil to drain the oil from the bucket trick this time, but next time I am using a container to catch all 6.8 gallons of the oil. (makes too much of a mess. I let the tractor sit and drain over night with all of the plugs and filters off to get as much oil as possible drain. That way I know it was done right. The 3 pt. hitch filter is a RPITA to get at with a wrench. A little better design would be in order.

Another thing that can be handy is to bolt a garden cart bed or a large plywood box to a set of carry-all forks and create sort of a pick-up bed for the three point hitch.

You can even make a simple dump feature by rigging some casters under the rear lip, lowering, detaching the top link, raising the lift arms and driving a short distance.

IMHO, I think you're trying to kill flys with a nuclear bomb.

The rule of thumb for cutting grass is simple mathematics if you boil it down to the basics. The cutting capacity, in acres per hour, of a given tool works like this. There is 43,560 sq. ft. in an acre, and 5,280 ft. in a mile. With those two items you work backwards from there. If the average cutting speed is about 5 mph, that is 26,400 linear feet per hour, if the cutter is 5 feet wide, that is 132,000 square feet per hour or 3 acres per hour. If you increase the cutter to only 6 feet in width you achieve a 20% increase in production, 7 feet would be a 40% increase or 4.2 acres per hour. While you would only achieve about 80% efficiency on average, it would still be just over 2.5 hours work, not including trimming to cut 9 acres assuming it is ALL grass, no buildings, driveways, etc. You talk about a horse barn, and so I must assume with the house, barn, driveways, etc., you probably dont have more than about 7 acres to cut maximum.

If speed is that critical in the operation I wouldn't think about a batwing, they are designed for wide open ares with minimal obstructions such as trees, buildings, etc., to manuever around, I think you need either a 72" MMM, if putting the deck on & off is necessary I would suggest a 3pth mower or a dedicated grass machine, such as a Ferris Pro-cut with a 72" deck, it should do the job even faster still.

Based on my experience, somebody with a bit of experience with on the Ferris could cut that place in under 2 hours, for what that's worth.

I paid $11550.50 for my B7800, $2,700 for the LA402 loader. That works out to $14,250.50 for the tractor and loader, so unless your price includes tax, it seems a little high.
I believe the B7800 would be a good fit for you, I am happy with mine so far (had it one week now). I got the mid mount mower, which is handier for mowing in close quarters. The rear mount is much cheaper, (72" Mid mount cost me $2,525), and also quite a bit easier to install/remove.

Bleeding air from components in most tractor hydraulic systems isn't much of a problem. Air is pushed through to the reservoir where it bubbles out of the oil before it's pumped again. Generally you just connect the lines, start the tractor, move the bucket and cylinder to the limits of their travels in each direction. Cycling in each direction is a good idea. Cycling is just holding a valve open at the end of the loader's travel for a few seconds after it stops and the relief valve opens. If the cylinders aren't charged with oil they will charge from the tractor reservoir, so the oil level has to be topped up when finished. Oil levels are usually checked with everything fully retracted.<br>

If you are using either tape or liquid sealer on threaded fittings, it's only used on the upper third of the threads. Otherwise it may be exposed to the oil stream, break off and obstruct the system. Routing of the hoses should be done carefully if there are no instructions. Improperly routed hose can become pinched in moving parts. Hoses that are too long, have sharp bends or the wrong angle fittings can fail due to excessive vibration and flexing.<br>

Jeff's comment is probably true. The 6' box on my Ford is a bit marginal. I included the empty loader weight in my 3,000 lbs. The rear stance of my ford probably is right on 5' with R1's but with turfs it tracks a few inches wider then 5', so I have to have a 6' box. However, with the extra width I can work small drainage ditches without driving in them. I can also make shallow excavations such as a 6'x12'x1' trench for a raised leeching pit. The dimensions were given by a health inspector. Unless the blade is outside the tires I'd have to drive with a tire against the trench wall. A 5' box would leave pretty wide tops on the crowns of my 14" drives. Cutting fairly wide grades into side hills that are level (eg. for a trailer) takes less fussing with a wider blade.

There's all sorts of reasons that a wider blade is handy but managing traction also takes fussing and time. The extra fussing needed for a 6' blade on a tractor much smaller than mine probably wouldn't be worth it.

In selecting implement widths, the first priority is the match between implement and tractor. There also is the match between an implement and the work to be considered. For example, I have a 5' snow blower. A 6' blower probably would take me more time than my 5' one. A 6' blower would also take me three passes to clear the 14' drives and I'd probably have to go to a lower gear than I use for my 5' blower in heavy snows.

Anybody used the roadmaster active suspension system? I have a late model chevy 1/2 ton service van that is overloaded and unbalanced. I installed air shocks which helped with the ride (swaying, etc.), but I need something to increase the load bearing capacity and level the vehicle back to original.

These look like a gret alternative to helper springs, but I'd like to hear from some people that have used them for this or similar purpose.
