Hi,
I went to put my 72" mid-mount mower on my 4310 hydro last night and had a heck of a time. I should have know it was going to be a bad night when I started out by hitting the new garage with the front end loader. Anyhow, I could not get the deck to raise and lower. I tried switching the hydraulic lines around and still couldn't get it to work. I also had a heck of a time getting the yoke (???) on the front of the deck hooked to the front of the tractor. And, there are three holes for the front draft arms (???). My manual says the pin should should go in the front holes, but to mee it looks like it was in the middle hole. I don't have my manual in front of me, so I hope what I am saying makes sense. Does anyone else have the same set up or can you give me any direction on getting this straightened out. The lawn is getting pretty tall now! Obviously, I am going to write everything down so I can remember where everything goes the next time I need to do this. Thanks for the help!

I built one yesterday evening using WillieH's axle design. I built a rectangular frame that goes all the way around the barrel; I think Willie's is "U" shaped. I haven't filled it yet, but will today. I'll post pics as soon as I can.

Murf, the door hinge deal would work. We have used 1" angle iron for the base with two bolts holding and 1/2" box for the flipper to hold the lever. I've found that many times after the operators are aware of it they are fine after and will check every now and then to make sure it is engaged.

JD's description sounds pretty good. The whole thing reminds me of assembling simple bearings in races. I used to use what I called 'bearing grease.' The stuff sold for 'bearings' now in box stores isn't near as sticky as what I remember.

Even with the sticky stuff, I've dropped plenty of globs of grease and balls on the floor. The good thing about grease is that the balls don't bounce and roll under workbenches when they drop. I'd count on some dropping and it's be good to work in a large clear area or have some extra bearings.

I like the idea myself and I guess I am inclined toward the role of safety police from time to time. Safety policing is a thankless role that suffers mostly because the practitioners tend to get a bit preachy. A forum for describing hazardous situations might be pretty good though. The main thing about safety is the on-going attitude 'How dumb that would never happen to me.' Preachy doesn't help here but maybe a few stories would.

Dumb things do happen and not just to inexperienced operators. Most of my uncles retired from farming following recovery from serious accidents. My perspectives in this are a bit different because I worked in a Veterans Hospital, and the Vets does receive a lot of accident trauma. I'd see people in traction for months from these dumb things.

I'll some more guessing here. Deere Tech's comment made an important point. Both windings must work for the solenoid to pull in. A 50A circuit seems pretty heavy for operating something like a fuel shutoff and I wouldn't have thought that the hold-in winding would be needed as well.

That sort of complicates testing since both winding circuits have to be tested. I'm guessing the solenoid is designed like that so all safety interlock switches can be in the hold-in winding circuit. The fuel solenoid wouldn't energize unless all safety switches are closed. It sure starts sounding like a wiring diagram would be handy here.

It sounds like the hold-in circuit and related safety switches might be a good place to look. I'd keep in mind that safety interlocks are sometimes placed on the ground-side of the winding of a safety relay. In such a circuit, the hot lead wire and even the hot contact on another component such as the fuel shutoff solenoid always will measure full voltage. Such designs may not be all that safe since a short circuit around the switch would defeat the safety protection, but it's like that on my Ford.

If you're already jumping things and have a wiring diagram, jumping individual safety switches might help find the problem.

A recent discussion was about a several similar failures around bell-housings. In general, Kioti owners seem to be a pretty happy lot around here. It's important to note that the owners who experienced broken bell-housings didn't seem too disturbed, which probably is a result of good warranty support.

I would have like to have the 4710 too, but I also needed to watch my budget. I purchased the 4510. According to JD list prices when I purchased, there was a substantial difference between the 4510 with 12/12 powRev at $21,279 and the 4610 ehydro at 24,139, with the 4710 ehydro listing at 25,909. You do get more bells and whistles with the ehydo's, but I felt I really didn't need them. I opted to use the money saved by buying the 4510, to have factory top and tilt kit, R4 tires, fwd and back lights ETC. installed.

I don't have rubber on my key. Nor is the key switch the type that has the push and turn in feature as I have seen on other threads. I'm just stocking up with additional fuses and waiting for the next blow out.

I would agree. Tom, I think that a lot of people don't realize that front end loaders place way more stress on a tractor than a backhoe alone. The weight and height that it has to lift places much leverage on the bell housing area.

I've got a 1990 JD 855 with a 3 cylinder yanmar (I beleive direct inject). I've run out of fuel 2 or 3 times (work on a lot of hills) and have re-fueled and cranked for 6 to 10 seconds to start every time. Most yanmar auto purge systems work excellent and need no other intervention.

My new Branson 3510 w/ B10 loader and the extra large R/4 tires was delivered today. I also bought the Branson 64 inch tiller and Branson 6 ft bush hog. Used the loader and bush hog all afternoon. I am very impressed so far. Would like to hear from other Branson owners.

Finally got my pics posted. Lots of work. Used Photo Studio and MGI Photo Suite to edit. I figured out that the 30KB limit is not 30KB. I could not get a photo to load unless it was under 28KB. These are some photos of Eicher tractors that have been sold or leased to happy customers in GA and FL. Also a picture of a Mazzotti backhoe at work. Will try to update often with interesting photos. Sorry for the shameless self promotion, but maybe it will be of some interest.

Take the two injectors out or if it's a 3cyl take three out and turn engine over by the big nut on the crankshaft or ignition switch. Check too see if oil or fuel comes out of the cylinders
